  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Secure SUP
Just what we needed to protect our investment. Easy, secure and good price point. Works as designed.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Quality at an irksome price
OK it works great. Now our SUP is secure at the town rack and we don’t have to heave it up onto the car roof when we want to use it. But the price of this specialty item irks me and I wish I was smart enough to figure out a shortcut with a cheap bike lock. I guess I should be thankful someone figured it out. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Works awesome, just what I needed.
This product works great. I bought it to lock my SUP/surfboards to my roof-rack. It wasn't completely clear how the item works from the description. The DockLock is an item that looks like a key with an internal metal ring and arm piece. When extended the arm piece splits and can be secured around the bar in your leash plug on your board. After the arms are secured around the leash plug, you slide the lock revealing a ring on the opposite side which you then feed the cable lock through. With the cable lock in place everything is secure. The cable lock included has a combo on it. The whole system works great, is easy to use, and gives me the piece of mind leaving my board on my car while running into a store or grabbing some food. I personally wouldn't use for long term or overnight use, because it is a standard cable bike like that could most likely be cut with some bolt cutters. I also would strongly recommend buying the cable lock with the DockLock piece because the diameter of the cable lock has to be just right to fit the DockLock. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Clever, and adequate against the casual thief
This is a clever and very easy to use device to secure a SUP - I haven't seen another product that would work as well. Two adverse comments: First, the coiled cable is a pain to use; must be modeled after the cheaper bike cable locks - but SUP's travel by car or are just stored at one's home, cabin, etc. and not around a seat post. The cable would be much easier to use if it were a simple, non-coiled cable. Second, the cable and lock are adequate to secure against the casual or opportunistic thief, but not one with a cable cutter or other readily available tool. It does work adequately for my purposes, however, storing SUP's outside on a rack in a good neighborhood at the lake. I may buy more of the clip/connectors without the cable, and then put a nice padlock, with the shackle through the clip, and a regular cable of whatever diameter then secured by the closed padlock. This would make using the device less frustrating and with better aesthetics that the coiled blue cable. I will not return the coiled cables (since I knew what I was getting), but will give them to some kid with a cheap bike. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars It does the job.
Locking and unlocking easy... pulling the coils out so you can get to that part not so easy. I understand the need for small packaging, but this product would be much easier to use if the cable was not coiled at all during manufacturing.( I wish all coiled cabling for locking items would stop So it behaved more like rope. Doesn't need a blister pack for packaging. Simple card display blank with zip ties ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars easy to take on and off
I own several and have used the product for about one year. It is well made, easy to take on and off, fits into the leash plugs on several kids of boards and SUPs, and has never caused damage to boards. To prevent scratches, I take great care to avoid touching a board with the metal end of the coil, the only part that is not covered with soft plastic. Boards are often stolen from garages, so mine are tethered to structural 2x4s in an unfinished garage. Obviously, if someone really wants to steal a board, they will find a way to cut through this. However, this product gives me some peace of mind; an impulsive or less-prepared thief will simply move on to an unsecured board. After paying thousands of dollars for boards, why not spend a few bucks and a little time to use a theft deterrent? Highly recommended. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great combo to secure my paddleboard
The locking jaws that clamp onto the leash base works great and the lock combination tumbles smoothly. I use this lock and cable to secure a paddleboard on the side of a boat, held up by an outdoor rack. While the marina is secure, this really adds to my sense of comfort in leaving the board in an easily accessible position. I wish there was a way to secure a short loop of thin nylon rope between the clamping device and the cable as there is a little bit of risk of dropping this thing off a marina slip into some murky waters below when taking the lock off. ... show more
