  • More Consistence Application of Caulk
Style: Tool Only
Purchased this for caulking exterior of house windows & doors. Compared to manual caulking guns I am much more consistent in the application of caulk, its make the job a lot easier.

  • What a difference
Style: Tool Only
I've always liked, and used Dewalt tools for decades now. I recently purchased a newer 20v drill, but still have a working 14.4v too. I ain't getting any younger, and my list of stuff to get done never seems to get any shorter. I was using the old fashioned type caulking gun, and noticed my forearms, and hands just don't have the strength they used to have, and found myself struggling to get through what should have been a short project. So I thought: "I wonder if they make a powered caulking gun?" Enter the DEWALT 20V MAX Caulking Gun, Cordless, 10oz, Variable Speed Trigger, Interchangeable Canister Trays, Bare Tool Only (DCE560B) I picked it up June 22, 2024, and wanted to wait until I had a chance to use it before posting a review. First, I don't care if your a pro, or a seasoned DIY'er, your going to need to put in a little bit of practice before you dive into a project. This one comes with variable six speeds, and I haven't yet found a reason to go past two. The material I'm working with flows PDQ. Perhaps with a thicker material, I'd use a setting higher than two. Second, I found that on setting one, if I flick the trigger, and let the material flow, I get a great bead going, then wait for it to slow a bit, "trigger flick", wait for it to slow, and on like that til the job is done. If I squeeze the trigger all the way down, and run a bead, when I release the trigger, the anti-drip kicks in and draws the plunger back. You'll see what I mean once you get a chance to use this cool caulking gun, At any rate you'll pry this great DeWalt tool from my cold dead hands before I part with it. I've redone all the exterior window sills, as well as some gaps in the eves, and all the exterior wood trim around the windows and doors. No sore hands or forearms, I get a ton of work done, and the results look great! Thanks DeWalt! ... show more

  • Great gun with an irritating flaw (not a deal breaker)
Style: Tool Only
I got this gun to help with two relatively large household projects. I had to recaulk an entire shower that I was waterproofing/sealing, and a kitchen countertop where the caulking in the joints had failed. Both involved long runs of silicone that I had done relatively badly before. This gun worked great. A couple of pointers - first, make sure you ensure that the caulk is loaded in the tip just before you get started, otherwise it will be an unwelcome surprise at exactly when you pull it back to check why nothing is coming out, and second, do not assume the advertised pull back of the piston will be enough to stop ejecting material. Definitely hit the top button that releases pressure. I created a gigantic mess on my first try because I believed the hype that the gun was dripless. To be sure, the piston does move back when you release the trigger, but it doesn't relieve enough pressure to stop caulk from coming out in copious quantities. That being said, the gun has been very effective. I have some issues with trigger finger and forearm pain from repetitive stress, and this gun allowed me to get the caulk where I needed it without having to unnecessarily stop. It is obviously a bit heavier than a manual caulking gun, but it isn't really unwieldy. Just use both hands, and handle carefully. ... show more

  • Life saver type tool
Style: Tool Only
If you've ever used a caulking gun, then you know misery. My wife asked me to do wainscot in our hallway. And I love wordworking so I was happy to do it. But each segment required almost 50' of caulk, because of all of the piping that goes in to it. Multiply that by the 20 or so segments, and you have probably the most miserable job that could ever exist. It seems like something they would force you to do at a prison camp in North Korea. So, I made a deal with my wife. I would do the job, if I could buy this tool. She agreed. And, wow, it is worth every single penny. I could rip through a tube of caulk in minutes. In fact it was so fast, that I realized I had to break it up in to a few runs, because the caulk was drying by the time I could get through the finger spreading and cleanup. ... show more

  • Excellent Dewalt Tool, But Overpriced and Heavy
Style: Tool Only
I originally got this because the window adhesive for my van capsules was impossible to squeeze out with my manual caulking gun. But then I realized my manual caulking gun was just broken 🤣. This tool works well, but I wouldn't buy it again because it's overpriced and quite heavy. I can use the manual caulking gun with one hand easily, but this tool takes two hands to steady it because of its weight and length. This can be problematic in certain situations. This tool would make sense for people with arthritis in their hands or a professional that is squeezing the caulking gun all day every day. But it's just overkill for most people and applications, and it's double the price of the other Dewalt hand tools. When you compare a Dewalt Impact Driver to a manual screwdriver, the benefit of the power tool is enormous. But the benefit of this electric caulking gun just isn't that significant when compared to inexpensive manual caulking guns, except if you're a professional and/or doing large amounts of caulking over a long period of time. ... show more
