It’s not Saragosa quality but handled a bass quite well with the drag screaming. Decent and cheap spare reel to lend out to friends or kids. Paired with 30lb braided line and 50lb leader.

this reel is a little big for micro lite poles but just the rite size for lite trout stream fishing i've handled some medium large fish (up to 4 lbs )with it and it performs well on a 7 ft ultra lite pole spooled with 6 lb line

The fishing reel is absolutely amazing, it casts perfectly, casts very far even with small/light Creek fishing lures, there is only one problem, the first time I took it fishing the handle came off and I lost the pice you need to keep it on.

    • Both reels I purchased failed within a week.

Purchased 2 - SDS2000 reels for saltwater baitfish such as Pinfish, Grunts, Blue Runners etc. Took out of box when received, reels looked to be excellent quality, and operation was very smooth. 1st usage, reel #1 anti - reverse stopped working. 2nd usage, reel #2 bail had to be closed by hand after every cast. Lubed both reels, and still have same problems...and yes...reels were thoroughly rinsed before, and after using. I wouldn't expect $20 reels to last an extended period of time, but I certainly didn't expect them both to fail within a week. So once again, I am in the market for baitfish reels. Damn shame, good looking reels, if they only could have operated like they did out of the box for a year, I would have been very impressed. My gamefish reels are Shimano Stradics, shouldn't have skimped on the baitfish reels. Feedback is what sold me, very high positive rating....my luck I happen to get 2 reels from a bad production run. Perfect for the occasional crappie, blue gill, perch... I stress occasional! The handle has one of those buttons. That spring in the button will be the first thing to break over time. If you take care of your reels, it will still be the first thing to break. Other than having to be careful about that button. The reel works as I would expect. But, surprisingly better! ... show more
