I was using my brother's Rigid shop vac, and he asked for it back and so I bought this baby. The differences are almost night and day starting with the sound. This DeWalt vac is SUPER quiet compared to the Rigid one. It is lighter, the hose is softer and easier to handle. The elastic strap feature is very useful to prevent it from falling off the top too. The push handle/storage caddy is removable and somewhat easier to maneuver than the Rigid's vac.

Just used the vacuum for the first time today to empty the last70 gallons of water out of my 100 year old backyard fountain. I can assure you that “STEALTHSONIC” is not a bunch of Hype/Marketing this vacuum is FAR QUIETER than the Shop Vac 16 gallon vacuum it replaced after the motor burned up and could not be replaced. Frankly I am now super happy it had to be replaced. Not only is this Dewalt Vacuum quieter but it is a beast at sucking water and wet leaves that had fallen into the fountain. Lastly the cart is much better designed for rolling the vacuum across the yard and dumping the water/leaves out. The handle is STURDY NOT FLIMSY LIKE my previous shop vac which also had the cart. HUGE DIFFERENCE. This Dewalt Vacuum is well worth the money to me, NO DOUBT!!

So far, this vacuum sucks! In this case, that is a good thing! It has a strong suction and extremely quiet as the advertising says. Unlike many shop vacs, this does not have an exhaust post for blowing but that is probably the sacrifice for the low noise. So far, I'm very pleased with it.

My title says it all. Strong and very quiet. My old blue model was loud, tipped over at the slightest pull, constant dust being blown out the vent. Just a horrible blue vacuum. This DeWalt is SO quiet, I feel at times the motor is malfunctioning. I mean loud vacuum means it's working, right? I keep putting my hand over the attachment only to have my hand sucked. Yes, that quiet, yet the vacuum is a short distance away. Speak of which the hose is too short when working in a workshop. Definitely need another 3-4 feet. However, and a big however, the extra long cord and big (hopefully anti-tip over) rear wheel makes up for the short hose. Feels like I need to get used to a short hose, longer cord , no tip overs, quiet, vs longer hose, short cord, always tipping over, dust being blown everywhere. For once, I'm very happy with a vacuum.

Well I bought it because Dewalt products are well made. This vac is well made, Just poorly designed. It's quiet but lacks suction. Dry leaves repeatedly plugs it up. And that tool carrying pouch that has to be emptied before you can turn it upside down to empty the bin is a real pain! If you try to pull it around by the hose the hose comes apart.

The vacuum is very easy to assemble. It is lightweight and easy to drag due to the four wheels. The suction is quite powerful and the noise is much smaller especially compared to my previous one. I have a blower at home but definitely need a vacuum. It makes my garage and yard super clean. This vacuum is worth owning.

I was blown away at how quiet it is compared to my old Craftsman shop vac that finally gave up the ghost after twenty years. Apparently the technology has come a long way. The larger rear wheels make this way easier to move around on uneven and loose surfaces compared to only having the small casters for all 4 wheels, but the overall size and the large handle on the back, while making it easier to push and pull, also makes it harder to fit in smaller spaces. The handle on top of the motor/lid makes it easy to pick up the whole vacuum and to remove the top for emptying. It accommodates disposable paper bags, but note if you don't plan to use these you ideally will have to remove the tool caddy/bag *and* the maneuvering handle in order to turn it over to empty it. Kind of a pain but I guess it's designed to work with the bags that you just lift out instead of turning it over to dump out. The tools and accessories are all fine, and it's nice to have the caddy on board to store everything. The rubber strap for the hose works great, and the hose locks securely to the vacuum so you can reliably pull it around by the hose. The suction was a little bit disappointing - I've found that it will not really pick up larger nails and screws very well at all, which my old one sucked up without missing a beat. I suppose that's a trade off for it being so quiet. Overall pretty satisfied.
