I've been using the original DJI Osmo Action since 2019, and it's been such a reliable camera that I hadn't felt the need to upgrade. However, the Osmo Action 5 Pro release finally convinced me, and I'm glad it did. The most immediately noticeable difference is the jump in image quality. The new sensor captures remarkable detail, and the 4K video at 120fps is incredibly smooth. The improved low-light performance is a huge benefit, primarily since I often shoot in less-than-ideal lighting. The color rendition is also more accurate and vibrant, and the wider dynamic range is a definite plus. The option for 4:3 capture provides greater flexibility in post-production, which I appreciate. RockSteady 3.0 is a significant step up from the stabilization of the original Osmo Action. It effectively eliminates even the most jarring movements, resulting in incredibly smooth and professional-looking footage. The dual touchscreens are a fantastic addition, making framing and adjusting settings much easier, especially when self-recording. The build quality remains robust, just like my original Osmo Action. I've used it in various conditions, including white water rafting and kayaking, and it's held up perfectly. The battery life is also a noticeable improvement, addressing one of my few complaints about the first generation. I wanted something simple to use to replace my old handycam that was used for family get togethers. I like to put the videos on DVDs to watch on the tv. I know, I'm a bit old school lol. Pros: The battery holds a good charge. It takes good quality video. It doesn't have a lot of buttons. Cons: It didn't come with a charger. I was told to just use my phone charger. It's pretty small and hard to hold on to. For what it is and the fact that it doesn't even come with its own charger, it seems a bit overpriced. If it holds up as long as my old handycam, it will be the last one I'll need to buy. ... show more
