Considering the price I went into this project with fairly low expectations and can honestly say I have been pleasantly surprised. My son has a 2002 Chevrolet Z-71 and had been begging for an upgrade from the factory stereo so he could listen to Apple Music and his playlists. After receiving quotes from $1000-$1500 from local car stereo companies I opted to tackle the project myself. The installation was fairly straight forward and everything went together and functioned as it should. After many years of having a Kenwood DDX series (with iDatalink) in my Jeep, it started to randomly reboot and the USB connection for Car Play and Android Auto went out so I needed a replacement. Looking at the big names like Kenwood, JVC, etc I found they were very expensive...Then I came across this car stereo and it had all the key features I wanted Plus it had Wireless Car Play and Android Auto, it is a fairly new product so did not find a lot of info on it but other radios got fairly good reviews . It uses universal color code for wires so it was pretty straight forward to connect. The unit starts up very fast 5 to 10 sec (at least compared to my old kenwood which could take up to a minute). I am more of an Android person so I use an S21, had no problem pair my phone and it works great wired and wireless Android Auto, I tested my my wife's iPhone and Car Play works with both as well. (Android was much faster pairing and reconnecting to the radio) I do not have an Amp but the sound is great for me (better sound than old Kenwood did). I would highly recommend this product due to the very easy self installation and the sound quality. As a person who has only done a couple of stereo installs, this product was very simple, the manufacturer made the installation as simple as possible with this product. The sound quality is absolutely amazing considering the price point for this item. All the features on this product are absolutely incredible, was very simple to set up via Bluetooth and iPhone mirror link. I have a lot to say about this product so bear with me. I do really like the stereo itself but I’m most likely going to get new speakers to pair with it. I have never done any electrical work before and this was relatively easy. I had an aftermarket radio in my car already so I had a wiring harness in the car already and just stripped the wire seals that were on off of it to connect it to the wires of the new stereo and put new seals on. The hardest part was the mounting frame but I believe it wasn’t a super good fit for my car, but i managed with zip ties. Do you adjust the bass and treble and all that you have to click on the screen when the volume comes up which is something I took me a couple days to figure out. The remote works really good.
