  • Great Tool
Style: Tool Only
I bought this because I'm finishing building a large outdoor kitchen and needed to apply polyurethane sealant to the underside of the cement board edges by using my finger. This caulk gun enabled me to use my left hand to pull the trigger to squeeze the caulk out a little bit at a time while I dabbed and applied it with my right hand. The caulk flowed out smoothly and easily, and I never had a single issue. Although the caulk gun works fine with a 2Ah battery, I used my 9Ah battery in the gun because the weight of the large battery enabled me to just stand the gun up without it tipping over (which it does with a lighter battery), so I didn't even have to hold the gun. Definitely with the money to me - it turned a three-hour job (at least) into a simple one-hour job. I wish I'd night this thing years ago. ... show more

  • What a difference
Style: Tool Only
I've always liked, and used Dewalt tools for decades now. I recently purchased a newer 20v drill, but still have a working 14.4v too. I ain't getting any younger, and my list of stuff to get done never seems to get any shorter. I was using the old fashioned type caulking gun, and noticed my forearms, and hands just don't have the strength they used to have, and found myself struggling to get through what should have been a short project. So I thought: "I wonder if they make a powered caulking gun?" Enter the DEWALT 20V MAX Caulking Gun, Cordless, 10oz, Variable Speed Trigger, Interchangeable Canister Trays, Bare Tool Only (DCE560B) I picked it up June 22, 2024, and wanted to wait until I had a chance to use it before posting a review. First, I don't care if your a pro, or a seasoned DIY'er, your going to need to put in a little bit of practice before you dive into a project. This one comes with variable six speeds, and I haven't yet found a reason to go past two. The material I'm working with flows PDQ. Perhaps with a thicker material, I'd use a setting higher than two. Second, I found that on setting one, if I flick the trigger, and let the material flow, I get a great bead going, then wait for it to slow a bit, "trigger flick", wait for it to slow, and on like that til the job is done. If I squeeze the trigger all the way down, and run a bead, when I release the trigger, the anti-drip kicks in and draws the plunger back. You'll see what I mean once you get a chance to use this cool caulking gun, At any rate you'll pry this great DeWalt tool from my cold dead hands before I part with it. I've redone all the exterior window sills, as well as some gaps in the eves, and all the exterior wood trim around the windows and doors. No sore hands or forearms, I get a ton of work done, and the results look great! Thanks DeWalt! ... show more

  • Nice caulking gun
Style: Tool Only
I'd been looking at something like this for a while, I've got several dewalt tools and I liked the features of this best. I had read the reviews and I can tell you that if you open the tube fully, put the speed adjustment on the highest setting and fully squeeze the trigger you will make a huge mess, this thing will shove caulk, concrete, silicone or whatever out very fast, on the other end, if you turn the speed control all the way down and barely squeeze the trigger it will take forever to get much product out. I really like the fact that you can cut the tip on an angle and rotate the tube in the gun so you can get a smooth bead going around corners and irregular edges, it'll take some practice but you can get a good bead with this little jewel. I loaned it to a coworker that was putting in a powered vent in the top of an rv at work, he said he was very impressed with the ease of use and control, he was glad I cautioned him about how fast this thing can put out the silicone, he got the vent installed quickly with no hand cramping either. I talked to a windshield installer that had one, he told me he likes this better than even the milwaukee branded ones and apparently some of his coworkers are switching over to dewalt now. As far as how long will a battery pack last while using this, depends on the size and condition of the pack, type of product you are using and how fast you are pushing the product out, I used just a little 2 amp hour pack, fully charged and used about 5 tubes of silicone and still had power to spare. ... show more

  • Great gun with an irritating flaw (not a deal breaker)
Style: Tool Only
I got this gun to help with two relatively large household projects. I had to recaulk an entire shower that I was waterproofing/sealing, and a kitchen countertop where the caulking in the joints had failed. Both involved long runs of silicone that I had done relatively badly before. This gun worked great. A couple of pointers - first, make sure you ensure that the caulk is loaded in the tip just before you get started, otherwise it will be an unwelcome surprise at exactly when you pull it back to check why nothing is coming out, and second, do not assume the advertised pull back of the piston will be enough to stop ejecting material. Definitely hit the top button that releases pressure. I created a gigantic mess on my first try because I believed the hype that the gun was dripless. To be sure, the piston does move back when you release the trigger, but it doesn't relieve enough pressure to stop caulk from coming out in copious quantities. That being said, the gun has been very effective. I have some issues with trigger finger and forearm pain from repetitive stress, and this gun allowed me to get the caulk where I needed it without having to unnecessarily stop. It is obviously a bit heavier than a manual caulking gun, but it isn't really unwieldy. Just use both hands, and handle carefully. ... show more

  • DEWALT 20V MAX Caulking Gun
Style: Tool Only
Very powerful and easy to use. The variable speed trigger gives great control, making it easy to apply an even bead without wasting material. The 20V battery lasts a long time, and the tool feels solid and well-built, as expected from DEWALT. It’s a huge upgrade compared to manual caulking guns, especially for larger jobs. Highly recommended for both DIY and professional use. ... show more

  • Amazing tool
Style: Tool Only
Hand strain and carpal tunnel don't allow use of a caulking gun easily. This worked much better than the Ryobi one I tried earlier. It allows for attachments for the larger tubes as well.
