  • What a difference
Style: Tool Only
I've always liked, and used Dewalt tools for decades now. I recently purchased a newer 20v drill, but still have a working 14.4v too. I ain't getting any younger, and my list of stuff to get done never seems to get any shorter. I was using the old fashioned type caulking gun, and noticed my forearms, and hands just don't have the strength they used to have, and found myself struggling to get through what should have been a short project. So I thought: "I wonder if they make a powered caulking gun?" Enter the DEWALT 20V MAX Caulking Gun, Cordless, 10oz, Variable Speed Trigger, Interchangeable Canister Trays, Bare Tool Only (DCE560B) I picked it up June 22, 2024, and wanted to wait until I had a chance to use it before posting a review. First, I don't care if your a pro, or a seasoned DIY'er, your going to need to put in a little bit of practice before you dive into a project. This one comes with variable six speeds, and I haven't yet found a reason to go past two. The material I'm working with flows PDQ. Perhaps with a thicker material, I'd use a setting higher than two. Second, I found that on setting one, if I flick the trigger, and let the material flow, I get a great bead going, then wait for it to slow a bit, "trigger flick", wait for it to slow, and on like that til the job is done. If I squeeze the trigger all the way down, and run a bead, when I release the trigger, the anti-drip kicks in and draws the plunger back. You'll see what I mean once you get a chance to use this cool caulking gun, At any rate you'll pry this great DeWalt tool from my cold dead hands before I part with it. I've redone all the exterior window sills, as well as some gaps in the eves, and all the exterior wood trim around the windows and doors. No sore hands or forearms, I get a ton of work done, and the results look great! Thanks DeWalt! ... show more

  • Love it!!

Awesome little machine. Vatiable speed, especially for glue, NP1 the harder to squeeze tubes.

  • Nice, but two caveats.
Style: Tool Only
The caulk gun itself works very well. You don't have to keep squeezing the trigger as on a manual caulk gun. However, two items of note - While it has a poker for punching a hole in the seal of the caulk tube, it does not have anything on it to cut off the tip of the tube. You will need something for that. Also, while it states this in the manual, the gun leaves about an 1" or so of caulk product in the tube. That's as far as the plunger will go. So you will still need a manual gun for those two things. Especially if you want to get as much as you can out of the tube. ... show more

  • Nice caulking gun
Style: Tool Only
I'd been looking at something like this for a while, I've got several dewalt tools and I liked the features of this best. I had read the reviews and I can tell you that if you open the tube fully, put the speed adjustment on the highest setting and fully squeeze the trigger you will make a huge mess, this thing will shove caulk, concrete, silicone or whatever out very fast, on the other end, if you turn the speed control all the way down and barely squeeze the trigger it will take forever to get much product out. I really like the fact that you can cut the tip on an angle and rotate the tube in the gun so you can get a smooth bead going around corners and irregular edges, it'll take some practice but you can get a good bead with this little jewel. I loaned it to a coworker that was putting in a powered vent in the top of an rv at work, he said he was very impressed with the ease of use and control, he was glad I cautioned him about how fast this thing can put out the silicone, he got the vent installed quickly with no hand cramping either. I talked to a windshield installer that had one, he told me he likes this better than even the milwaukee branded ones and apparently some of his coworkers are switching over to dewalt now. As far as how long will a battery pack last while using this, depends on the size and condition of the pack, type of product you are using and how fast you are pushing the product out, I used just a little 2 amp hour pack, fully charged and used about 5 tubes of silicone and still had power to spare. ... show more

  • Love it!
Style: Tool Kit
I bought this because I had thumb surgery and knew if I had to do more than 2 sealants on the RV roof, my hand would be exhausted. Although a bit big and heavy, I LOVE IT! I can lay down 8-12 tubes in no time and with little hand pressure. This makes fast work of a tedious job. I have also used it in the roof corners when necessary and this lays caulking there on a low speed just fine too. I have not tried other ones as all my tools are Dewalt, but love that they all use the same batteries. A real time saver on big jobs! Cost feels a bit pricey but when my coworker dropped it from the roof, he replaced an $80 piece and it’s perfect. So, it’s proved to be durable as well! ... show more

  • Should have bought it earlier
Style: Tool Only
This is was one of the tools I always wondered how useful it would be. 'Turns out to be extremely useful, I should have bought a caulking gun years ago. A 1Ah battery lasts a long time. The caulk gun needs to be kept very clean, any residual caulk on the gear bar making its way back in the motor mechanism require a long and painful clean-up. ... show more

  • It's NOT anti-drip and can pop the tube of sealant
Style: Tool Only
Release the trigger and the product keeps flowing even on the lowest setting. It’s so powerful it’ll pop your tube and gunk up the whole works... with tube of concrete sealant... rack, gear, plunger, inside and out. Be careful how you rotate the tube holder! If you’re not paying attention it will unscrew and fall off. I love DeWalt, but this was a very disappointing experience. Sadly, passed the return time or it would been out of here! ... show more
