I purchased the item for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler, my engine light has been bothering me for the past 6 months, I’ve had my gas cap changed several times(which helped with the code), and check the wiring with the evap system…anyway…I installed the item and it was perfect at first, the quality of the valve is great, it is comparable to the original one. My engine light didn’t ding for a few weeks. Then after a few weeks, I noticed a whirring sound with my Jeep(the same noise you hear when you turn it off) so I didn’t pay it no mind..the whirring noise started to go off almost every few minutes. I took the new linear purge valve and re installed my old one (original). The whirring noise stopped. This purge valve might work for some but im not sure if it has something to do with it being an aftermarket purchased.     • I wish it came with the clips.
Would it kill them to include the clips with this? I could have have had this done in 2 minutes if I didn't have to spend 10 minutes trying not to break the clips removing them. That said it's on, lets see how long it last.

I have never had problems like this with a Dorman product. First one didn't work at all, which led me to replacing more parts still no fix. I circled back to this item, replaced and waa la check engine light goes off, for about 200 miles. Well there inexpensive so I'll try a 3rd, lasted about 1000 miles, it's getting better. Horrible. And I'm stuck with this one because it lasted more than 30 days, thanks for nothing Dorman. I have since order the mopar version fingers crossed Dorman is not their supplier ... show more

    • Quick and Easy yo Install
Fits perfectly and took care of evaporation leak codes. Very easy to install taking about 10 minutes. NOTE: Retaining clips are not included so you will need yo use the ones on the part you are replacing. Removal and transfer took about a minute using a very small flat screwdriver.
