What a great gift! Such a large variety of tools given in this set. The case itself is very nice and sturdy. It has little locks so it doesn't just fling open. This is a nice kit to take with you if you need to help a friend and fix all the household things. It has several common sizes of bits and such, but also some of the odd balls. This set has been used several times already and is a nice first tool set or an addition to what you already have. The tools have not broken or become weak with use either.

Good basic tool-kit at a reasonable price. Tools themselves are not super high-quality, but will "serve the purpose" for most people, when it comes to simply needing a quick-fix at home or roadside. Not all the tools fit firmly in place, and that is frustrating. It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to manufacture a case to fit all of its components well... or vice versa. Some other reviewers here have mentioned that a thin piece of packing-foam will keep the parts from rattling while being transported, but I personally don't want to have to do that. It's not that it's a huge hassle... For me, it's the principle of the matter. Not fantastic, but not horrible, either. And, I do think the value is there. A decent kit for the money. Overall, four stars...

The DNA Motoring Tools 160-piece auto and home tool set with storage case is ideal for an around the house collection of handy tools or for keeping in the car in case of trouble on the road. Or, as a gift for a young driver or new homeowner. I have a lot of tools at home, but I needed something to keep in my car in case of an unexpected breakdown. This tool set is exactly what I had in mind, and will supplement the lithium starter backup battery and the battery operated air compressor that I keep in case of roadside trouble. The tools are near professional quality; well above what most homeowner’s tools are usually found to be. Most of the tools have a chrome finish and, for those that need it, a soft rubber grip (like the ball peen hammer). There is a measuring tape and a fairly complete ratchet/socket set, both in standard and metric. There are three kinds of pliers, an assortment of screw drivers, and a nice set of open/box end wrenches. There is also a retractable box cutter. These tools all come in a heavy duty molded plastic case in which the tools snap firmly into their assigned spot. The exception to this is the 19 sockets that will fall out when you open the case, wrong side up (lesson learned). I think a 4” socket extension, some vicegrip pliers, and a rechargeable headlamp would make this set of tools stellar, instead of just superb. Nevertheless, it is no problem to add these to my roadside emergency kit, and then I’ll be good to go.

Would be better it the quality is increased. Some tools feel like cheap plastic. For the price you can get better sets. The case holds all the pieces and is a nice addition for the tools. It just won't hold the pieces in place. When you open the case after a little bumpy ride, the stuff is all over the place. (see photo) I like the fact to include sockets for metric measurements unfortunately the 13 mm socket is missing but you get 2 x 14 mm ones. 7 × Combination Wrench:8mm,10mm,11mm,12mm,14mm,17mm,19mm are not in metric they come in fraction of inches. If you live in the US this might be a better option - but if they advertise metric tools this is a turn off for me. With all sets there is a compromise for the covered range due to the limited items per series. If you only use this set occasionally it might be fine but from my experience you'll need exactly the size that's not covered. In addition most people only use a small subset of the tools. So instead of spending money on tools you'll never use get just a set that suits you with better quality. E.g. if you use 3/8 or 1/4 sockets a lot get a precision ratchet with a full range of sockets. This usually gives you a couple of extensions to reach hidden bolts.

I got this for my son who really needed his own set of tools. When i got this, i was pleasantly surprised. Its a great starter set for the price. I wasnt expecting professional grade, but what I got was a decent quality set that I felt comfortable giving to my son. Its got everything you need for everyday DIY. Overall - nice set of tools for this price range. decent quality too.
