Read the reviews and some where having issue with previous register to another owner, also missing parts... Made me hee haw on this purchase for over a month. Well in the end I decided to pull the trigger and went with the refurbished or renewed version of the Macic 3. It arrived today, and NOT even one cosmetic damage or missing parts. The batteries all 3 NOT one single cycle on them...... This drone is in Excellent and new condition... couldn't be happier and so ready to get it out. Amazing capabilities, I'm still dialing it in with what I can do with it. I upgraded from and Air2S and don't regret it. I have a Mini3Pro also to fill my "2 is 1 and 1 is none" philosophy. Money well spent

    • Compromised Motor - inspect your drone carefully!
Style: DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo
The drone and components seemed genuine upon unboxing. As a long time commercial pilot, I thoroughly inspected the drone and made note of any issues. All was well until I came to the left rear motor. Its rotation was very gritty and would often bind completely every few rotations. I looked closer and saw a tiny impact mark on the exterior of the motor body. This leads me to believe that the drone was previously dropped, crashed, or suffered a heavy impact of some sort. It is quite likely that the debris inside the motor are fragments of the magnets which make up the motor. I will not risk flying this drone - I have not even powered it on. This issue was caught during my preflight inspection while I waited for my first battery to charge. This is a secondary issue, but still an issue nonetheless - I also noticed that the drone frame is not identically rigid on both sides. Let me explain what I mean: With the drone on a flat level table, powered off, I lifted the front right arm (from the motor housing) about a 1/4 inch off the table. The rear right leg immediately came off the table, at the same time the front right leg did. However, when I performed this same test on the other side of the drone, I was able to lift the front left leg more than 1/4 inch off the table before the rear left leg left the surface of the table. This means that the body stiffness of the drone was inconsistent - leading me even further that the drone was involved in a crash, and that the airframe is bent. I hope this review helps people with their purchase decision. If you do decide to purchase, carefully inspect your drone for damage and return it immediately. One comment about the seller - FlysafeCR: There are many poor reviews about their company. Beware. I took the risk and it proved to not be worth it. Spend a few dollars more and get a Certified DJI Refurbished Drone. Not an Amazon Renewed drone. Thanks for reading. ... show more

    • Almost the Perfect Drone
Style: DJI Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo
First, let me say I noticed it was renewed after I ordered, and I tried to cancel my order, but it had already shipped. I was worried I couldn’t buy the DJI 2-year care program, but when it arrived, it looked brand new with all the original boxes and everything still sealed. No cycles on the battery either. The Magic 3 allows for aperture control, so as long as you are close with your ND filter, you can get the shot as you are so far away, a fast F4 will still provide all the depth of field you need. This means you don’t miss as often with the wrong ND filter, which is excellent and is the main reason to move from the Air 2s. Next are sensor size and ProRes, which provide excellent low light quality and enough data rate to allow for great edits and color correction. I can’t wait to test long exposure and sunset panoramic pictures in more detail but for now, just know it’s impressive. What I want is, during quick shots and master shots, the ability to have complete control over the camera settings, as right now, you are limited. I have tested obstacle avoidance, and it seems to work better, but I’m still not confident in the system to allow the drone to fly a complex path and not get caught in a tree. The telephoto lens is cool, but with such a small sensor size and not the best quality, it’s challenging to use that lens to take real pictures and video. Maybe if DJI could swap a lens out on the primary sensor remotely instead of using the second small sensor. As it is we have one great sensor and one subpar sensor. They could balance weight and gimbal motor strength with the desire to change focal length if the drone could move different focal lengths in front of the main sensor and just eliminate the second sensor. Otherwise you need two 4/3rds sensors to keep the quality the same. ... show more
