The Good: I've owned the Numark Mixtrack Pro II for a few years and love it. I wanted to treat myself to an updgrade. After countless hours of research I pulled the trigger on the Mixtrack Pro FX.(touted as one of the best controller at this price point) After unboxing and setting it up I was so happy I made the purchase. The look and feel was great. The materials were far superior to my old Numark. The jog wheels felt nice and heavy. The effects switches were a pleasant surprise and easy to use. Everything was great for the first 2 weeks then...... The Bad: I plugged it in one night to practice my mixing and the right jog wheel became unresponsive. I figured it was just a software glitch, so I restarted the Serato Software. It worked foa little while then became unresponsive again. This time I restarted the laptop and closed any background apps/software that was running. I switched the Mixtrack Pro FX to the faster USB port onmy laptop. The controller was now working intermittently. I tried the controller on another similar spec computer and had similar results. I decided to test my old controller and everything worked fine. I decided to return the Numark Mixtrack Pro FX and then order a replacement, however they weren't in stock at the time of my return. This might be a good thing as it made me think about what could have been the issue with my new setup. Important Info on my setup: Running Lenovo Windows 11 Laptop i5 processor w/12gb ram, Serato Dj Lite, Numark Mixtrack Pro FX Problems could be one of the following: 1-the controller jog wheel was defective 2-Serato DJ Lite doesn't play well with this controller and I would have to upgrade to Serato Pro or buy another DJ software 3-My laptop(which meets all the minimun specs) could not handle the software and the demand of the controller put on its USB ports at the same time. It handles my older Numark controller just fine. Conclusion: I returned the mixer due to technical issues. I believe this mixer may be too demanding for midrange laptops. My older mixer works just fine with the same software and has done so for years. If you have a high end laptop and or Serato DJ Pro or Virtual DJ, I would definitely give it a try but buy the extended warranty through Amazon. This was a replacement for my MixTrack 2 which was stolen from a gig. The version of Serato that comes with it for "free" absolutely sucks. It does fully integrate with Virtual DJ pro and it's pretty easy to setup. The sound that comes out of the "integrated hi-fi" sound card isn't great. It is built in though so no need for external interfaces. It also has a built in Cuing interface. The quality is not great. The controls don't feel very solid. I've also spent lots of time tracking down interference causing the platters to be unresponsive to touch, my laptop power supply being the worst offender. Lastly the built in mic input is WORTHLESS WHEN STREAMING. I was really hoping I could just plug in a mic and be able to mix it into the stream. NOPE, it just comes out of the built in RCAs. Overall, I'm happy with it for the amount of use I get out of it. It's probably not at all suitable for novice to pro. ... show more

I am a professional DJ who purchased this controller to have on hand as a back up unit for my main Numark NVii. You always want to have some redundancy at a gig in case of equipment failure. This "quick and dirty" controller is perfect for that purpose. I can swap it out quickly if need be with my main unit. And while it doesn't have all the features of its larger siblings it has enough functionality to do the job. One word of caution though. In order to use Serato DJ Pro with this controller you are required to either buy a license for $149 or sign up for a $9.99 per month subscription. I already own the Numark NVii and mistakingly believed that I could use that license with this controller. You can not. You must buy an entirely new license to unlock this controller. So plan to spend at least $380 (controller + license) if you want to use this unit with Serato DJ Pro. I gave it four stars for that reason. ... show more

I used this for a year and then the white rca port stopped working. To get it fixed by a local technician was more than how much I bought it for. When I reached out to the Numark customer support, they didn't hestitate to replace the unit altogether and take in my defective one. Easy plugin works on all my dj mix programs NOT just what it comes with. I’m using virtual dj. Didn’t have to download anything plug and play. And also is not built cheap very good quality and everything works on the board. Not just laptop but works on my gaming PC as well. Highly recommended

The media could not be loaded. Okay, I panicked when I plugged it into my computer and the lights started going crazy.. But after I registered with Numark, installed serato dj lite and opened up the program everything worked fine. Took about 15 minutes top. I'm not a professional but I've used professional gear and to me, this has a good scratch response and fun features! Yay! ... show more

First of all, I'd like to say Numark makes some incredible DJ controllers. I've bought other brands in the past, but nothing has even come close to this controller. It's extremely robust, looks professional, and the pitch sliders did it for me. The Mixtrack Pro FX is a two channel controller, that surprisingly has features, you'd expect from controllers beyond its price range. For example, in the mixer section, I was impressed to see effect paddles which normally appear on big budget mixers. I purchased this, due to my previous controller completely lost all functionality. I used it a month ago at one of my events, and it performed like no other. I highly recommend this controller to a complete beginner, as well as a professional DJ.
