  • Fun little Retro pixel display
The media could not be loaded. Hello there! I fell in love with this gizmo when I first saw that it was a pixel display😊 and offers pixel artists a place to apply their trade. It’s a great decoration for any living room/workspace/game room as you can set the display for each environment. Some of the flaws are well highlighted in the 1 star reviews in that you will have to babysit the device as it has the tendency to crash. Usually a simple unplug and re plug will fix it. The slow reaction time also which I guess is a symptom of the 2.4gz wifi speed can be a lil bit of a pain. But even with the flaws, there is an entire world of artwork that can be put on this thing😊 so the picture potential is literally limitless. Theres 3 custom modes on the app that let you generate your own slideshows of art. I wish you could add more alas, but for now it’s just 3. ... show more

  • I think you should get this
I confess I have been having more fun than I expected. I don't think I am a "true geek" but having an animated GIF (whichever way you want to pronounce that!) hanging on my wall makes me giggle in silence countless times along the day. You can leave the "cloud channel" on and random stuff will keep playing. Or you can pick something specific to play on loop. Or you can use myriad smart functionalities like calendar, weather, currency exchange, stock market, crypto, etc. Apart from working well and looking good, the third great thing about this device is that it lets you access the community behind it, who create the random pixel art you receive for free (no subscription, no fees). You can also upload your own images, as well as like, comment, download, edit/remix, re-share. Yes, the app is clunky, BUT if you stop for a second and look closely, you will realize it *is* packed with features. There really is decently-featured editor for animated pixel art in there. I used it a few times. The pixel art editor is wholly separate from the Instagram-like part of the app, which has regular features you would expect, such as sharing, liking, commenting. Pixoo didn't pay me to write this but, excuse me, for now their developer team deserves just a little break from everyone. ... show more

  • "Divoom Pixoo-64: Pixel Art Marvel or Retro Limitation?"
The Divoom Pixoo-64 WiFi Pixel Cloud Digital Frame is a visually captivating and versatile device that combines modern technology with nostalgic pixel art aesthetics. Designed to be both a digital frame and an interactive art canvas, this product offers a unique way to display images, animations, and even play games on its 64x64 pixel LED screen. With its blend of functionality and charm, the Pixoo-64 presents a range of positive features alongside a few limitations. **Positive Points:** 1. **Pixel Art Display:** The standout feature of the Pixoo-64 is its ability to showcase pixel art with vibrant colors and crisp resolution. It's a delightful throwback to retro graphics, offering a unique visual appeal that stands out from traditional digital frames. 2. **Customizable Designs:** Users can create or download various pixel art designs, animations, and text using the accompanying mobile app. This customization allows for personalization, enabling users to display art that resonates with their style or preferences. 3. **WiFi Connectivity:** The built-in WiFi capability allows for easy and convenient updates of artwork or content. Users can change the displayed images remotely, making it a dynamic and versatile device for constantly refreshing content. 4. **Interactive Features:** Beyond displaying static images, the Pixoo-64 also supports interactive features such as notifications, alarms, and games. It adds a fun and functional dimension to the device, making it more than just a passive digital frame. 5. **Sleek Design:** The frame itself boasts a sleek and modern design, making it an aesthetically pleasing addition to any room or workspace. Its compact size and minimalist look ensure it complements various decor styles. **Negative Points:** 1. **Limited Resolution:** While the pixel art aesthetic is part of its charm, the 64x64 resolution might feel limiting for some users, especially when displaying detailed images. This low resolution could impact the clarity and detail of certain designs. 2. **Mobile App Interface:** While functional, the mobile app interface might feel a bit clunky or unintuitive to some users. Improvements in the app's usability and user experience could enhance the overall experience of using the Pixoo-64. 3. **Price:** Compared to traditional digital frames, the Pixoo-64 is priced at a premium due to its unique features. Some potential buyers might find the cost a bit high, especially considering the relatively niche functionality it offers. 4. **Limited Compatibility:** Although it connects via WiFi, the Pixoo-64 might have limited compatibility with certain devices or operating systems. This limitation could restrict its accessibility to a broader user base. 5. **Brightness in Bright Environments:** The brightness of the LED display might not be sufficient in very bright environments, leading to diminished visibility or contrast. This issue could affect the overall viewing experience in specific settings. In conclusion, the Divoom Pixoo-64 WiFi Pixel Cloud Digital Frame presents itself as an innovative and visually appealing device that brings a touch of retro charm to modern technology. Its ability to display pixel art, customization options, and interactive features contribute to its allure. However, it does have limitations in resolution, interface, and price that potential buyers should consider before purchase. Overall, it's an excellent choice for those seeking a unique and customizable digital frame experience with a nostalgic twist. ... show more

  • This thing is awful. Freezes all the time!
The media could not be loaded. So I made a mistake thinking I would be one of those people who might not have any technical challenges with this, and ordered it. It arrived. Unpacked it and took forever to understand the app. The app itself is a nightmare. The simple connection you would think, took probably about an hour before I was actually able to use this art display. The constant issues with: “if you stuck at 40% do this”, “if you stuck at 60% do this”…. I mean what the actual? I have iPhone 14 pro up to date iOS, and this thing is awful connecting with iOS. On top of that, once you get it going and start exploring all the different designs… it freezes constantly. See my video. I tried to use the ON/OFF button to reset and you just comply can’t. You do have to unplug the cable in the back to be able to reset it. That means there is no point of hanging this thing on the wall, if I have to constantly reset the device but unplugging cable in the back. I pad over $100 for a display that is simply an unusable and aggravating device, when it comes to setup and operations. Not worth your nerves and frustration. and please believe the negative reviews. If this was $20 I could have dealt with it, but with the current price it is one more headache that I don’t not need. ... show more
