  • Great Quality but didn't fix the loose battery cable
I have a 2009 Chevy Traverse. These are a universal GM fit I think so they are not the exact shape slightly larger than my OEM. I noticed the tab channel is wider on the Dorman. Well, I swapped out the broken one with the new Dorman and it never gets tight on the terminal. I made sure the Dorman washer was seated at the very base of the terminal bracket and also got the tab to close neatly and it just never gets tight. I had to drive a tiny sheet metal screw in the opening in the cable clamp and now it fits tight. GOOD LUCK! ... show more

  • Two longer-slot units but you can make it work.
These terminal clamps are nearly perfect replacements for the OEM “pot metal” units. My only experience of concern is that the slots on one terminal (positive post) is not as long of a slot as the negative post clamp. As such, it will not pull on the lip so as to tighten the clamp around the post. I got around this by using a flathead to tap the clamp down upon the tapered terminal to (1) provide a tighter fit and (2) open the terminal so that it might actually tighten the clamp on the post. It seems to be working but I have made a mental note to repeat this if I have to remove the post clamp in the future. Be careful to not over tighten these as they may be the same type of poured mold metal (aka “pot metal”) as the OEM units which I simply broke by over tightening. ... show more

  • Crazy how you have to use an aftermarket nut to rescue your Mopar built Wrangler.
This nut fits the nut on the battery clamp compression fitting for jeep JK's. You know, that little nut you lost and replaced with a flat washer nut only to find your clamp comes loose at the most inopportune times and effectively kills your jeep until you tighten it up. Yeah, that nut. Yeah you know, the one you can't order from any website, even Chrysler parts sites. Well, the nut that comes in this Dorman part IS an exact fit replacement. You won't need the other part, just the nut. I lost the nut on two different JK's and this part allowed me to remove the *uhem "extra special tin foil fix" and return to near factory fit. ... show more

  • Seem very close to OEM parts
These parts do seem to be nearly identical to the OEM parts. But for me installing these new parts did not help. One of the sliding washers on my older GM vehicle had been broken for quite a while. I had been using a small hose clamp to keep the terminal ring tight. I had hoped that installing a new nut and washer might solve the problem for good. Unfortunately after installing these new parts I still could not achieve a tight fit on the battery terminal. The fact that the ring of the original clamp was a bit deformed likely added to the problem. Overall the whole clamp assembly is just a very poor design. After several tries I finally gave up. I bought two of the very old style heavy lead terminal clamps, I cut and stripped the cable ends and screwed them down tight to the back of the lead terminals. The new terminals did need to be turned to the side but for me there was plenty of room at the sides of the battery. Everything has been working perfectly for the last few months. The bare cable ends will likely corrode after several years, but then if needed I'll just cut the cable back a bit and retighten everything. ... show more

  • This is an answer to Prayer for me.
I knew that this was not made for my 2016 Kia Soul, but the nut was exactly like the one I lost while attaching my new battery. It had to be tapered to tighten the terminal and a locking nut would not work. Kia told me the terminal cable wiring for the positive side was $330.00 just for the part. I knew there had to be a better way than that. The adjuster parts do not fit my car, but the nuts are a M6 thread with a 10mm hex and that is what I needed. No one in town had the nut or this particular set in stock. I took a chance and it fits perfectly! ... show more
