This is a great starter kit, with some room to add things later on. Everything seems about as sturdy as you'd expect, for the price. I haven't had the chance to really put these through their paces, but everything seemed pretty good. I do wish the bag had a bit more organization -- there are a couple of small pockets on the front, and 3 pockets inside. The putty knife seems like a bit of an odd choice to include, but heck, you never know when it'll come in handy, I guess. I was thrilled when I received this tool kit. The tools are sturdy and the selection of tools will see you through most DIY and fix it projects around the house. I was most impressed by the inclusion of a 3 way magnetic level, a picture hanging kit, a spakle knife and a huge selection of Allen wrenches organized in a hinged case. This is a great first tool kit, or for small spaces. It’s all enclosed in a well made and quite strong tool bag with handles and a zipper. This tool set is really nice, it has everything you need for your basic tools. I love the tool bag that everything comes it. It opens up really rude, which is great for finding the right tool. The level is on point and levels out perfectly, the wrench works really well, and the screwdriver with bits works as expected. I like how heavy the hammer is. It has some weight to it without being too heavy. The razor knife has break off razors, so when one gets dull and isn't working as well you can snap it off and get a new razor. It also comes with a bunch of replacement blades as well. The measuring tape is easy to use, but locks and unlocks with ease and measures correctly. It includes a set of nails, screws, plastic screw housing pieces, and more in a small kit. There are a bunch of different tools in this set and each are great and work very well. I like how each individual piece is very well made and feels nice and sturdy. They're not a cheap tool made poorly. I think it's a decent price for this tool set. This came nicely boxed, & all the various tools inside were wrapped with plastic bags to keep them from banging together & making noise during handling. The “146 pieces” claim is a bit over the top…They are counting every little nail & thumb tack & the bag itself & all the screwdriver bits! However, it simply is a very nice kit to have. We have most of our tools in a tool shed, but we have always kept a few things in the house in a plastic “shoe storage” holder. We took our tools out of the old plastic “shoe bin,” and placed them into this much much nicer holder — and *now* we can lift this up & take it to a well lighted place to search for the tool or tools we need at the time. This is a better organized (& in retrospect) a sane way — to keep our in house tools put in one place — and then also be easily managed — than we had before. This would also make a considerate gift for new home owners, or really just about anyone who has a place that from time to time needs a measuring tape, a level, a hammer, a screwdriver — (just about everybody) you get the idea! ... show more

This is the ideal starter set that every home should have. These tools are easy to use, and they pretty much cover any simple repair that might come about in a house. They are made very well. They are solid, strong, and well put together. I like that there is a tool bag to keep them all in included with the set. It is a lot easier to find a specific tool when they are always kept in the same place. So if you don't usually have tools, or don't use them very much, then having a designated bag to keep them all in can be helpful. Plus, it makes it much easier to carry them all in case you aren't sure which tool you might need for a certain task. The bag is also well made. It is sturdy, and made strong enough to easily carry the entire set and then some. All in all, I would recommend this set of tools for anyone. It doesn't matter if you rent or own your residence.
