I really wanted to love this helmet — and to be fair, there’s a lot to like — but comfort is a big deal when your skull’s the one inside it. Let’s start with the positives. The style and colors are spot-on. What you see in the photos is exactly what shows up at your door. The box even includes a pair of gloves and a half-face neck protector for cool weather — a thoughtful bonus you don’t always get at this price point. The features are genuinely impressive. The drop-down sun visor flips into place smoothly with a flick of the finger (a must-have for me), and the flip-up chin bar is something I didn’t know I’d appreciate until I tried it. Being able to lift the front to talk or grab a drink without taking off the whole helmet is a definite plus. Build quality is solid. It doesn’t feel cheap, the materials are decent, and the padding — while not on par with $500 Snell-certified helmets — is perfectly acceptable for this price range. Now for the downside: the fit. I ordered my usual XL, but the padding across the forehead presses in a little too firmly, to the point of discomfort. There is almost no padding at the forehead area edge.e Maybe it’ll break in over time… but I’m not holding my breath (mostly because I can’t — this thing’s squeezing it out of me). Bottom line: a good-looking, well-featured helmet for a fair price — just make sure your head shape and this helmet’s idea of “XL” are on speaking terms before committing. ... show more
