  • Good 1/4" and 3/8" cordless ratchet for use with 20V max batteries. Rated for 50 ft-lb max torque. Good 1/4" and 3/8" cordless ratchet for use with 20V max batteries. Rated for 50 ft-lb max torque.
This DeWalt cordless ratchet is very quick in removing fasteners. This kit comes with the electric ratchet, a 1.7 AH battery, battery charger, and storage bag. There are 3 anvils included with the ratchet providing 1/4" square, 3/8" square, and 1/4" hex drivers. The ratchet is the star of the kit. If you're familiar with DeWalt's cordless ratchets you would likely think of this ratchet as being equivalent to the DCF500 with the exception being this uses the 20V Max battery line while the 500 uses 12V batteries. This like the DCF500 has the same anvils and same maximum torque rating. Compared to the DCF510, this has a maximum manual torque rating of 50 ft-lb vs 175 ft-lb for the DCF510. The DCF510 being larger with the addition of a 1/2" square anvil and no 1/4" anvils. The head of the ratchet is where the anvil is that drives your attachments. To swap anvils you push on the back of it and it will pop out letting you insert a different anvil. The battery attaches on the bottom of the back side. The trigger and lock switch sit on the middle bottom. When you aren't using it you can use the lock switch to prevent it from getting turned on accidentally. There's a light just in front of where the trigger is that does a great job at illuminating your working area. These cordless ratchets are generally great for quickly removing and installing fasteners but generally don't have the torque necessary to break stubborn fasteners loose. That's true for this one as well. I tested it with the lug nuts on my truck to have something that I couldn't possibly over-torque. For breaking the nuts loose the ratchet was successful at a nut fastened to 30 ft-lb but failed to break loose a nut fastened to 40 ft-lb. On the other hand, driving the nut tight it tightened the nut to 73 ft-lb. I suspect it manages higher torque fastening the nut because it has the momentum going before the nut goes tight. It would make sense to be careful when tightening fasteners to not let this tighten to full torque as you could easily damage or break fasteners by over-tightening them. All in all the ratchet is easy to use, provides light, and makes removing some difficult fasteners much easier since you don't have to ratchet back and forth after you break the fastener free. The kit comes with everything outside of the sockets or attachments. And you have flexibility of multiple anvils. ... show more

  • DeWalt is Awesome DeWalt is Awesome
This review is for the DeWalt DCF520GE1 . I've been looking for the past few months about purchasing a battery operated ratchet. I've had nothing but exceptional service from all of my DeWalt tools in past and figured this was the brand I would get quality service from. I opened the box and charged the battery using the included charger. It took less than a hour and it was fully charged. I used this on my utility trailer when installing new decking boards and some various other jobs. I am impressed with the torque of this ratchet. It works great and is very well balanced for a battery operated ratchet. The ratchet fits into most places that I need it to. It's very versatile as I have now used it on both home and automotive applications. It's durable and working well even after a couple drops onto concrete from about 4 foot high. Scratched but no cracks or functional issues once so ever. Now that I have used it more than a few time I feel confident it will hold up well with use and last me as good as my other DeWalt tools have. ... show more

  • Great Ratchet Great Ratchet
This Dewalt is my second battery operated ratchet. The first is a knock off brand but does pretty well overall. The Dewalt is a very nice upgrade. The overall feel is well balanced. I like the length and thinness since it gets into fairly tight spaces easier. The trigger is easy to control at variable speed. It’s not an impact but the torque is adequate for a ratchet. Battery life seems really good so far, although having only one battery in the lot is a drawback in my opinion. I was tempted to drop a star for only having one battery but I didn’t. It would be nice if the reverse switch could be reachable for one handed operation. I know, probably not feasible but it sure would be nice. It can be done on cordless drills and impacts so why not a ratchet is my thinking. I’m just an “at home” mechanic working on 6 cars, a tractor, several trailers, and anything else needed around my family. I’m pretty happy with this ratchet. I can’t speak to durability yet. If it has any issues, I’ll be sure to update this review. ... show more

  • 1/4 drive, 3/8 drive, 1/4 hex drive. 1/4 drive, 3/8 drive, 1/4 hex drive.
Have not stress tested it at the time of this review but I’m basing it off of the 3/8 1/2 cordless XR ratchet. It’s definitely nice in the hand. $400 for a tool that’s extremely versatile, a battery, a charger, and a carrying case. Not a bad deal. Feels stronger than advertised. The switchable anvils make it the game changer. Switching directions on the head, and swapping the anvils is extremely easy especially when you’re on go all the time. I just keep magnets on the ends of my anvils and I never lose them. 💪 ... show more

  • Small Tool, Big Impact Small Tool, Big Impact
This DEWALT sealed‑head ratchet instantly became one of those “how did I live without this?” tools. It’s perfect for tight spaces where a hand wrench barely moves, especially under the car or inside an engine bay. Once a bolt is cracked loose, this thing flies. The interchangeable anvils are a huge win — switching between 1/4", 3/8", and hex bits means one tool covers almost everything. The variable‑speed trigger is smooth, the LED light is genuinely helpful, and the compact 20V battery keeps it lightweight without sacrificing runtime. It’s not meant for breaking stubborn bolts, but for running fasteners in and out quickly, it’s a game‑changer. Great for automotive work, appliances, furniture assembly, and any spot where a full wrench swing isn’t happening. The included bag is a nice touch. Plenty of room for the tool, batter, charger and plenty more. Overall, a fantastic addition to the 20V lineup. Fast, versatile, and way less frustrating than doing everything by hand. ... show more

  • The Tool That Makes You Side-Eye Your Old Wrenches The Tool That Makes You Side-Eye Your Old Wrenches
This was such a solid addition to my husband’s tool lineup. You don’t really realize how often you don’t have enough room to swing a regular wrench… until you have something like this. The biggest win is using it under the car. Those tight, awkward spaces where a hand wrench barely moves (or your knuckles pay the price)? This thing just glides in and gets the job done without the struggle. It’s one of those tools that immediately makes you feel like you leveled up. And it’s not just a one-trick pony — he’s already been reaching for it way more than expected. Some of the most common uses we’ve found: • Tight engine bay work (hoses, brackets, battery connections) • Under-car repairs (suspension bolts, skid plates, exhaust work) • Furniture assembly where space is tight (way faster than hand tools) • Appliance repairs or installs • Working in corners or against walls where a full wrench swing isn’t possible • General maintenance where speed + access matter Also worth mentioning — it comes with its own DEWALT tool bag, and it’s nice. Thick, durable, not one of those throwaway bags. There’s actually room to store extra tools in it too, which makes it even more practical. Yes, it’s a bit of an investment — but honestly, it feels worth it. I didn’t even know tools like this existed before, and it has already improved our quality of life when it comes to fixing things. It’s faster, easier, and way less frustrating. You might not completely retire your hand wrenches… but you’ll definitely start side-eyeing them. 😌 ... show more

  • Super Excited About This Tool — Felt Like Christmas Morning !! Super Excited About This Tool — Felt Like Christmas Morning !!
I ordered the DeWalt Sealed Head Ratchet Kit, and this thing really is the cat’s meow of handheld power ratchets. I felt like a 10‑year‑old on Christmas morning opening it. This will undoubtedly become my new favorite cordless tool. Right out of the box, it felt like quality. I do a lot of DIY projects that involve endless ratcheting in tight spaces, and this tool is a game‑changer. It includes both 1/4" and 3/8" square drives, so it works with practically every socket I own. The power is impressive, and the ease of use is even better. My favorite feature is the hex‑drive interchangeable anvil. I have a ton of hex bits, and while they’re useful, they’re a pain in tight spaces. Not anymore. This ratchet handles them effortlessly. I didn’t own any DeWalt 20V batteries, so finding a kit that included a battery and charger was a huge plus. It even comes with a carrying bag and manual. After all my testing, the battery still shows no sign of discharge. And the variable‑speed trigger? Love it. I only found two small nuisances (not real issues). First, this is the only charger I own that shows two bright red lights when the battery is fully charged—not a problem, just unexpected. Second, it’s louder than I anticipated. Again, not an issue, just something to note. Overall, I’m extremely excited about this kit. It’s powerful, versatile, and absolutely worth it. In my opinion this is a 5-star product !! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Dewalt does not disappoint
This is exactly the solid performance I expect from Dewalt. From the moment I picked up this rachet, it feels like a serious tool. It’s not light, and I can feel the build quality, and it doesn’t feel like it’s going to give up halfway through a job. Power is not for the faint of heart. It handles stubborn bolts without hesitation, and the speed makes a difference when you’re running through multiple fasteners. It’s one of those tools that actually saves time instead of just replacing a hand tool. What I like most is the versatility. Being able to switch between 1/4" and 3/8" drives without grabbing another tool keeps things moving. That’s a small detail, but in practice, it matters. The sealed head design helps in tight spaces. I’ve been able to get into spots where a bulkier ratchet wouldn’t fit, and the forward/reverse switch is easy to work without repositioning everything. Battery life is what I expect from the 20V MAX line. It's reliable. I’m not constantly swapping batteries, and that's a welcomed relief. It also has the usual thoughtful touches: LED light that actually helps, trigger lock so it’s not accidentally spinning, and an overall layout that just makes sense. This a professional-grade tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’re already in the Dewalt ecosystem, this fits right in and performs like you’d expect., and a great value! ... show more
