Great playing guitar! Action was perfect. Easy to bend. Not too high or low. Tuners are actually good. Nut cut properly (which is a common weak spot on budget guitars). Frets were almost all level. 2 frets were SLIGHTLY off. Couple of gentle hacks solved it. The only weak spot is the pickups. They're ok. No feedback or noise issues. They're just weak and don't sound great. They're acceptable. For the money it's a 5 🌟 ... show more

The Donner DMT-66 is a charming little guitar, that with a setup and a little love, can be a fantastic player for an entry-level price tag. Frets were level and fret ends were filed flush, but not rounded, only requiring a some minor fret end filing and a good polishing. The maple neck is finished in a satin poly and feels good in the hand, however, it had a massive underbow out of the box, which I was able to straighten with the truss rod. The neck is now dead straight with nice string action. Tuners are smooth and hold tuning well. Tremolo bridge is cheap but not much worse than a Squier bridge. I had to drop saddle heights significantly, which exposed a good section of the saddle height screws. They are M3x10mm and could be replaced with 6mm to save your skin , which I've done. Pickups have ceramic magnets, which sound pretty good with a cranked amp. They aren't microphonic or noisy. I did find that lowering the single coil pickups is a bit difficult as they're screwed into the body and don't offer much travel inward. I changed out the knobs for knurled steel Tele knobs. When pulling off the Tone knob the potentiometer shaft snapped off and came with it. I was able to snap the shaft back in place and it still works. Pots and switch are the cheapest you can imagine. Mini pots made from pot metal... But they do their job. Some reviews erroneously say this is a child size guitar. It has a slightly smaller body and a very tiny headstock, which makes the guitar look like a 3/4 size, but it's full size scale length, 25.5", which most Fenders use. The small headstock is actually quite genius as it completely eliminates neck dive. This guitar is nice and light, roughly 6.5 pounds. Very nice to play around on with no shoulder pain. I will provide a picture with the Donner hanging next to other guitars to demonstrate size. For the price, you honestly can't beat Donner's guitars. Although I wouldn't say they're gig ready, as it'll require a basic setup and minor fret and nut dressing. ... show more

Great guitar..tuned it, plugged it and played straight out of the box. Nice sound and tone quality. Didn’t come with the cord to plug up to an amp, may be the reason the black is cheaper than the rest!
