Yep, there is a tool tray for the extra's and yep it's short enough to allow your buffer to store without much disassembly, just pull the pad. It is big and sturdy. It takes a little bit of muscle to snap the latches closed. The tray is 2/3 length of the box interior, but it stays in place without any sliding or shifting. The extra open space is a positive in order to accommodate larger items.

This box is solid. This one's my second, the first one I bought at the hardware store about 2 years ago for about the same price. I'm not sure the recommended weight rating, I'm sure it's in the description but mines pushing 70lbs. The things a tank for sure. This one I just received feels and looks every bit as solid as the first. There identical. This tool box fits my echo top handle with a 14'' bar perfectly! And as a bonus it fits my 1 gallon gas can, file set, extra chains and scrench. I bet I could even squeeze in a small bottle of bar oil as well! 5 stars.

These are made under the brands DEWALT, STANLEY, BOSTITCH all are the same, they are waterproof sturdy and are corrosion proof. I use these for special tools like painting, drywall thing is awesome. Only issue is I wish they cost less !!! I own 6 so far!

It holds the 12 inch 20 volt dewalt chainsaw perfectly. Plenty of extra room for the extras: quart of oil extra chains and batteries and charger. Only downside is the tray does not fit with the chainsaw.
