  • Comparison of Several Insulated Coverall's and Bib Overalls
Size: Large Tall Color: Brown Duck
I ordered a bunch of insulated coveralls and bib overall to compare. I am 6'8" tall wear a 38” inseam. I’m hard to fit. Here is my evaluation of some Carhartt Men's Big & Tall Arctic Quilt Lined Duck Coveralls X01: I wasn’t impressed with the construction of these or the fit. They were baggy in the back and didn’t fit as well as others. The insulation wasn’t as thick as the Carhartt Men's Arctic Quilt Lined Duck Bib Overalls R03. They were high waters as well. The inseam was only 32 I think. Carhartt Men's Arctic Quilt Lined Duck Bib Overalls R03. I liked those much better than the Carhartt coveralls above. The insulation was much thicker. But there were three issues 1) there was no insulation in the bib which made them colder 2) the attachment for the shoulder straps is really hard to hook and 3) the zipper on the legs only goes up to the knee. This made them much harder to put on with shoes. These Carhartts had 36" inseam that was great and fit the best but I decided not to get these for the reasons above. Walls Men's Zero-Zone Duck Insulated Coverall: These fit the best of the coveralls I tried. I liked some features of them but the zipper on the side didn't go all the way up which make it harder to put on with shoes on. Also the insulation on the bottom of the leg didn't go all the way to the bottom. The bottom 6" of the pants don't have insulation in them. But in my opinion they were better than the Carhartts and the Polar King by Key Apparel Premium Insulated Bib Overall. Polar King by Key Apparel Premium Insulated Bib Overall: I liked the construction of the Polar King the best of all of them. They have great pockets but the inseam of it was way too short. It was only 31" even though it was a Large Tall. I would say it is not a tall at all. I wish the legs were longer and I would have purchased it. The crotch was 1/2 way to my knees. Key Apparel Men's Insulated Duck Coverall: I ordered this in the Large Tall. The inseam is only 31” and gave me really high waters. Other than that these were nice. One button fell off right out of the bag. Zipper goes up most of the way up the leg which makes them easier to put on. Have cuffs in the sleave. Dickies Men's Big-Tall Premium Insulated Duck Bib All: I liked these the best. They have zippers going on the legs that go from the waist all the way up or down the side which make them really easy to get on and off. There is a zipper in the front which the Carhartts don’t have. They are also insulated in the bib and the back which make them warmer. I wish they had more pockets but they work. There is a reinforcement patch where you hook your tape measure on the pocket. So I decided to go with Dickie Insulated Bib Overalls as they fit better with at least 34" inseams. I am very happy with them. ... show more

  • Overall, good pair of bibs
Size: XX-Large Color: Black
Had a chance to put these bibs to the test. Fit good, although a little droopy in the groin area. I have a 50” chest and the bibs zipped up with no tightness. Could move my upper body without binding. Leg zippers are great for putting on and taking off my pack boots without removing the bibs. For the test: I have an open cab tractor and plowed snow in 0 degree weather for over 3 hours. I wear a pair of compression thermal bottoms and sweat pants under the bibs. I stayed quite warm sitting on a tractor seat the entire time, with no heat source (neither from my tractor or any battery powered heated clothing). They are durable, kept me warm, Easy to put on, take off, and easy to remove boots with the bibs on. The only negative is that, due to the droopy groin, I would not want to walk long distances in them. For working in the cold, walking moderate distances (1/4 mile or less) or standing in the cold working on farm stuff, can’t beat them, especially for the price. ... show more

  • Excellent product.
Size: XX-Large Color: Brown Duck
Great fit and finish. So far, appear wind resistant to cold air penetration to about 20 mph. Full length leg and frontal zippers makes on & off easier; really work well for knee high insulated chore boots. Full length insulation from ankles to chest extends warmth and cuts out drafts when bending over, etc. Have only worn in above zero weather, so I don't know about use in extreme weather conditions, but expect good results. Still water repellent to light rain at 2 months of use. FIVE MONTHS LATER. Still holding up well. Negative zero windchill had cold penetration through the insulation, heavy fleece sweat pants and Wranglers base bottom. Cold also came through the front pockets. Recommend zipper or velcro closures. Still water resistant to light rain or snow. Overall, a good product for Cold, moderately windy weather. 2025 update: All above still applies. Bought another pair. ... show more

  • Like everyone says, size down
Size: Small Color: Brown Duck
I’m 6’2”, and slim (180lbs) I wear a 30x34 pant. I originally got a medium regular and it was way too broad in the chest for me, waist was okay, and the legs were a bit baggy. I decided to try a small regular and it fits perfect and it’s just loose enough to go around my snowboard boots. Keep in mind this is with only a thin base layer underneath, if I wear normal pants under, it is a bit tight when squatting. So I’d say size down in height but consider your waist or chest as s/m/l/xl and you should get the right fit, I don’t think anyone needs a tall unless you’re over 6’4. Otherwise pretty standard dickies quality and I’m excited to use these on the slopes ... show more

  • Very warm but easy to rip I suppose
Size: X-Large Color: Brown Duck
Very well insulated, kept me so warm in super cold weather I had to take it off. My only complaint is that it ripped in the groin area after a week of work (lineman duties)

  • Nice and warm
Size: X-Large Color: Black
Def keeps you warm and wears well. Only thing is they can be quite long and the sizing is wonky. Def size up but that means you’re going to have the pants be very long. Must have them tailored, unless your a tall person!
