Hello everyone! My acquaintance with Dr. Bronner's - Pure-Castile Bar Soap began with the fact that I was in search of a natural and safe soap for every day. I have sensitive skin, so it's important for me that there aren't a whole bunch of chemicals in the soap. Now about my experience: soap copes well with its immediate responsibilities. The foam forms quickly and easily, you do not need to lather for a long time. The fragrance is fresh and herbal, and unobtrusive. After washing, there is no feeling of tightness of the skin, neither on the face nor on the hands. In general, there is a feeling that this is a good old soap that our grandmothers used: no chemicals and flavors, natural ingredients, and even paper packaging. My opinion: an excellent solution for sensitive skin. I also recommend it to anyone who is looking for natural soap! ... show more

I have used Dr. Bronner's off and on for years. I like the natural ingredients and it has never been drying on adult or children's skin. The mild natural scents are nice and never bother my allergies to anything scented.

    • Great Soap -- Not Great on Hair

After reading you can use this for many different things including body and hair, I decided to give it a shot. I'm all for multi-purpose products! The smell didn't smell like rose to me at all... Which was the reason I went with this soap in the first place. It has a very medicinal, herbal smell. I'm not too fond of it but I use many natural products so I'm used to it. However, I was disappointed. The feeling of the soap as a body wash leaves your body sticky when still in the water like many other bar soaps. However, unlike those types of soaps, your body still feels clean and it does not feel like there's a film over your skin. As soon as you dry, the feeling is gone and my skin feels fairly hydrated compared to my old body wash. And finally, for hair... While I've read that you can certainly use this for hair, I wouldn't. It feels very much like putting regular bar soap meant for body onto your hair. It will go in and lather quite nicely, but then when washed out it will leave your hair feeling like one large clump on your head. Like most natural shampoos I've tried, it didn't remove enough oil from my hair either. So while it is effective, I would have to use this daily to keep my hair from getting too oily and I don't like how it makes my hair feel after I wash it. In sum, this is a great natural soap for body! I have sensitive skin and using it as a body wash has cleared up my dry patches and greatly improved the state of my skin. Just don't expect it to smell likes roses and be wary of washing your hair with it. ... show more

I had been looking for more natural soap options and this seemed to be a common and popular choice, so I bought a bar to try out. In my opinion, it was a fairly large bar. The first time I used it, I liked it. It felt wonderful on my skin, washed off well, and left me feeling clean, soft and smooth. Not dried out at all. I kept running my hands over my arms because they felt so great. Even though this is an unscented soap, it does have what I would call a typical soap smell to it. It's not unpleasant, quite nice, and I assume the 'unscented' means they didn't add any scent to it, so you're just getting the natural smell of the ingredients. It makes no difference to me, but if you want a product that actually has no smell, this won't be it. The bar is lasting a good while compared to what I'm used to. It's a pretty hard bar, not soft like some of them that seem to wash half away the first time you use it. I've taken many showers with the same bar, and still have many to go. I think this is a great soap, and I will definitely be buying more. I will probably also try some of Dr. Bronner's other varieties. ... show more

Of all the rose scented soaps I have used, This has to be the best. The scent is excellent. To me, it is the smell of spring. The lather is good, and castile soaps tend to last awhile. Knowing that it's made with healthier natural stuff gives that extra peace of mind. It does not dry out my skin, but I also do not use it on my face and pits just in case it does.
