  • Best Investment Ever!
The media could not be loaded. Our senior pitbull, Willie, was diagnosed with heart disease and chronic bronchitis a few months ago and we were told to keep his walks short and to not let him over exert himself. I had already been considering a stroller/wagon because he’s 13 and has some slight arthritis and is just slow now too so his new diagnosis made me decide to do it. I did I lot of research, read a million articles and reviews, watched YouTube videos and talked to friends, family and our online community about their experiences and I ultimately decided on this Doggyhut Premium XL. I’m soooooo happy with my decision! It’s exactly what I wanted and more! Willie is an American Pit Bull Terrier and he weighs 79lbs. He’s very thick and stocky and he fits perfectly in the XL, with room to spare for a small water bowl and/or his leash or anything small. I also purchased the pad that fits on the bottom that is sold separately on Amazon and I recommend it, especially if you have a big dog and/or an old dog. The bottom of the stroller/trailer is just the fabric so he definitely needed a pad to lay on for support. But if you have a bed that fits the measurements of the stroller, that would work well too! We just didn’t have a bed that we wanted to use in it. The pad works perfectly though and has a removable cover than can be washed (we’ve already washed it once). The stroller actually handles better than I thought it would! I can push him through grass, gravel, dirt paths, rocky hiking trails, etc, and I’m 5’3”, 110lbs. I wanted one specifically with 3 wheels, instead of 4, because I read they handle way better and so far it’s been amazing! I love that the handle bar is adjustable so both me and his Dad (who is 6’) can both push it comfortably. Willie absolutely loves his stroller and jumps in to lay down when he’s tired and sometimes refuses to get out! Lol. We took our time to get him used to it because we wanted him to really love it. For the first couple days I just put it in the backyard with the brakes on and taught him a “place” command for him to get inside and lay down. He had no problem getting in or out by himself. I just let him lounge in it and fed him treats. And on the 3rd day I had his Dad come out and push it slowly finally while I walked up front and fed him treats. (he can have issues with things moving while he’s on them so I wanted to take it slow). This all worked out great and he really really loves his stroller! Like I said, there are brakes so you can lock it in place when stopped and when loading and unloading. I saw some people had issues with it tipping slightly when the dog got in or out and we thought we might have to get add a kickstand to it but we haven’t experienced that problem at all. The front has both a screen the zippers up for air flow and also a thicker clear plastic cover that you can zipper up if it’s cold or raining. The top zips and unzips and the back does as well. There are also 2 pockets on the back flap to store water bottles, leashes, small bowls, treats, etc and there is another small pocket on the top for your keys, cellphone, leash, doggy bags, treats etc. I added a cup holder that I got off Amazon to the handle bar and I added a baby stroller fan that I got off Amazon to the inside for him when it’s hot. The fan also doubles as an led light and works great at night as a headlight for the stroller or just as a light to see inside for things. I wish I could add more videos but Amazon only allows one. I wanted to give a thorough review after having it for a couple months because I read every review on here and wished there were even more. Oh and I have a friend who owns the Burley XL Bark Ranger that’s $700 and we both like the Doggyhut better! It was very easy to assemble too. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to release the wheel pin but that was just our own stupidity. Lol. The wheels pop on and off very easily and this fits in the back of my car (Honda Element SUV) without even taking the wheels off. Probably most SUVs you would just have to pop the wheels off first…my car is very wide. I haven’t had to fill the tires at all yet and I use it all the time. I haven’t used the bike trailer function yet (I’m nervous because of how big Willie is and how small I am, lol) but I do plan on trying it soon and I will definitely come back and update my review. Hopefully this helps someone else decide if it’s right for them! I couldn’t be happier with our purchase and I keep saying that this was the best purchase I’ve made in year! Haha. I hope you find what you’re looking for for your pup! ... show more

  • Fun time for me AND for my 4 legged babies
Highly recommend it! My husband is NOT a handy guy so I pulled up Youtube and we followed the video how to put it together and we were done in less than an hour! 1st Check! Then I hooked it up with my regular mountain bike with zero problem. It looked tricky first but its very easy to tighten back the rear axle quick release. Today i attached the hitch to my electric bike rear axle and that was a piece of cake too. I tried it out and Definitely no sharp turns. I got the xxl because i have 3 dogs (55lbs boxer 25lbs mini and 15 lbs toy) they all fit in the trailer with even extra space for water bottle and a bowl. They were not wearing a leash so i barely opened the hood for them however air still flows through. Dont hesitate to buy this. My dogs got in on a blink of an eye. Fun times nightly bike rides here we come. Family time. ... show more

  • Worth the $$$
I am happy with my purchase, i have another dog stroller but it’s smaller and now that my dogs are bigger we needed un upgrade. I have not use it for a bike yet but I am going to. I also ordered the matching bed with it because it looks nice but I think if you got the right measurements you could just get a bed at the store if that’s a cheaper price and nicer but my dogs enjoy it and negative is that the first time my dog Road in it he attacked the front, so there are some hole marks in it, and the reflectors fell out . I’m just going to try to put some patches over it. But that’s more my dogs behavior. he only attacked that the first time and now he loves it so maybe monitor your dog as they get used to it. I’m also going to place another order for that attach on holder. ... show more

Love it! Have an old dog that has hardware in both front legs and cancer so can't get around as well as he used to. He loves this. I can take him out and stop and let him sniff as needed. And can walk my younger pup at same time. Wish I would have gotten sooner. Have not used as bicycle attachment yet but stroller is great 👍 ... show more

  • EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED IT WOULD BE!
The media could not be loaded. I included as many random objects in my photo as possible for size comparison. Size XL. As you can see, both of my Australian Shepherds (black male is 40 lbs and merle female is 50 lbs) can and will fit in it together but it is a little snug for both of them. Which is fine because my male has terrible hip dysplasia so it’s primarily for him. I could have definitely gotten by with the large size, but this way no one feels left out. It was super easy to put together. It took me about 15 minutes by myself and I could have cut it down to 10 minutes if I had used an actual screwdriver instead of the pair of scissors I found in my coffee table. It is a bit on the heavy side, but it rolls so smoothly and easily that I only notice it when putting it in my car. It folds up easy enough and I really like the quick release on the wheels. It will also double as a travel crate for vet visits very nicely. Now my boy won’t have to miss out on our morning runs. Exactly what I needed to keep his quality of life on par as he ages. ALSO THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN UPDATED AND IT NOW INCLUDES 2 PARKING BRAKES. I saw so many reviews about the lack of a parking brake being a problem that I almost didn’t buy it. I’m so glad I did! ... show more

  • Large dog approved!
The media could not be loaded. This stroller is perfect! This stroller is fantastic on every metric. It is well-constructed with heavy duty materials and great pockets for her treats, water bowls, and leash. We added plenty of pillows and blankets to the solid, waterproof bottom so that she is able to sit comfortably and she seems to enjoy the ride. She prefers to have the sunroof open so that she can see off to the side and her biggest complaint is sometimes we don't bike fast enough. The leash inside nicely clips onto her harness as an extra precaution, but she seems pretty secure in there. In the event of a rain shower, the top zips closed and the plastic sheet goes down in the front to prevent her from getting wet. Last time this happened, she just laid down and stayed dry. Note: the outside pockets did fill up with water, but if you keep your things in the stroller, they will be fine. While the stroller is large and a bit heavy, it pulls easily and can be lifted and loaded into the back of the SUV without collapsing though it is also easy to collapse. My sweet girl is getting older, so while she enjoys running some of the bike trail (and stopping for swims!), it is wonderful to have this stroller for her to hop into when she needs a break. ... show more

  • Driving Miss Athena
The media could not be loaded. **I have not used it as a bike attachment at this point, only as a stroller** Overall I'm happy with my decision to buy this item. I'm able to take my girl on much longer walks, or give her a break if she's hot/tired/just not feeling it at the moment. It's also nice to keep her contained if we are in town. She weighs 71 pounds. I googled a video for how to assemble, because I felt the instructions were unclear/lacking (as far as the back wheels were concerned). I was a little concerned with how I was going to transport, since it's a bit large (has to be, to carry a large dog). But the back wheels easily come off and it folds into itself; I use bungee chords to attach it to the inside of my vehicle (propped on the side). I recommend measuring your vehicle if you don't have a roof rack/storage. The brakes on both sides are a nice touch, especially if your dog needs some help getting in. It sits low to the ground so the access into the back is very easy. I don't care that they are in front of the tires instead of behind. Works just as well, they are for "parking", not for slowing! My friend has a slightly older model and has trouble with it tipping backwards depending on where the dog stands/sits. I haven't noticed this issue, maybe since it's a newer model. Just something to be aware of overall with any kind of stroller/wagon. I always hold the handle when she's entering/exiting. My dog takes a long time to relax and sit or lay down in it, so it probably feels a little unstable. But you just maintain awareness of your speed and the sidewalks/gravel/turns and it's fine. My only real complaint is the front wheel is not good. Maybe it got less attention because that part pops off for the bike attachment. But it can wiggle rapidly back and forth (like a grocery cart wheel that's out of whack). I think it's just how small plastic wheels can be, but I'm no expert. I wish it was more like the back tires. I've recommended it to several people now. Enjoy the pictures/videos of my girl enjoying the drive. ... show more

  • Sturdy and nice unit
But our dog was too large. Advertised for up to 100lbs, our 95 lb Kuvaz couldn’t fit due to long legs and large dog. Very expensive to return, charged an $11 restocking fee in addition. Buy with caution if your dog is large.

  • Got the big one for my big boy. It's great! One flaw.
I wanted a way to take my buddy with me on scooter adventures. This fit the bill perfectly. I had to modify the tow mount a bit for my rig, but I expected as much. The bolted on leash is adjustable and the buckle slips. I added a few stitches to mine to permanently secure it at the correct length. Don't need that failing at the wrong moment. I suggest acclimatizing your dog to the rig while not hooked up to a tow vehicle, in grass if accessible. Mine had to get used to it a bit, which was spastic at moments. After some training, and a lot of bacon, he started to understand the cocept and now very much enjoys going on adventures. He used to get sad when he saw me gearing up for a ride. Now he follows me and wags his tail. Might start looking for a matching set of helmets for us 😁 ... show more

  • Very sturdy and smooth
Both my dogs love riding in this. It’s super smooth-riding and they can see what’s going on around them. It’s large enough for an elderly 20-pound terrier and a growing 30-pound labradoodle puppy. They can ride without getting in each other’s space. The big rear wheels go on and off fast for transport and the handle folds down easily and doesn’t have to be removed when you’re not using it. Overall, I recommend the carrier. ... show more

  • High quality
Very impressed with this. Previously purchased a different stroller for around the same price a couple years ago. The wheels were 1/4 the size of this one with absolutely no tread to speak of, and started bending inwards after a while, making it impossible to steer. My dog is heavy, and the tread and steerability on this is fantastic. I barely have to exert any effort at all on flat ground, and only small to medium effort on hills. So far we've only taken it on pavement and used the stroller attachment, so I can't speak to its ability to handle other terrain or be used as a bike trailer. I will say I tried to hook this up to my bike already and it did not fit. Had to order a connector. Hopefully that works. If it doesn't I'll be very upset because it says universal fit that will work for most bikes. ... show more

  • Happy dog, happy owner
After comparing and contrasting competing products from both well known brands and knock-off brands alike, I think I definitely made the right choice choosing this trailer/stroller. This isn't the cheapest option out there, but I can't imagine any other option would beat it in terms of size and build quality. It was surprisingly intuitive and simple to assemble; most of the assembly is tool-free (and the one or two tools you need are provided). Most pieces just click into place, but it all turns out surprisingly sturdy. I have no concerns about my 75lb boy moving around and making parts loose. My one and only complaint is that I wish the back was the same safety-green color as the sides are (as opposed to dark gray). I wanted us to be as visible (if not more so) from behind as we are from other angles, so I added small LED bicycle lights to the rear. Despite this missed opportunity for a more safety-conscious fabric design, this is hands-down a 5-star product, even at this price point. ... show more

  • Item is. sturdy and has nice features, but the fabric isn't the strongest.
For reference, I got the XL. Anyways, I have a couple complaints about the product, but first I’ll list some pros: 1. Super easy to build, almost comes fully put together. 2. Feels sturdy, although fabric is cheap (see cons). 3. Very spacious and could fit two medium dogs. 4. Rides smooth in a straight line (emphasis on straight) Cons: 1. The “universal coupler.” So this was the most irritating part of my purchase. The so called universal coupler didn’t fit my bike at all. It was millimeters too small. When I referred to the manual for solution it told me to contact my bike manufacturer for solutions. LOL. So the solution to your flawed product is to put the burden on another manufacturer that is none the wiser? Didn’t appreciate that. Anyways, I had to use my own washer set to pseudo rig the coupler to my bike. It’s secure enough but annoying I had to go out of my way to get my own hardware. 2. Flipped on my first ride. So I tested the trailer in a parking lot with an odometer on my bike so I could gauge what the trailer could handle. After loading my dog in I took a very gentle turn at approximately 4mph according to my odometer… FLIPPED. I was astonished because I didn’t even see how it was physically possible at such a low speed. The turn was probable a little over 90°? Regardless, read on… 3. After the flip, the fabric immediately tore, leaving a massive hole in the front of the bike trailer. That’s right, the material used to cover this trailer cannot even withstand one single crash at 4mph. Very disappointed in the quality of material for the $230 price tag… UPDATE: Giving some extra credit to the customer service team who did their best to make thing right with me regarding the easily torn fabric. ... show more
