  • Toyota Camry 2001 LE 4 Cyl. 280k miles
P0440 CEL Gone!. At first I replaced some cracked hoses under the hood but that did not solve the code p0440. After watching a couple of videos from YouTube, I decided to replace this canister. 150 mi. since replacement, CEL did not come back. Happy camper, my car performance seems to be better too. Not easy but not that difficult to install either. Had to jack up the rear and lower the muffler with the removal of two 14mm bolts that the canister mounted to take it out. Make sure to take pics of the hoses before removing them. For the price and labor, hope it will last long since it’s not a genuine parts. I’ll update this review in 6 months. ... show more

The price was too good and I wasn't spending 350+ on OEM the struggle so I ran with this I have been chasing this p0440 for about 3 months canister purge valve replaced didn't fix overfill check valve replaced didn't fix had to drop the tank then after all that I caved and low and behold it fixed it after months of troubleshooting this 140.00 unit fixed day before Christmas don't sleep on this canister you need to know what you are doing but it's fine no dropping the subframe just lower exhaust in the rear slide it out the back side 3 hr with jackstands and regular tools and patience dealer wanted 1200 no thanks we'll see how long it last but I am pleased with the purchase and it says lifetime warranty so the first was the original with 244,000 if I get a 100,000 it's worth 140.00 oh and I did the gas cap too 😁 ... show more

  • Check Engine Light Gone!
This item was delivered completely assembled, including hoses and hardware. I trust the DORMAN brand of products completely. It was a direct fit for my 2000 Camry and it eliminated the EVAP Error code from the ECU.

  • Dorman 911-630 Works with other Toyotas - See Review
I replaced the Dorman 911-630 charcoal canister today in my 2002 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L 4 cylinder. -The Amazon Website Fitment Tool says it will not fit but it does. -You can validate that searching at other online parts stores. -In the box the charcoal canister is shipped in, is a Dorman cut sheet that indicates to change out a hose to a different one (provided). The one installed on the canister and in the Amazon advertisement photo shows the smaller crookedly one already installed that fits my 02 Camry. The cut sheet indicates it will fit: a. 2000-04 Toyota Avalon b. 2000-01 Toyota Camry c. 2000-02 Toyota Solara Changing out the additional hose, the 911-630 can be used on the following applications (photo of hose to change out shown on the cut sheet page): a. 2001-02 Lexus ES300 b. 2002-03 Toyota Camry There are a couple of pretty good videos on line to show the work to be done. It took me about 4 hours in the driveway lying on my back but I did take my time and had to do some online research for two hose lines I didn't remember where they went. Not the easiest job unless you have it up on a lift. I'd rate it 2 out of 4 for difficulty and 3 out of 4 for aggravation (disconnecting lines and electrical connectors). -Make sure you use jack stands -Mark or take a photo of the hoses before you remove them so you know where they go back -Replace any hard or dry-rotted hoses with new same size hoses Tools - Common Metric 3/8" and 1/2" Metric Socket set with extensions and breaker bar -Make sure you have a 14MM deep well socket with your other metric tools to drop the Driver's side cross-member and some other bolts Oh so far so good - much better than paying big bucks at the dealers. Good luck - have fun! ... show more

Took two to get one that wasn't broken. The part was the reason for my codes and the car passed smog with flying colors. I'm Happy. Price was great also.

  • 2000 toyota camry 3.0 v-6
Had a stuborn po440. replaced gas cap wih genuine toyota part, tested purge valve and the vent valve, smoke tested system and found no leaks which led me to replacing the canister and finally fixing the issue. No check engine light returned now after 10 tanks of gas. Not too bad of a job if you remove the two bolts securing the front muffler bracket to the frame, then removing the rubber doughnut from the hanger at the rear of the muffler which lowers the exhaust giving you plenty of room to slide the canister out. My camry now has 345,550 miles on it and i will drive this gem until its fubar'd. ... show more

My long Journey of clearing codes p0440 - 41 - 46 is finally over. Obviously do your research and due diligence before recurring to this repair. This is a good option if you dont want the TOYOTA OEM. I like that it came with the vcv and pressure sensor with it. Easy to install if you know basic mechanics. ... show more
