The Dewalt OEM blades last much longer and stay sharper than the cheaper alternatives. At one point I installed a brand new and sharp powertec set, and after running a few boards of clear poplar through the planer the knives were already dulling and showing ridges. Thickness planed red oak. My use for this Dewalt 13" planer is short stock usually less than 3 feet. Worked so well I will not have to sand. Very pleased.

    • Short lived but ok price
These blades don’t last too long. They stay sharp but knick easy. That said, they are double sided and fit great. Blade swaps are quick and require no calibration. I tried a few after market blades but found these OEM to be the best for this planer.

    • Great deal on Genuine Dewalt
These planer knives made a huge difference in quality. My old blades were dull and left high spots on my boards. After installing these, I get the very smooth finish I had when I first got the planer. The double pack is a great deal.

    • Use what fits and this is it.
They are really expensive. I have mine sharpened professionally at a local sharpening shop. After a couple of sharpenings I install a new set. I have several sets for rotation purposes and the old ones get fashioned into small knives instead of being thrown away.
