Pros: It's solid, has great battery life (with my use I get about 3-4 days runtime before needing to charge), survives water (dropped in sink of warm soapy water by accident), and the thermal camera is better than I was expecting. The night vision is amazing and the 'super' night vision works way better than expected. The biolock on the side works well, I was a little concerned about it but no longer. Cons: Not as loud as I was expecting, since it was advertised with 4 speakers, but still louder than most phones. Call volume is a bit lacking, often I just put it on speaker. Bottom line up front focusing on the actually unique capabilities of this phone: This is a solid high battery capacity phone with both NIGHT VISION and THERMAL VISION on board. The Body is metal/carbon fiber, the screen is fine, and the dual speakers are loud. But it is held back to a large degree by QC issues such as buggy finger print sensor, or misaligned thermal camera. This outclasses the V20 Pro in all ways except the screen (V20Pro is OLED, V31GT is LCD). V20 Pro cam software is slightly less good, screen min brightness is very high, screen max brightness is very low rendering it too bright at night and too dim in the sun. V20 Pro has wireless charging though. Now getting into a few more details: Fingerprint sensor is incredibly bad and can trigger on any finger regardless of fingerprint. I added my thumb but all 10 of my finger tips can unlock even with a light tap, its actually kind of funny. Also, touching the fingerprint sensor at all while using the phone acts as some sort of "interaction" so if you are watching a video, it will constantly bring up the video's controls unless you avoid touching the sensor what so ever. Normally this isn't as big of a problem, but due to this phones weight you end up touching it often. The thermal camera is GREAT and I can attest that in proper outdoor conditions like during a cool night, I can see objects such as trees, plants, small objects with ease at 800-1000 feet. Small living things will be harder to spot though simply as a by product of the sensor resolution. It is the same sensor as on the V20 Pro, but it has better software somehow. Side by side the V31GT is much "clearer" while the V20 thermal image is incredibly noisy comparatively. Additionally, the thermal camera is better isolated from the phone's onboard flashlights which means if you are using your flashlight or IR lights you wont be heating the thermal sensor reducing its effectiveness to the same degree as you would on the V20 Pro where all onboard flashlights are only a few mm away. Last note regarding the thermal camera on the phone, MINE WAS NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY. as in, it was tilted 15 degrees off level compared to any other camera sensor. I've never in my life had a phone with an off level camera, but I wanted to note this even though I talked so highly just above about this. This is more QC than performance issues to be fair though. NV camera is GREAT, it is the same as the one on the V20 Pro, but the on board IR lights are MUCH more powerful with a much higher candela enabling viewing objects at 2-3x the distance of the V20 Pro. That said, a 15 dollar IR flashlight will increase the range of either of these two phone's NV capability to many 100s of feet. Battery capacity is AMAZING and has a "reverse charging" feature where the phone acts as a power bank to charge other stuff. This is great and I use it for my watch and GPS unit. The body of the phone is nice and sleek for a 10Ah battery phone. There is a defect in one of the speaker grills with a piece of small metal stuck in it. Also the ring around the thermal camera was scratched, this is cosmetic but worth noting as it arrived in this way. I am personally going to swap my V31GT for another in hopes that has a correctly aligned thermal camera, properly operating fingerprint sensor, and no build issues with the phone speakers/body damage. Because there really is no phone on the market that gives you this range of features on board at this price point. ... show more

Switching from a Samsung, this is a way better phone. I read some complaints about the software freezing, but I didn't have that issue. However, I downloaded Nova Launcher to use instead of the default, so maybe that's why (I just prefer some of its features). The thermal imaging camera is awesome, although it's takes a while to start up when you launch it. Also, it's not immediately clear, but to access the thermal camera, launch the "infiRay" app. I didn't even realize at first, but the normal camera has a night vision mode you can turn on as well. Of course, the battery life is amazing, and I normally only charge it ever 3 or so days. No complaints about the speed or performance. It also has an "extra dim" setting for the screen brightness, which I like to use at night. ... show more

Returning because the picture quality is really low, worse than a $100 bottom of the line phone I have in some respects (it can only take super close range photos in any kind of quality). This my 1st Dodgee phone. I'm coming from a umidigi bison GT2 pro 5g. This phone is better in CPU and battery performance. Night vision and thermal is a great option for me due to being a maintenance worker. Only place this phone lacks is the camera. The pics are not bad, but my bison GT2 did take better pics. I also switched from At&t to T-Mobile. TMobile are unlocked phone friendly and operates better. I'm satisfied with my purchase mainly for the thermal camera. It is accurate and has many features.
