  • Check Engine Light Gone!
This item was delivered completely assembled, including hoses and hardware. I trust the DORMAN brand of products completely. It was a direct fit for my 2000 Camry and it eliminated the EVAP Error code from the ECU.

  • Dorman 911-630 Works with other Toyotas - See Review
I replaced the Dorman 911-630 charcoal canister today in my 2002 Toyota Camry LE 2.4L 4 cylinder. -The Amazon Website Fitment Tool says it will not fit but it does. -You can validate that searching at other online parts stores. -In the box the charcoal canister is shipped in, is a Dorman cut sheet that indicates to change out a hose to a different one (provided). The one installed on the canister and in the Amazon advertisement photo shows the smaller crookedly one already installed that fits my 02 Camry. The cut sheet indicates it will fit: a. 2000-04 Toyota Avalon b. 2000-01 Toyota Camry c. 2000-02 Toyota Solara Changing out the additional hose, the 911-630 can be used on the following applications (photo of hose to change out shown on the cut sheet page): a. 2001-02 Lexus ES300 b. 2002-03 Toyota Camry There are a couple of pretty good videos on line to show the work to be done. It took me about 4 hours in the driveway lying on my back but I did take my time and had to do some online research for two hose lines I didn't remember where they went. Not the easiest job unless you have it up on a lift. I'd rate it 2 out of 4 for difficulty and 3 out of 4 for aggravation (disconnecting lines and electrical connectors). -Make sure you use jack stands -Mark or take a photo of the hoses before you remove them so you know where they go back -Replace any hard or dry-rotted hoses with new same size hoses Tools - Common Metric 3/8" and 1/2" Metric Socket set with extensions and breaker bar -Make sure you have a 14MM deep well socket with your other metric tools to drop the Driver's side cross-member and some other bolts Oh so far so good - much better than paying big bucks at the dealers. Good luck - have fun! ... show more

  • Eliminated our Evap Fault code
Pulled old one off and installed this one in its place and ran the care for about 200 or so miles and the fault code for the evap system finally went away so we could pass inspection.

  • Not the answer to your prayers
I bought this on the insistence that my one small EVAP system leak was certainly a canister after replacing everything else... installed it and took the car through several drive cycles to reset the monitors... it went from one code p0420(small EVAP system leak) to every single EVAP code the computer has. Once again I got junk delivered to my house... you would be better off going to the wrecking yard and buying a used one for half the price because in the long run it's going to be half the headache as well. ... show more

  • Exact fit
Part works very well.

  • Only lasted a year. Very disappointed.
Bought this as a replacement for the original 14-year-old canister in a Toyota Avalon. There are only a few reasons these go bad, but bad habits by the driver/gas-filler wouldn't be the explanation why this one broke down so quickly, as it's been used by the same person in both cases. I suspect the Dorman canister is priced so much lower than the OEM model because the quality is proportionally cheaper. On the up side, Dorman honored their warranty without any hassle whatsoever. So I think it's a decent company with a mediocre/bad quality product here. It stings a little if you have to pay someone to do the installations for you, twice in 2 years. (In the Avalon's case, the gas tank has to be dropped to get the canister out & in, which was more than I cared to tackle in my driveway with basic hand tools and a jack.) ... show more

This product was a perfect match for my 2001 Toyota Camry. I was able to pass my emissions test with 290, 000 miles on my car!
