I found a lot more to love in these cloths than expected. Cleaning my favorite black steel pans is much more difficult for me than cleaning my cast iron pans. While cast iron has its benefits (it obviously holds its heat better), but it's heavier and bulkier to use than black steel. Black steel pans really help me out with lightning quick response to gas burner heat changes when dynamically searing and frying. Both types of pans typically come with no chemical-based fused non-stick coatings. You create your own non-stick surface by seasoning both types yourself with higher burn point cooking oils (canola, etc) which is wonderfully slick when you maintain it - safer, in my opinion- than any 'conventional' pans with a built in chemical nonstick applied, which cannot be replaced when it wears out and starts getting scratched. Black steel pans are not as 'sturdy' as cast iron when it comes to 'seasoning.' They just don't hold on to the seasoning slippery surface as much as cast iron. You can't use the same sledge-hammer approach to them as you do with cast iron. All this means is that you have to find a 'gentler' way of does not hang tough to your surface seasoning. On my cast iron pans, I use a 'chain mail' covered silicone sponge to disLodge any stubborn burned on foods which don't release easily with a bit of salt and oil. NO SOAP: google it. My 'chain mail' scrubber works great on my cast iron: it is much too abrasive to use on a regular basis with my black steel pans. The red item in my last photo is my cast iron pans' chain mail bulldozer sponge next to the thin metal wire Dish Towel. These wire dish cloths work much better for me on Black Steel pans. easily let me softly rub a bit of table salt and oil onto burnt food spots, removing the burnt remnants but leaving the basic non stick seasoned surface pretty much intact. And No nasty shiny scratches! Makes maintaining the slick surface much easier. Don't get me wrong, Black Steel pans do need some regular cleaning and maintenance, like cast iron, but it's no big deal once you've learned how to quickly remedy any mistakes you've made with over-cleaning. Maybe there's a better way to care for my black steel pans, used almost daily. But these cloths are are working for me better than anything else I've yet tried. I cook too much --- I hope they will last a while. I'm hiding them away where family members won't grab them to experiment with other cleaning tasks (don't tell them about this review)! I ordered these with the hopes of replacing use of sponges. These scrub cloths are easy on the hands and effective at cleaning dishes, pots and pans. They hold dish soap and lather but also easily rinse out any gunk and remaining soap to then hang and quickly dry. I used on my countertops and stovetop; they clean well but unlike a sponge, too much water remains on the cleaned surface. I’ll either have to keep a sponge handy for a final swipe or resort to towel drying. I like the recloseable storage bag to keep extras neatly stowed away. ... show more

I actually love these wire dish cloths. I first used them on my aluminum pots and pans and they worked great. Then I tried them on our stainless pots and pans and they did just as good. They were able to clean all the rice out of the pan without having to soak it in water overnight, like I usually need to. These cloths do not absorb much water at all, so they dry pretty fast. They make cleaning the dirty dishes alot quicker and easier. They are durable and seem to hold up well. They are not sharp or uncomfortable on your hands. I’ve ordered these types of dishcloths for the kitchen and wanted some more to use in the bathrooms. They are a happy medium between a cloth dishcloth and a rough scouring pad. They won’t scratch surfaces but provide more scrubbing action than a cloth dishcloth. They are durable and can be washed with laundry. The design prevents food particles from collecting on the surface and they dry quickly. I especially like that they don’t smell after many uses. NOTE: These dishcloths are not absorbent. They should be considered a cleaning accessory rather than the “go to” dishcloth for wiping up spills and counters. ... show more
