PLEASE READ! Step 3 - Board #5 is specifically illustrated to have the smooth side facing to your right. They're very keen to point this out. However, the illustrator seemed to forget that board #4 is the TOP, not the bottom. When this gets rotated upright, you will end up misaligned holes for the shelves (because they are drilled asymmetrically) and the locking hubs will be on the visible side instead of inside the cupboard. Make sure you flip #5 so the large holes are facing you. I've attached pictures of what I ended up with. If you imagine it oriented upside down, you can see that I followed the directions (the smooth side on the right when upside down). (EDIT): After re-examining the instructions, I think their intention was to illustrated the SHADED area is supposed to be the edge banded side (finished) but since three sides are edge banded and only one edge was shaded, I interpreted that to be the UNFINISHED SIDE.. SO if you make sure the edge banded side is facing AWAY from you with the unfinished side towards you, you should be OK. I think instead of completely disassembling the whole thing and risk compromising the integrity of the particle board, I will just Dremel out new notches on the shelves as other customers have done. Also, if anyone is wondering about step #17 - I've attached a picture of how they are supposed to be attached. The thin edge gets wedged between the backing and the groove in the board. YOU WILL NEED THESE as this unit is incredibly unstable without them. I've never used these before, so they were a bit of a mystery to me at first. Otherwise, it seems quite durable. It held up to me jabbing it with the end of my screwdriver several times while trying to get in to tighten the locking hubs. This 64 year old grandma had no trouble putting this together. Instructions were fine and easy to follow. If you make a mistake, just unscrew and make it better. Looks nice and is holding up very well.

    • Value but Assembly Instructions Presents Challenges

Very sturdy but the direction don't com with any words, only pictures. Also, some of the parts are similar, so just pictures can cause some confusion. So, there is a bit of trial and error involved with assembly. Otherwise, I'm pleased with all other aspect of the printer stand.

I placed a printer on top of it but even without the printer or anything in the shelf, it was very shaky upon assembly. I guess you get what you pay for with this but still somewhat dissapointed.

After I assembled the product, it was just flimsy, it is not sturdy and I was worried it might come apart when I put in my heavy HP 7740 printer. I have to add corner brackets to almost all corners to make it sturdy. Update: My wide format HP7740 printer moves when printing that is why I installed corner brackets that made the printer stand more sturdy. I think the cause of the problem was the particle board. Previously, I worked on projects using particle boards with the same connector configuration and I did not have any problem but this one was flimsy after it was assembled. The seller customer service is good, they refunded me for the cost of the corner brackets. ... show more

    • Works fine but needed a correction

Got this to put some hard drive arrays in under my desk. It went together fine, plenty of extra hardware included. The adjustable shelves had an issue. The slots where the pins engage the shelf so it does not move were slotted wrong. They were slotted all the same and the inside center pins are made slightly off so they would not fit. No way to flip them to fit. So I had to chisel out new slots to make the shelf lay flat. ... show more
