  • Mixed feelings
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
I purchased this switch after the seller responding to a question stating that the display would not drop when switching between two PCs, as is common with display port switches. For any not familiar, often when you use a switch for display ports the display will drop from the PC when you switch away from that PC. This results in the display flickering while the OS re-organizes the items on your other displays. Sometimes, this even resets your "primary" display. Currently I am using the menu internal to the monitor to switch between HDMI and Display port, with my work laptop connected via DP and my gaming desktop on HDMI. Doing this, the problem does NOT exist. The entire reason for purchasing this was so I could connect both via DP, and more easily switch between then. Since the product fails at this I am returning it. All that said, I can confirm that it works with at minimum 2k@144hz. The switch feels rugged, and does switch quickly. The included Micro USB cable was long enough to reach a USB Charging hub I keep at my desk to provide 5V power. If you are running single monitors only, and/or unbothered by the fact the display will be dropped when you switch away, this may work well for you. ... show more

  • Works very well
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
With COVID-19 I'm now a work at home employee. Not wanting to use my company laptops screen to do work that at the office I had three monitors I ended up bringing my large personal monitors home. Now I have two 36" monitors side by side, but there was a problem. Now what do I connect my personal computer up to? The docking station for my company laptop and my personal computer both have HDMI and Display Port connectors. My monitors have the same. I purchased an HDMI switch and this Display Port switch along with cables. I connected both my personal computers video and the laptop's docking station video to the two switches, and then the two switches to each monitor. I can now switch from either computer to the monitors, sometimes even running one monitor on the laptop and one on my personal computer. No more cable swapping! Works great. ... show more

  • Pass on this switch
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
Technically the product works but not very well. I tried to use it for two computers and both screens flickered constantly and sometimes would go completely black. There are better products for switching displays so I encourage you to try those instead of this.

  • Use EXACTLY as directed
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
You have to use this without straying a single bit from the instructions. Every port along the way (except for the monitor), has to be displayport 1.4. NO MATTER WHAT. I was trying to connect a 27" 1440p 144hz gaming monitor to this to switch between my gaming PC and a docking station I use for my work laptop. Everything worked fine with my PC, but the docking station would cause epileptic levels of screen flickering. I did some digging and found out that the docking station has displayport 1.2 outputs (Dell D6000). I swapped it out with a better one we have at work (WD19TB) that runs off of thunderbolt 3 and has displayport 1.4 ports. WORKED LIKE A CHARM!! I'm able to run the monitor at full spec now without a single bit of flickering or artifacts on the display. So, do yourself a favor and make sure all of your components are displayport 1.4 compatible or it will guaranteed not work at some point. TLDR; Every component has to have DP 1.4 ports for this to work (except the monitor). Including all adapters, KVMs, and display switches ... show more

  • 144hz with new 1.4 cables did not work
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
I have a 1440p (2k) 144hz gsync monitor and 2 computers with nvidia RTX cards. At first, I had 1 PC hooked up to the switch and it worked surprisingly great with 144hz! Then I got my second PC hooked up, and using the *same cable* it would not work at 144hz. It kept going to a black screen. So I reverted to 60hz and left 1 PC at 144hz and 1 PC at 60hz. Whatever... Well, after 2 days of use and the occasional switching, neither PC works at 144hz on this switch and even at 60hz I'm now getting black flickering. Again - all 3 cables are new DP 1.4 from Amazon. Individually connected without the switch works great at 1440p 144hz (even up to 160hz). But the switch seems to have given up. Returning ... show more

  • Ultimately did not work
Size: 8K DP Switch Only
Long story short: Product was defective, did not work. Longer story: I looked far and wide for a display port switch that would support DP 1.4. It seems there aren't many choices, and this one seemed like the best bet. My use case was having 1 input and 2 outputs I could switch between. All cables I worked with were new and proven to be working perfectly. I started with a DP 1.4 in, DP 1.4 and DP 1.2 out. I experienced a loss of signal ever couple seconds, it simply didn't work. I decided to trust the advice of the product and only use DP 1.4 cables. I bought more DP 1.4 cables, certified they worked on their own, then switched the DP 1.4 out for the new DP 1.4. This seemed to fix the problem, I was now able to switch back and forth (IMPORTANT: Although I could switch back and forth, my windows 10 OS would not detect a change in monitor. It thought that only one of the monitors remained connected. for example, to get it to recognize the new monitor, I would switch to monitor B on the DP switch, the signal would go to monitor B but windows would still think monitor A was connected, so I would turn off monitor B, turn it back on, and then windows would detect the change to monitor B and make the according adjustments. This wasn't too much a hassle so I was still happy with the DP switch.) So after making sure only DP 1.4 cables were being used, I thought everything was working and I was happy. I then noticed my video signal was receiving a lot of noise. lots of pixels changing constanstly, looked like noise. Took the DP switch out of my system and noise went away. So ultimately, it came close to doing it's job, but the visual noise is a big problem for me and so it seems ultimately I got a product that was defective. ... show more
