The first time I found this product was at TJ Maxx and it was at the amazing price of 799 for the same 24 ounce bottle. Let’s just say that I have never experienced such luxury in a bottle before it was the scent for me. It was the texture for me and it was the way that it made my skin feel and smell. My skin felt so moisturized and soft after usage. In addition, I use this under my arms as a deodorizer, and I don’t feel like I am loading myself with heavy, toxic chemicals. All of the ingredients in this bottle are naturally derived and very gentle for all skin types , the price that you pay, for this is absolutely worth every penny because of its benefits. I think reviews involving personal care products need to remind readers everyone has a different body chemistry and what might work for one may not for another. Having said that, if you decide to try Dr. Bonner's products, it is very important you read the instructions and follow them. If the product you purchase recommends a companion Dr. Bonner product, I strongly urge you to get it as well. These products seem to be designed to work well together. Also, having tried 3 commercial hair conditioners, they do not necessarily play well with this soap when used as a shampoo. I've always had skin sensitivities to detergents, shampoo, conditioners, soap, etc, since I was an infant. However, about 10 years ago, it blossomed into a full blown allergy. Then about 3 years ago, I also developed an allergy to any products (not just personal care products) which contained perfumes of any kind. My sister brought me a bottle of "Dr. Bronner's Organic Baby Unscented Sugar Soap" to try, having been told it could be used on my hair as well. It worked exceptionally well, but left my hair feeling unpleasant in a number of ways. (Note: NO perfume scents of any kind.) After reading a lot of reviews, I also purchased "Dr. Bonner's Hair Conditioner Rinse - Citrus" and "Dr. Bonner's Organic Hair Creme - Peppermint". I carefully followed the instructions and have found both products do exactly as promised, leaving my hair manageable, clean and nice to the touch. If anything, I think my scalp has even improved in that I no longer see as much flaking. (And for those interested, I've tried every conceivable product designed for scalp itchiness, flakiness, etc. -- none had any effect and most made the problem worse.) I will admit, I was loath to spend more money on a product which didn't state it was scent free. However, these scents don't appear to be artificial and peppermint (the hair creme) and citrus (rinse) not only don't bother me, they even have a nice scent. If I were to guess, though, the scent doesn't last long, since none of my 3 grand daughters (who live with us) have said anything -- they are generally the first to notice because of their concern about my allergies. The basic instructions are to: 1) wash your hair and rinse with water; 2) mix 1 capful of the hair rinse with 8 oz water and pour slowly over your hair to remove your soap/shampoo; 3) towel dry and add hair creme. My steps are a bit more, only because I like to wash my hair twice. (It's a baby boomer thing, folks.) 1) wash my hair with a glycerin soap; 2) wash my hair with Dr. Bonner's baby soap; rinse with water, squeeze out water; 3) rinse my hair with diluted (see above) Dr. Bonner's hair rinse; 4) gently towel dry; 5) using a very, very small amount of hair creme spread across my palms, I gently rub it into a section of hair and repeat for each section. I then use a comb to help evenly disperse the creme. Note: Near as I can tell, I can use either just the glycerin bar soap or just Dr. Bonner's baby soap provided I finish with his rinse and creme. I continue to use the glycerin soap for the first wash because it's quite inexpensive at my local dollar store. I actually prefer Dr. Bonner's baby soap as a shampoo (easier to use), but since I wash my hair twice, this is solely a means to control expenditures. My only complaint: hair cleaning now takes me considerably longer than it did before ... 10 minutes vs 1-2 minutes. ... show more

I purchased this product with my own money. I have used this soap regularly for over a decade and keep returning for more. I was not paid or compensated for my review. This review is not meant to be taken as medical advice; it is just an honest review of my experience using this product. I have sensitive and dry skin. Before using this soap, my legs would be so dry and itchy that I would often bleed from scratching them so much, and I would cry from the pain. Before using this soap, I used to break out in a rash after shaving, even when using gel shaving foam and expensive razors. I did not dilute this soap. I poured it straight into my hands and lathered up to wash the rest of my body. I used this undiluted soap to shave and have found it far superior to shaving cream, other soaps, and lotion. I did not get a rash from this product after shaving, and my legs have been noticeably less dry and itchy. This was my experience, and your experience may be different than mine. I do not use this product to wash my hair or my face. I have used this product to clean our shower while in the shower, and I love that it saved me time and I didn't have to worry about dangerous chemicals. I keep a sponge in a dry area of our shower for this purpose. I have taken this soap in travel-size containers when camping. My favorite scent is almond. I wish the lavender scent were milder, but I still liked it. The mint scent was excellent, but it did sting my eyes and nether regions when used at full strength. ... show more

This body wash smells amazing and leaves you feeling very clean. However, it is drying so be sure to moisturize after!
