I love this soap and use a bunch of different varieties. Most people are familiar with all the various uses and benefits... I'm a physician and I do a fair bit of clinical research, so I'm adept at reading and deciphering research data. There is a reasonably good body of research indicating that eucalyptus oil repels or discourages mosquitoes. There are two kinds of eucalyptus oil generally available, Eucalyptus globulus (southern blue gum) and Corymbia citriodora (lemon eucalyptus). Lemon eucalyptus oil is typically found to be more effective at repelling mosquitoes. It's not clear what type of oil is in this product, but they both are helpful. Some caveats regarding drawing any conclusions regarding the efficacy of this product in repelling mosquitoes... the concentration of oil used in studies is clearly higher than what would be found in this soap, and in the studies, the oil was used in a completely different fashion. Also, there are several other essential oils that repel mosquitoes. I've only used the product for one mosquito season, and this year could be less severe than other years for totally unrelated reasons. But having said all that, I have found that I experience far fewer bites after switching to the variety of soap in the shower during the months when mosquitoes are an issue. One of top ingredients… and just realizing after some research the potassium hydroxide isn’t as safe as all the other ingredients. “ ome of the effects of KOH on the body include: Potassium Hydroxide is very corrosive and it will corrode the skin on direct contact, it is not toxic if inhaled but can cause you to get sick. mild irritation, runny nose, sneezing ... If in the right concentration in cosmetic products it is not harmful to the skin, but if too much can cause skin damage” ... show more

Been using for years. Sadly, they've jacked up the prices on this stuff so high that regular people can't get it anymore. And I'm not talking about inflation. I'm talking about jumping on the opportunity to price gouge their long time customers. They say it's because of how they get their ingredients but they have failed in proving that they're being honest about that, and not just greedy. Sadly, this was my last purchase of this brand. It's sad that it's been driven into the ground by their new generation of greed. Oh well. ... show more

No chemicals, junk, or nasty fragrances, just good old lavender soap! It’s expensive but well worth it. We’ve been using the Dr. Bronner products in our household for years, love that we can buy our favorites in bulk and save a little money too!

The best part is, it is organic and free from toxic chemicals. Your skin is your biggest organ and absorbs everything you put on it. this is the only soap you need. I use it for my face body and even hair. no other face wash removes my make up so fast and effectively. I also use it to wash all my clothes and bedsheets in the laundry. I mix it with baking soda and water equal parts of three. I also use it for hand wash and dish soap by diluting with water. Its very potent one tiny drop is enough to wash entire face. And 3-4 drops for body. . The smell is amazing and I’ve tried almost every one my favorite is Rose, lavender, and peppermint. The best soap for babies too and dogs. I washed my golden retriever with the baby soap, and he doesn’t have any allergic reactions and leaves his skin extremely refreshed and his fur soft as ever. ... show more
