To replace: 1. Unplug connector, may need to pull the grey plastic holder then squeeze the connector out. 2. Use 27mm deep well socket to loosen the sensor. A 2in extension and a universal joint are highly recommended. Remove sensor by hand. 3. I did not have a filter in my engine (LC9) but others have a filter you may need to replace. Use a long pick to pull filter and replace. 4. Install sensor by hand and tighten using 27mm deep well socket. 5. Plug sensor in and check oil pressure. My 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 was having weird oil pressure readings for the last couple months. During normal driving it would fluctuate but it seemed extreme (20-60 psi). It also didn't make sense in terms of when I stepped on the gas it wouldn't spike or let off the gas and it wouldn't drop. Then after a vacation my truck sat for a week and my oil pressure didn't come off of 0. So my truck threw the check engine light but no oil pressure light. Slowly drove around the neighborhood, with no ticking or noise coming from the engine. Swapped the oil pressure sensor/switch and the problem was fixed. Was looking for the AC Delco replacement but it wasn't available at the time. According to Amazon this Dorman part DID NOT fit my 2011 Silverado. After reading other reviews I found that someone had posted that it did in fact fit my vehicle. To be sure I cross referenced the number with auto zone and found it was actually the correct part. (Amazon needs to correct this on their site). It is in a tricky area on my vehicle but a good friend of mine was able to replace it. When I started the truck up it was still reading zero oil pressure. After thinking about it I realized that the truck had stored trouble codes. We erased the codes and restarted the truck and the gauge began reading the oil pressure again immediately. The Dorman replacement part works perfectly. ... show more

Had the common Chevy 6.2 sensor failure and instead of paying nearly double this at the local store I decided to just wait a day and save a ton of money and order on Amazon. Well worth it. Installed it without removing the intake (thank goodness for small hands) took about an hour all in all.
