my SO needed a mat to put under her large dog crate. She has a whippet but he likes the extra large "house" and feels very comfy in there ... and while he's totally trained, she needed something slip resistant and durable as she is moving to a new spot where the crate will be in a more delicate location. I was initially disappointed in this mat -- as it's REALLY seemingly thin and also the underside seems to be less grippy than I wanted. But, in the end this is a really solid pretty darn amazing mat for any dog related need. It is indeed very thin, and super easy to vacuum, doesn't seem to collect any sludge or nasty stuff ... absorbs enough of what might spill or seep and actually sticks to wood and tile without any moving at all. Ideal for our needs. Super basics but totally gets the job done. Much better than your average entry way carpet or those foamy bath mat like ones. big Win! ... show more

I am using the liner under my dogs new crate. However, I may need to move it inside the kennel as my cat keeps trying to shred the edges with his teeth and claws. The mat itself is a bit thin and those kitty teeth and claws easily tear it. If you have a dog that likes to grab onto things or chew, this may not work for you. I have not had a reason to clean it yet but I did wipe it down before using it and it was easy to do. Overall it is serving the purpose I bought it for, but I am just not sure how long it will last. ... show more

I constantly foster or pick up strays; my house is a magnet for pups, and Bubba reels them in I guess. My XL kennel was donated to me and it didn’t have the bottom insert, I always put a sheet in the floor but it’s not ideal. When I seen this and it arrived it was perfect. I can lay it down and put the kennel on top of it and my carpet is protected. I then put a dog bed inside that fits corner to corner as well, for a pup’s comfort until I find them a fur-ever home! The price was budget friendly and quality/durability is fantastic. (Picture I placed it on top to show the perfect fit for my XL kennel.     • Great protection for the carpet.
Having carpet throughout most of the house, I was left with limited choices for the placement of the crate. Now, I can place the crate on the carpet and be sure that the metal won't cut into the carpet. In addition, if my pup has an accident while in the crate, the carpet is protected. It was very easy to cut to size. I left some overlap to protect the area further. ... show more

    • Great if your dog isn't a jerk!
I'm having issues with my dog destroying anything in her crate, so I put this underneath it in the hopes it would be better than the bare floor. It took her less then 2 minutes to pull it up and inside the crate and start shredding it. So if you have a dog who likes to shred stuff, this won't stand up to them. She was able to rip huge chunks of it out almost without any effort. Otherwise, it's a nice mat, and if you have a non-destructive dog, would be a good product. ... show more

I have several areas that I have food and water bowls out for my dogs. Especially when they drink, the fur around their mouths seem to soak and then dribble water as they walked away from the bowls. So, the standard size food and water bowl mats don't cover enough area and this is perfect. It's large enough, that I can cut it to whatever sizes I want for each area...perfect for me and my dogs ... show more

The best place for the crate for our puppy is unfortunately a carpeted area. I needed something that would accommodate our 36" crate. This mat fits the bill perfectly. My space is just about 38" so I ended up folding over the edge nearest theolding rather than cutting the mat and that posed no problem. Very happy with this mat ... show more
