God bless the child! I have combination 4b hair. I have used Let's Jam, Ampro Shine and Jam, Creme of Nature Edge Control, Edge Booster, and Cantu Extra Hold Edge Stay Gel and none of them even come close to Diamond Edges Black Panther Strong Styling Gel. Don't even bother with any of the ones I listed above if you're trying to get your edges to stay laid the majority of the day. If I want a super strong hold sometimes, I'll spray some Got to Be Glued on them and use a band to hold them down until I get to my destination...we're thinking hottest day of the year or a party in which you'll be dancing. Any other day this by itself does just fine. FYI If you're doing or getting braids only use it on the edges of your hair or it will semi lock it. Use one of those other brands I mentioned above for that. Yessss I know it's pricey but it's beyond worth it. One jar will last you about 6 months or more. I've purchased this product 3 times and will certainly be purchasing another when this one runs out. ... show more

I absolutely love this product. I use this on my kids hair either when I twist or braid it holds very well and the only product as a gel form I use. Its worth the money and it last a long time because you dont need much for a hold on the twists.

I have 4C hair, so trying to lay edges is a struggle. I ran across Diamond Edges on YouTube and see why there is hype about it. I concur. This is better than most other edge layers I have tried (Hicks, Ecostyler, As I Am, Got2B and a few others). Mine lays immediately once applied, but you still need to tie down for continued hold. Depending on the weather, lay time varies and is inconsistent for me. However, if I get an hour, I'm happy with it. I am just shook to get smooth hair. Listen….I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!! Never had a product that laid my edges for 24 actual hours!! Full dis louder I added a tad bit of gel by g2B but it was not necessary. I have true 4 C hair which requires quality products to define my curls, which is fine, I use King Curls to define my curls and now this has completed my process by giving me edges to match my curls! I'm always a bit leary when buying edge control. However, I'm in love with this one. I've always used Cantu edge control but it never really held my 4c hair so I would just use gel. But the gel would dry my hair out. I used The Black Panther today and fell in love with it. It smells great. You don't really need alot of it, seriously you don't and it truly holds. I used it without gel and I'm very happy 😊. Its worth the money. Now, I'm just going to get used to styling my edges with this edge control. Its not too heavy either and the thickness is perfect! You can't go wrong. I just want to add that from the day I did this review I have not had to use any additional BPEC I added a little got2be glued fat-tas-tic mousse to my edges and they are still laying down. I have this gel on subscribe and save reorder but I don't think I'll be out when the order comes due again. You really can't go wrong with this gel! ... show more
