They are a good value and fits nicely. The installation was relatively easy but a little time consuming. There are videos on YouTube that show the exact steps to replace these. I don't drive my car much so I change them once a year.

    • TESLA WET DOG ODOR IS GONE!
These HEPA filters fit just fine and got rid of the wet dog smell in my Model Y. Tesla could make it easier to swap them out, but only took about 30 minutes. Online videos explained the whole process.

These DPD Activated Carbon Air Filter come in a brown cardboard box along with an instruction sheet. They included tools as well, a decent spunger and torx screwdriver. My 2020 Model Y didn't use a torx screw though, I had to locate a 1/4 socket to remove the bolt holding the panel where the air filters are. As these air filters have a rigid "frame", you need to remove extra panel underneath the glovebox to be able to place these in, so a little tougher than the standard soft air filters where you can just remove the passenger side panel then squish them into the slot. Installation was pretty easy, The foam around the edges help forcing the air through the filter rather than go through the sides. They fit easily without any pushing or being too tight. They are filled with activated carbon beads so it will absorb some smells, but don't expect wonders. I drive with these through extreme heat (43 C / 109 F) where the AC had to work extra hard. No issues, plenty of airflow and no problem with condensation. ... show more

At 22k, my a/c was smelling musty. Replaced the OEM with these. The old ones were beyond disgusting. Access/installation is quirky purely due to their location, but if I did it-most anybody can do it. Watch the install videos, tools are included in the kit.

My heat stopped working shortly after installing these air filters. Car is still under warranty, so didn’t think it was an issue. Turns out, I had to pay a diagnostic fee when Tesla discovered it was these air filters causing the issue. I recommend installing the basic OEM filter. I bought a used Model 3 that had that infamous mold smell, so I figured I should change the filter. I was pretty nervous about getting in over my head or finding out I don’t have the correct tools, but this kit eliminated that worry. The filters are much better quality than the ones I pulled out of there, but I was most impressed by the fact that it came with a torx screwdriver and a tiny pry bar for the little plastic rivets.
