Very sturdy and went on easy, the hardest part was removing the tube from the old one to get to the bolt. Works like a charm. Do not overt ighten though since there is no clicking stop when things a just snug and maybe check a week later. I replaced the factory one on my 2003 Chevy Avalanche. Be sure to replace the plastic catch on the tube with the one on the new hoist as the old one may be different and not snap on the new hoist. ... show more

    • It doesn't have the Safety Lock on this mechanism on the replacement part
It was nice and easy to install better than Factory don't have to lock in gear which I like when I had a flat I couldn't remove the spare what's a locking gear rusted shut and have to cut the wire get the spare out took me 2 hours I will recommend to convert this over from the factory one

    • Replace it before you need it.
Just do your future self a favor and replace the original GM hoist before you need to change a tire. It will nearly be impossible to get it down now. Pull the old one off and replace it with this in your driveway. Thank me later.
