First, I am far from an artist and the only wood burning I have done was as a child with the kits that came with chisel tips and a plug end and the wood pieces that had a red print on them that you were supposed to "color" in with your wood burning pen. When I saw this set, I really wanted to try this craft again. This set is awesome and can certainly take woodburning to an art level. With the different tips and adjustable heat, you can get nice lines, shading and can burn in a nice dark area. I'm only practicing with it now as there is so much to learn with this set. I've already gone through all the included pieces of practice wood and will be venturing on to more expensive wood sheets and wood tree trunk type pieces (you know - the kind with the bark on the sides). The tips have different properties and each works differently - much like the different kinds of paint brushes. I'm really having fun experimenting and am so looking forward to my first real project. I am searching for an easy pattern to try first, now that I have somewhat of an idea what the tips can do. This set is sooooo much better than the chisel tip pen-type one temp setting burner I had back in the day. Love this set!!!

The media could not be loaded. I like the size of the product. The carrying case is awesome. The burn quality fits my needs. The pin holder base is sturdy. I only wish the handle had a little more soft grip around the orange area to limit heat. Hope it lasts.

I've been wanting to get into wood burning for a while. I remember I had a cheap little set as a kid and enjoyed it quite a bit. I was surprised with the quality of this. You're able to adjust the temperature via the dial and comes with a holder for the "pen" when not in use. It also comes with a ton of different tips for a variety of different drawing or shading. I think this is a great kit for beginners. It has everything you need and even comes with a stack of thin pieces of wood you can practice with. I'm excited to practice more; I'm really enjoying this kit!

I do not recommend products I myself wouldn't use. Have you ever ordered something you didn't know you needed or wanted? That's where I'm at right now. I ordered this pyrography set through the Amazon Vine program thinking I need it for crafts but when it arrived, I realized the possibilities I can do with it. One thought that came to mind was to make welcome signs. I usually just stencil my signs. It's labor intensive and not perfect. This set just may be the answer to my prayers. There are so many tips included, I can achieve many different designs. There is a storage bag so I can keep everything together and they even included wood pieces so I can practice. Since I've never done any sort of wood burning, I'm sure there will be a learning curve but I'm up for the challenge. I am so excited to see what I can create and I'm sure the hubs will want to use it too. I just may have to tell him to go fly a kite. I'll have to update once I actually create a sign. I'm impressed though and highly recommend.

This is a very nice woodburning kit. I have an old woodburning pen from decades ago that I enjoyed using so much. I took a class, and made some nice pictures and crafts with it. This kit's pen has adjustable temps and 23 different tips, so it is quite versatile. I let my grandson use it and he created his first picture. I use a much light touch, so my burnings almost look like pencil vs being burned. This kit with its different tips, allows a wide variety of burning, from very very fine to deep and dark marks. I highly recommend this kit to anyone insterested in the art and craft of pyrography.

I am just a novice wood burner who has always had the old style metal tip burner. This was is amazing! It is super nice to be able to adjust the heat for the task at hand, and it has a great variety of tips to use for different needs. I used the writing tip and was easily able to engrave some names in some pine stock that I had used for an outdoor game. It comes with a handy carry case that stores everything that you need to do your burning. It has a nice rubber handle that was non slip and didn't get warm at all. The little engraver stand was also really nice to store the burner when not in use. A easy to use great value. I love it.
