  • The fit is a little bigger than normal
Size: 10 Color: Brown
Great boots so far. The fit is a little bigger than most but it is not a bad thing; it gives you a little room for some good inserts and some nice warm socks in the winter time. My advice, buy at your regular size. The boot has a traditional cowboy boot heal; if you have not worn cowboy boots in a while, give yourself some time to get used to that heel to toe walk. A little better than the Fryes boots since the Freys 12R harness boot I bought many years ago were very tight and took some time to break in. These boots are comfortable, right out of the box. Great boot with that classic Western look and feel. ... show more

  • I found these to be a great pair of boots I found these to be a great pair of boots
Size: 9 Color: Brown
It's odd that I have received so many compliments on these boots. Who actually looks at your shoes? Appearance When you first get them, they look very cool. Kind of all dry and dusty. The thing is, unless you are a famous actor that only intends to wear these once during your Tonight Show interview, you'll probably have to do some stuff. I've attached a photo to show what the boot initially looks like, and what it looks like after you apply mink oil, which of course, you HAVE to do (unless you are that actor). The mink oil is needed to soften up the leather and waterproof the boot. SO when you buy the boots, just buy the Mink oil too from somewhere. The photo shows what I bought but I don't think there is much difference what kind you get. Oil them up and let them sit overnight, then they are ready to wear. Fit A lot of controversy here in these comments. I think overall, if you buy your size, the boots are kind of tight. Boots are sort of like that. Especially new ones. They need to stretch a little SO there is a little bit af time you will wear them where they will feel sort of tight. I'm not saying your boots should hurt, but they might a little. Just get over it you big baby. They settle in after a week or so and after a little more time, they feel like they are a part of you. Customize I don't think the boot makers put a whole lot of thought in their inserts. Just remember, these are NOT running shoes with high tech support. I think it's just whatever insert they could buy a million of cheaply. I always put my own inserts in anyway and I'd probably say you'll want to do that too. I swear by Superfeet insoles but get whichever ones fit your comfort preferences and budget. These are the things that will stop your heel from swimming around in the back of the boot too. Overall I love these boots. I took some photos of my boots after a month or so, but can't find them at the moment. Basically, they look pretty nice. Kind of in-between the two boots in the photo. If you apply mink oil after a couple of months, they return to the darker appearance and the cycle begins again. I have a hard time imagining what can really go wrong with these boots aside from the heel falling off or getting worn. And it looks like it's designed to be replaced. So if this is the style of boot you like, you will not be disappointed in these. ... show more

  • Eight years and still going strong!
Size: 9 Color: Brown
I've had these for 8 years now, wear them most days, (on and off my motorcycles) and while they are quite broken-in they look barely worn. The uppers are smooth and un-cracked, and even the soles and heels show little wear. I have several pairs of motorcycle boots--and the Dingos are my go-tos for short rides. The leather uppers are a bit thinner and probably less protective than my more serious boots; but I love that they are lightweight, unlined, and that the soles are non slip. And I love the roomy, rounded toes. I did cut off the silly "harness" straps and the goofy metal O-rings. Now they look clean and simple--like a pair of classic Frye campus boots (another riding boot I own.) The Dingos are also fine for car driving, and are even good to stand in for a couple of hours at a time. (I'm a saxophonist, and I play my gigs standing up: surprisingly, these are the most comfortable shoes I have for standing still in. No idea why. Not great for long walks, though: again, I don't know why.) Everyone's feet are different, and comfort experiences will surely vary. But there is no denying these boots are durable! ... show more

  • Nice looking, but seem to have wider heels and narrower foot.
Size: 7 Color: Black
These came very well packaged, with shaft stays, toes stuffed, correct box: A+ for proper packaging. I wear women's 8.5 to 9 and wanted to try the men's 7, but they are out, so I tried the men's 7 extra wide. One boot fit and one was too loose. I could see the right boot was wider than the left in the foot, and fit much looser. I finally tape-measured them across the arch. The left boot measured smaller/narrower than the right by a few centimeters. (It might not seem like a lot in measurements, but it makes a huge difference in the fit. After all the size 8.5 is only a few centimeters smaller than the size 9). So only the left boot fit, and I have no idea if it was the correct fit for the left or right boot. I can try a men's size 7 elsewhere and find out I guess. But then have to deal with returns, etc. again. The heels were flopping up and down a bit on both boots, so they are wider in the heels. A 3/4 insert can sometimes help but not always. If the heel is just cut too wide, the heels will always be flopping up and down when you walk unless you have wide heels. These boots seem to be cut wider in the heels; and narrower in the front part of the foot (from all the reviews saying they run narrower/tighter in the foot). Otherwise they looked nice with thicker leather, and well made. Just watch out for defects and if in doubt tape measure both boots. ... show more

  • Amazing boots!
Size: 10 Color: Brown
These are some of the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, period. For those who might not know, you want them to be tight when you first get them. leather stretches and molds to the shape of your foot. It'll take a few days of somewhat painful break in but once they start taking shape it's hard to think of a reason to take them off. Put about 15 - 20 hours of break in before you you decide against them. After they're broken in you should have a half inch or less of slide in the heel, but they should feel snug around the ball and arch of your feet. If they feel like they're slipping off with every step they are too big. Remember to condition them with Mink oil or something similar, after break in and then again every 4-5 months or when the leather looks dry. These are an awesome buy, but if you want to use orthotics, do note the insole is glued. ... show more

  • Nice boots but a bit narrow compared to other manufacturers.
Size: 10.5 X-Wide Color: Black
This pair of Dingo men's boots seem to run a bit narrow for a 10.5 3E width. I returned them because they made my feet hurt while sitting at my desk -- just the pressure on the sides even without standing in them was too much. I specialed ordered a pair of Double H 10.5 3E and tried them on. Much better! Double H boots seem to be a little wider in equivalent sizes. I liked the Dingo boots -- and the price was very good. But I like the Double H boots even better as the leather is heavier, and the fit is better for my wide feet. However, the price for my Double H was substantially higher. But they should last for many years with resoling etc. ... show more

  • Edited 21 Sep 2017 Edited 21 Sep 2017
Size: 10 Color: Brown
Let me start by saying I have a smaller size being delivered, and I will adjust my rating, (if warranted) after I get them, ****EDIT **** 21 Sep 2017. The 9.5 boots have arrived. Although they do not have the glaringly obvious defects that the 10s did, I am still not satisfied. I cant say for certain without having both pairs in front of me, but I feel like these are the exact same size as the 10s, just with a different tag. The left one is still extremely loose, and the right one is just barely more snug than the 10s. But as you will read and see in the picture, the right boot of the pair of 10s was messed up to begin with. It feels like the hold my forefoot better, but not enough, and what happens when they stretch, which they absolutely will. Never again will I try and make a purchase like this online. I'm going to store from now on. Also, I tried a 9.5 in a store the other day; different brand but pretty much identical and probably made in the same factory in china, and they fit perfect. I received them in decent time for not being eligible for prime shipping. First impression out of the box is that they looked really good. It only takes a second to realize that the quality control is definitely lacking at the Chinese factory where these are made. The leather is a decent thickness, but zero effort was put into the inside, or reverse of the leather, to make it as soft as the outside. I would rather have the side that touches my skin to be soft and the other side course, but I guess that s just me being picky. Although, if you go to any brick boot store, you would be hard pressed to find the inside of a boot that is as course as these are, even cheaper pairs. The insoles of these are not removable, and they come with a heel cushion already glued to the top of the insole. The complaint I have with that is the left boot, the heel was not put in all the way, and the glue stuck to my sock when I tried them on. The absolute worst defect however, is the sizing. All of my other boots and shoes are 10 or 10.5. I got this in 10 thinking it would be perfect, but they obviously are not. The worst part is, the right boot is not only visually smaller than the left boot, but you can feel it too. I will attach a picture. Notice how the right boot leather (left side of picture) stops about a quarter inch sooner than the left boot (right side) in relation to the sole. Both tags inside show 10D, I checked. When I have them on my feet, the right boot is perfect length wise, but too loss to hold onto my fore foot properly. The left boot is so loose, it feels like I could shake my foot a bit and it would fall off. Hopefully the 9.5 I ordered will fit me better, and not have the obvious defect of one being visibly smaller. ... show more
