I bought this because I wanted the Apple Car Play in my car. It is so much more convenient using the touch screen to navigate, answer the phone, send text messages by just saying..."Hey Seri". I can play SMX by just touching the app. It is just so much easier.     • Good unit for price, but lots of flaws after a few months of usage!
This is a good unit for what’s included for the price you’re paying. I’ve owned this since September 2022 and it is now January 2023, here are my pros and cons: PROS: -CarPlay is nice. -Backup camera included is nice. -Sound quality is nice. -Physical design of the stereo unit and button location is nice. -The ability to have both Android Auto and CarPlay as well as the Auto Link feature is nice. -DVD feature is nice to have when on long road trips/camping trips. CONS: -Button illumination has been set at RED/Amber since I’ve gotten this to match the rest of my interior lighting; unfortunately the RED/AMBER/YELLOW lighting has completely stopped lighting up, only blue and green are properly working. (All connections are properly connected, unit seems to be “burning out” from regular daily usage) -Touchscreen isn’t very responsive, you really have to really ensure you get a good solid full-flat finger tap/press on the touchscreen in order to get proper responsive feedback for whatever you trying to use on the unit, ESPECIALLY when using the CarPlay feature. -When using CarPlay, the iOS “assistive touch” icon is forever stuck on your screen. You can move it out of the way, but it’s definitely a nuisance and never used. I assume it’s there incase the buttons stop working completely, but thankfully that has not happened to my unit.(yet…) -Brightness of the screen is a pain. Main home screen brightness is extremely bright, no matter how much you dim the screen. When adjusting brightness and contrast settings, it only adjusts the BACKGROUND/WALLPAPER of the screen. When using CarPlay, you’ll have to fiddle with the brightness settings from the main menu of the unit itself back and forth until you get the correct brightness to your liking. With everything properly connected, it’s still quite a nuisance. Tolerable, but could be better. -Phone call microphone audio is misleading. When using Bluetooth and/or CarPlay, callers can barely hear you unless you literally choose the Bluetooth section from the units main home menu, and suddenly microphone audio is crystal clear for callers. If you’re connected to your phone and using CarPlay, callers can barely hear you properly, it’s very muffled and quiet. -No way to load up your own wallpaper images through USB/SD card, images will load and show properly to be viewed on unit, but there is no way to actually set and use your own custom wallpaper. -Auto Link unfortunately only works with iOS devices using firmware version 15 and below. Nothing newer will work. -No proper HD Radio features(song titles/artist/album info, etc.). Not a must have feature, but it would be nice considering everything else this unit includes. -It’s tough to get ahold of proper customer service when trying to get help for these types of issues/questions. In general, the unit is good, for some. But I would not recommend it to some users. Unit requires lots of fiddling around on an almost regular basis to get it to a proper “daily driver” comfort level setting. I wouldn’t recommend this to your everyday average consumer, it would be better to pay the extra and buy a Pioneer or Alpine unit if you don’t want to deal with the issues I’ve listed above. ... show more

I purchased this mainly for the backup camera for the 2009 RAV4. In order to complete the installation, I had to purchase; 1. Wiring harness - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BEQJ8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 2. Double din installation kit - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9JMZJZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I like the final outcome of this purchase. I had to communicate with the via WhatsApp several times and CS responded within (12 to 24 hours). When camera trigger did not worked they provided me with a different wiring diagram. I had to redo all the wiring to the reverse light and after that camera started functioning properly. It is fresh after installation. Therefore, I cannot say more about it. But I really like what I see at the moment. Pros. Quick bluetooth connection. Can turn the screen off. Can change the button illumination colors. Cons. Takes several seconds to turn on. The double din trim is bit small. So I had to use a file on the sides. This does not support mirror function for Android beyond 10.1 and for iOS beyond 15.3. Although the main reason for the purchase of this unit is the backup camera it gave us more than what we expected. Comfortable recommending this unit to others. ... show more

I installed this stereo in my 04 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS. It is not a direct fit as I had to Robles with the rear of the radio hitting the stock support. Because of this I could not install the faceplate. I was able to discard the faceplate and allow the radio to protrude the the original opening of the dash and fortunately it didn’t look as bad as I feared when I realized the only way to use this stereo was for it to stick out. I the second microphone I pulled beside the radio as the wire is too short to run along the pillars as I wanted. So far the only issue is the microphones make it hard for your callers to hear you because of external noise. But ala in all not bad for the price. ... show more

    • The radio doesn't shut off
The on and off button on this radio does not shut off only with the ignition key they did not make the button with good standards to shut it off and on the radio works fine but on and off button has a flawed work on this I left it on my truck because I don't feel like taking it back out again unless you send me a new radio that doesn't have that problem then I will send this one back to you in the same box with the stuff that I don't need back to your company thank you Sincerely good customer ... show more
