  • Good value, works as expected!
The product is great! Connects remotely over Bluetooth with both Android Auto and Apple Car play - which is the main thing I was looking for when purchasing a new system. The UI is great and intuitive - very responsive albeit a little slow at time. However, the Android Auto and Car play support, this is a non-issue. I also bought this since it comes with an included backup camera. My wife loves it! The viewing angle is 140 degrees, which is just enough to see directly behind the vehicle. The quality is decent as well, which given this comes included with the entire system, I really wasn't expecting. Everything else works well, as expected at this price point! ... show more

  • Easy to install, great sound, intuitive interface
Replaced a factory radio in 2007, and it looks amazing and such a huge upgrade for the price. The radio looks sleek, starts up instantaneously, and wireless CarPlay works flawlessly. The touch screen is very responsive and the interface is fast. The radio sounds great and has plenty of power for my needs. Setting up steering wheel controls was a breeze. ... show more

  • Amazing screen!
What can I say about this radio? In simple words, it's just amazing. Extremely smooth, the connection to Android Auto is seamless with no issues whatsoever, and the best thing, the customer support. I had to do an update to the firmware since there were some minor bugs with the sound equalizer, and Emma was able to help me through the entire process, no questions asked. The support was just amazing! This radio was a gift to my mom and she's truly in love with it. The installation was a piece of cake and everything fits perfect on it's place. Just no complains whatsoever. For the price, the quality is just simply another level. This is not an android aftermarket radio, the OS is based on a Linux system, so there's no such thing as downloading YouTube or Netflix to it, but for what my mom uses it for, it's perfect since she only wanted the wireless android auto functionality, and this 10.1 inch radio is exactly what she needed it for. I recommend this for anyone that's looking for a budget aftermarket radio at a low price but with an unmatched quality. Thank you Emma for all the help! ... show more

  • Plus size upgrade for the persistent DIY enthusiast
It's a good, well functioning, well performing unit with no bugs, but can be challenging to physically install and get the SWC (steering wheel controls) working. It's quick to respond with no lags, but the SWC support is mediocre in my experience with GM Bose controls using a CANBUS adapter. I think this is because these aftermarket stereo units need to satisfy the lowest common denominator of analog input signaling. The newer cars have digital CANBUS signaling, so the converter/interface box is needed. The install of the rear camera can be challenging if you have an SUV because of the tailgate. Getting the wire through the headliner and down through the crowded narrow wire conduit with 8 other wires can be challenging. I used an old metal strip from a windshield wiper to snake it through, electrical taped the fat RCA jack head to snake and got it through with some vegetable oil. The issue is breaking connectors on the tailgate trim, getting it back on with all the old wiring while supporting the weight by yourself. Goes easier with a 2nd pair of hands. The Yellow RCA rear camera wire was NOT long enough for my full size SUV. I had to use an RCA barrel connector and a 2nd 6 foot cable to get it to the stereo location in the center of the dash. The light power for the rear camera is a separate connection that I spliced into the rear tailgate backup lights. I had to reverse the wires because the hot wire on the camera, which should be red, was wired as black. I was a little annoyed at this after doing such a nice clean splice job, but I had to cut the wires and flip them. This wire crossup could have been eliminated on my part if I had a clamp amp meter or voltage detection pen that went down to 5V. Alas my tools only detect down to 12V and 50V respectively. Most everything else was straight forward soldering and shrink tubing. All 8 speaker wires were straight forward. I left the Corehan parking brake signal wire open because I don't want the stereo disabling if the parking brake is on anyway. The illumination, backup /reverse wire, are all straight forward. The Corehan unit only has one SWC input labeled "Key 1". I used the Crux GM-49 CANBUS translator/adaptor to get the analog signals that the Corehan needs. But the Crux adapter outputs 2 SWC wires red and white (black is the cable shield that splices to the stereo Black ground wire). Corehan support has been helpful, but it's been about 6 email exchanges and I can only get Vol+, Vol-, Prev, and Source to work on the SWC. The Next and Call buttons either do not generate a signal from the Crux unit or the Corehan isn't able to register the frequency signal to program the appropriate button response. I have the white SWC output wire open and when spliced with the Red wire, nothing works. So the SWC solution between Crux and Corehan is only an 80% working solution. Maybe I'm being picky. Another thing is that the GM radios have a Mini-USB female in the stereo and a Male Mini-USB that powers the dash USB under the windshield. The Corehan has a Female USB-A wire, so I had to get a Female Mini-USB to Male USB-A adapter for another $6. That and the extra RCA wire, RCA barrel extension connector (female to female) and the plastic dash mounting kit set me back about another $20 and 1 week that I wasn't planning on. So overall, it depends on the car you have, how new it is, if the vehicle has digital or analog SWC controls and if you'll have to use a CANBUS adapter. For me the frustration and challenge has been in the SWC controls mainly. That and breaking a few clips and a broken button on the rear tailgate after reassembly. ... show more

  • Super-sized, inexpensive wireless CarPlay unit
This thing is huge. Maybe a little too big for my application, but the hardware is actually really good. I installed it into a 1994 Camaro, and those stock radio spaces are a bit non-standard. Some trimming was required, but I assume if I had used a double-din kit, installation would have been better. One thing you do have to realize is that the trim you use may make it problematic if you can't get it around the screen, or otherwise. The wireless CarPlay is pretty much immaculate with the amount I've used it. I have another Android-based unit in another vehicle, and it sometimes has to be rebooted. This has not happened here, which is a huge improvement. It is a slight shame it is Linux-based, as you can't (to my knowledge) install third-party apps on here. It would be awesome to use something like Torque to measure 0-60, etc, but then again I don't have OBD2 capability. The screen is great, and responsive enough for CarPlay. I wish it had a little more adjustment in RGB for the buttons, but a minor gripe. My speakers aren't very loud, but then again this is an old car and I can't blame it on the radio. Speaking of the radio tuner, no complaints there. Seems to get as good of reception as I would expect otherwise. I'm happy with it, particularly for the price I paid. I'm not sure you can get wireless CarPlay much cheaper. The only thing I would really change is having a dial for volume, but I'll survive. ... show more
