This was so worth the upgrade from my small, cheap and loud shop vac. Definitely quiet and it’s a lower sound frequency, which is much easier to tolerate. I bought it for the shop but use it in the house, regularly. For suction power, the end was briefly blocked while vacuuming a mat and it completely collapsed my dust separator bucket. I replaced the hose with WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vacs Vacuum Accessories WS17823A Wet/Dry Vacuum Hose, 1-7/8-Inch x 10-Feet Heavy Duty Contractor Wet/Dry Vac Hose for Wet/Dry Shop Vacuums available on Amazon. I bought this for my house It gets dog hair out of my braided rugs and I have a wood stove so I can vacuum wood chips as well I love my shop vac! The only thing it had too short of a cord so I have to replug it all the time I bought the stainless steel model and it looks classy

plenty of power for my needs. and mostly just enjoying not having a jet in the room with me. Am okay with hearing protection using this one. As others have said,I wish there was at least nominal tool storage on board, and the hose is a tad more rigid than I like. I appreciate not having to drag the big boy out for small jobs.
