  • It’s huge !
Style: 3RXT SafePlus Color: Gray Slate
This car seat is huge but love this brand. It is pricey so recommend catching it on sale. This is for my one month old but my 2 year old also sits in the same seat. I have 2 car seats and a booster seat and they all fit next to each other in the back seat. We have a Chevy mailbu and a Traverse for reference. It’s so safe and easy to clean. It’s my favorite car seat and won’t turn back ! ... show more

  • Does not fit rear-facing
Style: 3RXT SafePlus Color: Black Jet
I have a 2013 Ford Explorer and need a 3 across rear facing car seat. We love these to fit 3 across but this does not fit rear facing! My driver seat is ALL the way forward and it’s still touching the back of the seat. I am also using the rear facing angle adjuster. I’ve moved it to my husband’s F-250 and it will has a couple inches of clearance. Not made for mid size SUVs rear facing! ... show more

  • I want to love this like my RTX, but they went cheap for cover, that's what's new in 2020 for 3RTX
Style: 3RXT Color: Black Jet
We bought a Radian RXT in 2018 for our second child and loved it. It is easily the most secure car seat I have ever strapped my kid into, and we have owned a lot of Graco and installed in several different models and types of car. Also the easiest install, I've fought for more than 30 minutes in my mom's Ford Explorer with Graco and wanted to set the car on fire afterward for her making me move it over in 105 degree Texas weather. It is heavy, but I install mine and won't move it for any force in heaven or hell unless I am flying, so its not like I do a daily ruck march with it. Unfortunately, Diono is charging the same price they did for once a premium fabric car seat cover and giving you a crappy, thin car seat cover. Just feeling the difference between the two year models, you can tell they downgraded for the 3RXT severely since putting out the RXT. It has less padding, it is much thinner and I don't see how it isn't going to pill in the wash. My kid is going to destroy it. I've included pics of old versus new for reference, but most of it is in the "feel". I find this very disappointing, because you want a quality fabric in a "upper trim" series car seat that is supposed to last 10 years and costs $300. It's the same cheap, slick microfiber that I have on a couple of wal-mart $30 booster seats, or on universal car covers. I imagine it will turn green/gray in the sun just like those did. My Radian RXT is the same color it was when I bought it and even at two years older, looks better and its been washed a zillion times. At first, I thought they sent me a car seat with the wrong cover, because it says "Radian R" and my RXT was embroidered on, not stamped on the fabric like this one. It also shows on the box as "Radian RXT", so I think my confusion is reasonable. Then I looked at the pictures on their website and Amazon. Nope. They are all universally the same crappy fabric across the entire Radian series. Shame on you, Diono, car seats are expensive enough when you have to replace them constantly as you have kids, or have more than one so you aren't dealing with the logistics of switching cars with your spouse or parents just to get kids from point A to point B. And parents could easily save themselves $100 or $200 by buying something a little less "premium". Removing a star for the cheapness, because seeing it there makes me wonder if they are as "premium and innovative" as Diono claims. Companies that do things well would do well to do it across the board, especially if they want repeat business. I came back because I loved the RTX so much. Not sure if I needed another one that I would come back for a "4RTX" or whatever comes next unless they go back to better covers. For reference, these install amazingly well in Toyota Corolla, Sienna and Highlander and even the tiny Prius, but rear face in a Prius puts the front seat up too far for anyone over 5'6 to sit comfortably (basically every adult in our family). It will install in a Ford Explorer, but you will still be angry if its leather, cause they really didn't want anyone to get anywhere near their latch to actually use them and they are set too close together, so actually cranking down and getting the seat tight enough is a hassle, but easier than installing a Graco carrier or convertible car seat. Don't let an entertainment package on a Ford Explorer fool you, not a young family with car seats car. :p ... show more

Style: 3RXT SafePlus Color: Blue Sky
One of the best, sturdiest, safest car seats out on the market right now. Toddler is super comfortable in it and has ability to grow with it. Worth the investment 100%, very high quality! Love Diono Products!

  • Safe but very uncomfortable
Style: 3RXT Color: Black Jet
This is the third Diono seat we own and the fourth car seat we own (I am the father of 3 young children; the other seat is a Graco). I trust that this product would protect my child in a crash, and that's certainly the most important aspect of a car seat. But, we have three issues with this seat: 1. Hard to install. 2. Difficult to loosen the straps. 3. Uncomfortable for my children. 1. Hard to Install: I routinely switch all of our seats between two cars four times per year to accommodate our school and vacation schedules. This car seat, like many, is a serious pain the backside to install and it's only safe if installed correctly. 2. Difficult to loosen: In the front is a small lever that you must lift to release the straps and make them loose enough to release the child. On our other two Diono seats, this lever is about 1/2 inch wide and lifts easily. On this model, the lever is only about 1/8 inch wide and hurts the fingers to release it. 3. It's uncomfortable for my child. The top holes for the shoulder straps are too close together and pinch the neck of the child. My other two Diono seats do not have this issue. To explain, the shoulder straps connect at the crotch with buckles, and then pass over the shoulders, through holes in the seat, and pass through to the pull strap in the front at the bottom. This is a common design with car seats that allows them to be easily tightened by pulling on the strap. On this model of Diono seat, the holes at the top where the straps pass through are too close together. When the straps are tightened, even slightly, they severely pinch the neck. Unlike the other three seats I own, my children immediately commented that their neck hurt. I could visibly see that the strap was digging into their neck on either side, pressing firmly on the carotid artery. It was so extreme that my wife and I were concerned it might restrict blood flow. We had no choice but to use the seat on this first short drive of about 15 minutes. When we arrived and unbuckled the seat, the child had an embossed red mark on either side of the neck. I stuffed some cloth around the neck on the way home and eventually purchased some extra padding for the straps. It's not ideal, but it will work for our circumstance. I cannot recommend this car seat to anyone. If the holes were spaced further apart, even as little as a half inch (a quarter inch on each side) it may alleviate this issue. But the holes are part of the structure of the seat and cannot (or should not) be altered. The other two Diono seats we own aren't any easier to install, but they are certainly more comfortable for the kids. If this is the type of experience that Diono will provide in future designs, I won't be recommending them. ... show more

  • Huge
This car seat is giant. If you have a small vehicle (car, smaller SUV) and you have a passenger often, you might want reconsider if using this for rear-facing. I had to watch several videos before installing to figure out all the features and how to get it in properly. We use this read facing in a Honda Pilot and the passenger has just enough leg room. We also had to purchase the pad for under the seat so it would clear the head rest. I would install this car seat once and not move it for a long time, not good for moving between cars. ... show more
