The soap works very well as a shower or bath bar. Nice suds, very light pleasant scent, and nice for the skin. It also works well enough for shaving - it does the job. But instead of a nice foamy cream or gel, it only covers the face in a thin coating. So, you don't have to keep rinsing to get the cream or gel off of the blade. You might be able to get a full shave with one rinse! But it is not as much "fun" and it does not feel as smooth as a regular cream or gel. You may like it but I feel I get less of the shaving experience. However, it does work and it is much cheaper than buying shaving cream or gel. I am 65 years old and worked on ships and tugboats till I retired. My skin is tough and dry and I really needed the nutrients added to this soap. It doesn't feel oily or slimy after use, but a fresh and rejuvenated feeling I really like, with no perfume smell. Just what an old salt like me needed!
