The scent of shea butter in this kit easily overpowers the provided scents. Some people around me complained of odor-induced headaches while lip balm was being made. I slightly prefer the feel of the end product over similar created using coconut oil, but this positive was far outweighed by the negative of having to smell the shea butter on my lips for a few hours after application. This kit is expensive for what you get! The kit doesn't contain a syringe or pipettes. It doesn't have very many popsicle sticks. It doesn't have much scent or wax. I recommend you build your own kit instead. I discovered lip balm is extremely easy to make. There are a lot of instructions on the internet, but here's what worked for me. Place 1 tablespoon of beeswax pellets and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil into a very small glass bowl. Microwave the bowl on high for 70 seconds. Use a pipette to meter the desired amount of scent oil into the melted wax and coconut oil. Use a wood popsicle stick to mix. Optionally mix in another kind of oil. This kit comes with almond oil, but other types of oil can be used as well. Use a syringe to fill lip balm dispenser tubes. Let cool.

The oils dont have ingredients, or if combined with other oils . I'm allergic to mineral and coconut oils.

This is the first product that's ever worked for my lips. I use it every morning and night. I have chronic dry lips and no matter what I've tried this is the only thing that has worked! I'm sold! I'll be buying more products!

This was received as a gift at my request from a relative for my 11yo daughter. She wanted a kit to make lip balms and although those other kid-friendly oriented kits were prettier and more appealing to her age group, they didn’t make more than 6 lip balms and the origins of the ingredients were somewhat questionable considering their commercial appeal. I found this kit on amazon by search and it was definitely worth the money based on the quantity of product alone. This is not kid friendly if your child is not able to handle the stove or boiling water on their own. I used a double boiler method by boiling water and setting another bowl into hot water off the actual stove to help melt the ingredients and allow my child to make the balm on her own. But I had to empty and replenish the hot water several times to get the ingredients to a completely melted consistency. The instructions suggest you keep the pot over a steady heat source to “cook” the wax and this would be ideal but not with children who are uncomfortable with a stove. Upon pouring the wax into the containers, the wax hardened very quickly as I poured. You can melt this back down to make sure every little drip gets in those pots and tubes. The quality seems to be legit. My kids loved the scents and the balms were moisturizing. The only issue I had was that the scented oil vials and almond oil bottle all were sealed but had obviously leaked considerably on shipping. The zipped baggie holding the vials was holding a mix of liquid and the sealed almond oil bottle was covered in oil. I would still suggest the purchase..considering child friendly kits are still about the same cost for 1/4 of the product. This kit’s instructions make 4 at a time, which should ideally yield the 24 quantity promised.

This product is awesome! Comes with a good amount of all of the products you need to make your own lip balm, and oils included for scent/taste! Even came with the tubes and containers! Super good quality! Definitely recommend.
