This is a solid piece of equipment for this price point. There is a little practice that you have to put in before you can get truly started. Watch as many YOUTUBE Videos that you can to understand some of the functionality. Now to the AVX error code, don't waste your time teaching it to product support, if you have VERIFIED that your CPU DOES NOT support AVX (there's a hyperlink on the Seratto website that shows you how to check), then download Serato DJ Lite 1.6.2, DO NOT RETURN YOUR LAPTOP FOR A MORE EXPENSIVE ONE. Once you download Seratto 1.6.2 you'll literally be rocking shortly thereafter. This is a solid product! ... show more

The Good: I've owned the Numark Mixtrack Pro II for a few years and love it. I wanted to treat myself to an updgrade. After countless hours of research I pulled the trigger on the Mixtrack Pro FX.(touted as one of the best controller at this price point) After unboxing and setting it up I was so happy I made the purchase. The look and feel was great. The materials were far superior to my old Numark. The jog wheels felt nice and heavy. The effects switches were a pleasant surprise and easy to use. Everything was great for the first 2 weeks then...... The Bad: I plugged it in one night to practice my mixing and the right jog wheel became unresponsive. I figured it was just a software glitch, so I restarted the Serato Software. It worked foa little while then became unresponsive again. This time I restarted the laptop and closed any background apps/software that was running. I switched the Mixtrack Pro FX to the faster USB port onmy laptop. The controller was now working intermittently. I tried the controller on another similar spec computer and had similar results. I decided to test my old controller and everything worked fine. I decided to return the Numark Mixtrack Pro FX and then order a replacement, however they weren't in stock at the time of my return. This might be a good thing as it made me think about what could have been the issue with my new setup. Important Info on my setup: Running Lenovo Windows 11 Laptop i5 processor w/12gb ram, Serato Dj Lite, Numark Mixtrack Pro FX Problems could be one of the following: 1-the controller jog wheel was defective 2-Serato DJ Lite doesn't play well with this controller and I would have to upgrade to Serato Pro or buy another DJ software 3-My laptop(which meets all the minimun specs) could not handle the software and the demand of the controller put on its USB ports at the same time. It handles my older Numark controller just fine. Conclusion: I returned the mixer due to technical issues. I believe this mixer may be too demanding for midrange laptops. My older mixer works just fine with the same software and has done so for years. If you have a high end laptop and or Serato DJ Pro or Virtual DJ, I would definitely give it a try but buy the extended warranty through Amazon. This was a replacement for my MixTrack 2 which was stolen from a gig. The version of Serato that comes with it for "free" absolutely sucks. It does fully integrate with Virtual DJ pro and it's pretty easy to setup. The sound that comes out of the "integrated hi-fi" sound card isn't great. It is built in though so no need for external interfaces. It also has a built in Cuing interface. The quality is not great. The controls don't feel very solid. I've also spent lots of time tracking down interference causing the platters to be unresponsive to touch, my laptop power supply being the worst offender. Lastly the built in mic input is WORTHLESS WHEN STREAMING. I was really hoping I could just plug in a mic and be able to mix it into the stream. NOPE, it just comes out of the built in RCAs. Overall, I'm happy with it for the amount of use I get out of it. It's probably not at all suitable for novice to pro. ... show more

This controller is definitely recommended for someone who may be an entry level DJ! I love everything about it, especially coming from the old school era, I was able to understand the transition into the new school era with this controller. But, I discovered something that most of the new school DJs probably won’t realize. This unit does not perform like regular turntables, in terms of how vinyl works on the ones-and-twos. These turntables, or “jog wheels” as they are referred to,” do not function the way a traditional set of turntables function. When spinning the jog wheels backwards, there is a slow drag and start up. Traditional turntables do not perform that way. A traditional turntable would start on cue a lot faster on the release. It can be worked around, but poses a problem for me personally when I perform a lot of scratch sets. ... show more

This deck is perfect. Small and light weight makes for easier travel and storage. Works great stand alone as well as patched through my pioneer. Defiantly would recommend for beginners and experienced users alike
