I ordered the "Double Walled Glass Coffee Mugs with Silicone Lids,12 OZ 2 Packs Insulated Drinking Coffee Cups with Lids, Dishwasher Safe Reusable Glass Iced Travel Coffee Cups for Morning Coffee, Hot or Cold Drink" to (slightly) offset my wastefulness when it comes to disposable coffee cups. Sure, I've bought the biodegradable, eco-friendly, compostable, etc. variety of to-go coffee cups, but I felt like taking the plunge to a washable glass to-go cup was a stronger commitment. /shrug First thing I noticed was that these cups are weighty. They feel like they're solid glass, rather than double walled glass with air in the empty space. The clarity on the glass somehow stood out to me as well, though I can't explain why that would be. I just felt like the glass LOOKS very clear. The silicone lid would be the only thing I didn't immediately love - the lids smelled very harshly of chemicals when I first opened the package. I rinsed everything off but decided a more thorough wash was necessary for the silicone pieces (just because of the scent). The smell faded somewhat but is still present. I'm sure it will dissipate over time. The product description states these are dishwasher safe. However, I intend to hand-wash only as my history with "dishwasher safe" items has been less than stellar. In this particular case, I'm more comfortable running the glass(es) through the dishwasher than the silicone covers - again, based on my own history. It's not going to kill me to hand-wash two cups/lids, after all, and if that adds to the longevity, then that's what I'll do. Over all, no real complaints. If the chemical smell of the silicone lids fails to fade away, I'll update this review to reflect that. In the meantime, I'm happy to have a couple of nice to-go cups for the commute. ... show more

Really like this pair of double walled glass, 12oz, cups. Now, I can pour my hot water, watch my tea brew in this clear glass and hold this glass which has been recently filled with piping hot water with ease. The glass gets warm enough to know that the contents are hot but still bearable enough that my palm and fingers do not feel scorched. These cups are easy to clean. Simply wash with soap and water or throw into the dishwasher. The silicone lids are also dishwasher safe. Speaking of lids, they did not leak when I drank from the glass with hot tea in it. No leaks were noticed when drinking with a cold beverage. So, no issues with the lids. Which is surprising, because while they fit over the glass, they don't seem remarketly tight or snug but they easily go over the top of the glass and it keeps the contents inside from leaking. The 12 oz size is perfect for your one good cup of coffee or whatever hot or cold beverage that you have. These cups feel great to hold in the hand despite not having a handle. Though they are made of smooth glass, I didn't find that they easily slipped. That said, because they are made of glass, they will not withstand a drop onto a hard surface so, they are not going to be as durable as metal or plastic, but the grip for me is perfect and drinking out of glass beats metal and plastic any day for me.. I would definitely recommend these glasses as an all-around drinking glass or a dedicated hot beverage glass. Just know that this is made of glass and it probably won't survive a hard drop to the floor. ... show more

I have a few Bodum double-walled glass mugs already. They have a handle, but no lid. This compares favorably with those mugs. I added boiling water into the mug and the outer wall got warm, but never so hot to be difficult to handle. With the silicone lid on, it keep the water hot for a much longer time. At home, the Bodum mugs make a lot more sense: having handle makes for easier handling and there's no need for a lid when you're not really going anywhere. When you go out, it may make sense to bring these mugs, just to decrease the risk of spilling. The silicone lids fit very well onto the mugs and there is no leakage from the sides when tipped to the side except from the spout. On the down side: the silicone lid is heavier than regular plastic lids, so it makes the whole glass more top heavy. As the glass is tapered and has a smaller base, it makes the glass even more top heavy. While the glass has a flat bottom, the edge on the bottom is curved. It is perfectly stable on a flat, hard surface, but it's a little wobbly over a softer surface (ie. cloth drying mat). Overall, this is a nice mug that does what it claims and will keep your drink warmer for a longer time outdoors, but it's a bit pricey for two mugs. ... show more

These fit under my Keurig dispenser nicely (see picture). Since I use one pod with 6 ounces of water, I used two Keurig pods for this larger 12 ounce size coffee cup. (If you're using more than 6 ounces of water for a Keurig pod, you're drinking water, not coffee.) This cup would also work fine with a single 6 ounce brew, and is filled about 3/4 to the top with 6 ounces of coffee, since the cup shape is tapered. The remaining top 1/4 of the cup can hold another 6 ounces. The cup holds 12 ounces total filled to the brim. As I drink coffee with milk, I would say these can hold 8 ounces of coffee, plus 2 ounces for sugar and milk, so about 10 ounces of usable space in the cup when not using the lid. Maybe 11 ounces with the lid, since it can't spill. The included silicone lids fit nicely, and I tried drinking with and without the lids, and both felt fine. There were no leaks drinking with the lid on, it fits the cup nicely. The product packaging is also excellent, with precision cut foam packing materials, that ensured the cups would survive Amazon delivery. ... show more
