I first purchased the DEVAISE 3 a few weeks ago, and was so happy with it that I decided to also buy the singe-tower DEVAISE 2. As good as the assembly and product hardare were with the “3” model, the “2” was even better (better bag labeling, with extra screws, etc. in the event of a mishap or missing piece). The quality for all of the components is very good and everything was conscientiously labeled and accounted for. I’ve bought my share of self-assembly tables and file cabs over the years, including a ton of Ikea products, for home and business, but I must say that this line is hands down the most impressive I’ve seen to date. Both tables were smartly packaged to avoid shipping damage, and promptly delivered with Amazon Prime. More importantly, the directions were accurate and relatively easy to follow. At 75 years, my eyes aren’t what they used to be, but the quality of printing allowed me to double-check myself with a magnifying glass. As with many off-shore assembly guides, the text and written instructions were minimal, but the illustrations alone were clear and fairly easy to follow. Assembly took about an hour, slightly less on the smaller “2”. A couple of simple tools were provided, but as I have carpal tunnel, I used an electric screwdriver on several of the assembly steps to be able to tighten the various nuts and bolts appropriately. I also used a couple of regular screwdrivers. The engineering of these units is simple, efficient and well...to use that word again...smart. The finished tables are quite sturdy for home office use, as intended. These folks know what they are doing. I did manage to over-tighten a couple of shelf screws on the “2”, slightly cracking on shelf. Just enough to reach out to their support, and I will update this post with the results. Lightweight, study, attractive and relatively easy to assemble. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this line of home-office tables and file cabinets!

Was a nice surprise! Wasn't sure what to expect. Very easy to put together. Everything labeled and instructions were good with pictures. Needed a couple more file drawers in my office in a small space. This fit perfect. The fact that the drawers are cloth does not affect holding files. The hardware screws in tight enough to not wiggle. I would order another if I need one again.

Edit: I purchased a black nut and bolt set on Amazon with the correct diameter & length for the holes in the cabinet where you put the file hangers. Except for having a bazillion left over screws & stuff, it worked perfectly, and now I have a nicely functional file cabinet. This product is great if you want storage but I wanted a file cabinet. It was easy to assemble however the bars that hold the hanging files do not stay in place. They are held by two plastic pieces that go together at each end of the bar but don't stay together and when you hang your files they fall apart. So it's useless as a file cabinet. I haven't figured out a way of fixing this and don't think I should. I followed the instructions. It is a nice looking piece of furniture and I will keep it but just not file anything for now.

This was easy to put together and I love the storage capacity in it. The wood top is a good quality as well. I've had it for a while and it's held up well.

A good choice for those who only need modest filing capacity. We keep tax returns, insurance records, warranties and such--really only a small handful of folders needed. For us this little one-drawer cabinet is sufficient, and it is quite attractive, with a light gray, tweed-like fabric that is far more visually appealing than the ugly metal cabinet it replaced. Assembly was relatively straightforward, but folks with big hands or fat fingers may be in for some frustration--there are a lot of very small screws and miscellaneous fasteners that put this thing together! One thing I would like to commend is that EACH of these fasteners included an extra--that is thoughtful, and in my case it really came in handy because one of those little suckers fell out of my hand and rolled beneath a bookcase! It's not particularly sturdy--it wobbles a bit. But we won't be moving it, so that doesn't concern us. The top, smaller drawer comes in handy for bills, etc. The top is big enough to accommodate our printer, so that is nice. It sits on rolling casters, which I find odd--who rolls a file cabinet around the house?? Overall, for the price, definitely a good buy.

I really like this little file cabinet. It is easy to roll around and short enough to fit under a table, if you like. The top and the open shelf are strong enough to support a good bit of weight, but the drawers are not as sturdy. Only hanging files will work in the bottom drawer. (It would be nice if some were included.) The top drawer is fine for things like envelopes, pens, tape, etc. So, on the whole, a very helpful organizer. Someone else assembled it for me, but I understand that wasn't too hard to do, though it was a little confusing that you need to start by putting down the top and then building back up from there.

Update April 2025: I decided to add a picture of this in use. It’s been holding up this beast of a printer for nearly 2 years and is doing just fine. Totally worth it. Original review from July 2023: Every single screw/nut/clasp has a spare included, which I think is stellar. I managed not to lose any pieces as I put it together, but it was reassuring to know that if I did, I was covered. The tools needed were included except for a flathead screwdriver, which was needed for a single type of screw. Each step of the instructions said what was required, but they didn't say one of those would be needed which leads me to believe maybe I could have used the included flat wrench, but it was easier with an actual screwdriver. I noticed as I was putting the main frame together that the placement of the screws was thoughtfully done in that there was room for the allen head tool to fit perfectly without making me take it out to do half-turns, like so many other things do. For a cheap piece of furniture, I think they did a great job with the instructions, tools, and pieces. I have NOT put this into use, yet, so I don't know how the drawers will hold up to actual use with hanging files. They look like only light-duty jobs. I bought this to be a printer stand, though, so I will just stick extra paper in the drawers, which they should be perfectly capable of handling. This product took a little longer than expected to arrive, but it was in good shape and all parts/pieces were in the package, with spares as noted above. My only complaint would be the included casters. There are kinds I've seen where you can just pop them into the holes and they are designed to lock into place without having to screw them in, which would have been nice. The kind included with this required use of the included wrench but the "bolt" was so thin that I kept slipping off it. I just screwed them in by hand as far as my sore fingers would allow before using the wrench. Overall, 5/5 for value for price paid.

I found it hard to assemble. The instructions, to me, were too small to see. It doesn't help that my fingernails are long and the screws and nuts are very small. After a few hours of dealing with the small screws/nuts, and the instructions, I am happy with the overall look of the file cabinet. I think it will definitely work for what i need it for. To the lady who said the screws for the hanging folders kept popping off. That happened to me as well, but if you hold the back side and screw it tight I'll stay. What I found was hard were the screws to the handle. You will definitely need a real screw driver for that. Again, I really do love it but found the assembly to be a little hard.
