I love this helmet, overall. The visor is good in sunny conditions. I don't use the inside lens but it fits over my glasses and darkens things as advertised. The helmet is surprisingly quiet on the road at 60 mph and feels secure on my head. The quick release buckle is nice. I am happy to take a little sip of water while waiting at an intersection. The full face snaps securely into place and it really feels like a solid-state full faced. The extra lights on the back, I'm sure, help with being more visible. I was able to install my BT headset quite easily with good sized pockets for the ear speakers. They are a little less ideal for the mic as I realize it requires constant moves and tucks to fit it under the material under the chin. Still, no deal breaker. July 5, 2026: I needed a DOT compliant helmet to meet legal requirements for operating a motorized bicycle; also known as a moped. For my state, a standard bicycle helmet is inadequate. I had been considering several possible helmets (mostly less expensive), but I chose this one because: • I like the black & gold color scheme; • I like the integrated rechargeable LED lights. My bicycle helmet also has this feature. • I like that the chin cover is modular. That makes the helmet easier to put on; especially while wearing glasses. • There is space for installing speakers for Bluetooth communication and music. I installed a set and the process was moderately easy. • There is an integrated drop-down dark lens. • I like the secure quick-release chin strap. • There are two air vents which may be open or closed. I actually preferred a half or 3/4 open face DOT helmet but, after taking a motorcycle safety program (CMSP), I liked the extra safety of the full helmet. The modular is a good middle choice. The helmet seems huge to me, but it's a new experience that I'll get accustomed to. The weight is reasonable and the fabric of the liner is comfortable to the touch. A few things I've noticed after trying the helmet on: • The face shield doesn't interfere with viewing a phone screen. • The chin guard is secured by metal pins when down and stays in place when raised. • Visibility is clear with indoor lighting • The lens doesn't fog up as much as I feared. While riding, everything was great except that looking over my shoulder was difficult compared with a bicycle helmet. Overall, I like the helmet and am satisfied with the purchase. ... show more

This particular helmet is very stylish and true to size, however, I did order a XL and was sent a large, I'm actually glad they did because the large actually fits perfectly, but they sent me the wrong color than what I ordered as well, everything about the helmet is good and exactly as described, the back of the helmet light is a plus because it's very bright and you will be seen, the weight is pretty average for a full face helmet, the build quality is good and the noise level is average, you can easily put your own inner com system in the helmet to make it extremely convenient, as far as safety, it's better than nothing, all safety gear is always needed for anything traveling at high speeds, I do believe this particular helmet has great value for the money, and I easily recommend it to anyone who's in need of a nice stylish well built helmet. ... show more

Helmet is great a little dark at night but shade is really good for the brightest of days, still can see at night just slightly more dark than with a clear lenses ventilation is good it’s a good weight not too heavy but heavy enough to know I’ll be protected got a size to big and it seems to fit pretty well got a Large when I look over my shoulder it wobbled at first but after riding with it daily it seems to fit better, i definitely recommend this helmet the light on the back needs to be charged every night, and i get compliments for how it looks. ... show more

Pros: Feature packed; it has backlights, color visor, pull-down shades, modular face up and a wicked design. Literally everything I wanted. Cons: But it seems to fall flat from the cheaper materials and inconsistent sizing which, genuinely seems all over the place. Most reviews state it runs large, but the Orthrus's product listing stands by its sizing model, so I went with my regular measureed size and mine still ran very tight for some reason, not "tight because it's safe" more "so tight I can't chew/talk comfortably while wearing it. I'm reluctant to take this on the road because I feel it may cut off circulation. Pretty big inconvenience because I just wanna ride... ... show more

I decided to buy it with the positive reviews which I should not have replied on. First, when I open the box, I was stunned. The helmet and the visor were rolling around inside the box with no protection or any plastic wraps, not to mention any paperwork. It seemed to me that someone returned the item and the company or Amazon sent the box to me without opening the returned box. We don't know what route the box took in connection with the delivery and how carefully or badly the box was treated on its way. But sending a helmet in this condition is a big no no, and the seller should know better. The fitting was ok, but the tinted visor and the integrated dark visor are of very poor quality. The outer visor shows everything in different colors depending on the angle, which can be very dangerous on the road. The moment you put it on, you wish you had a clear visor, not the shinny non-functional tinted visor. You get some irritation and even pain in the eyes due to the bad quality tint. Avoid hassle by sticking to the brands you've been with. No need to waste money and time for something sketchy. ... show more
