I really don't understand what people are complaining about. The directions were pretty straightforward. It does take time and patience. Purchased for my son’s Dorm room. Overall, exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this product. Great value.

Great little cart that keeps my active files handy and able to move them around to wherever I want to work. The small drawer keeps all the other supplies I need handy too and the open space leaves a place for books or mail that needs to be sorted. Having built in power plugs means I can easily work anywhere without having to worry much about access to electric outlets. The locks are a great feature since I do have people occasionally coming in my house when I’m not home- I can make sure no one can casually peruse my private papers. I was very happy with the quality of materials! I liked that this cabinet was solid material, not fabric. It’s nice and solid overall and doesn’t look cheap. It fits in with my other office furniture very well! Assembly was pretty straightforward-took a little over an hour. All the parts were included (some even had a spare) and went together easily. The only negative would be that the power cord interferes with the drawer closing all the way without pushing on it. I’m hoping that the cord will soften up and get shaped with use so that the drawer doesn’t hit it. Overall, I’d rate it a 6 out of 10 for assembly skills required- a bit more involved than Swedish box furniture but still reasonably easy.

I wanted to write a review primarily because of so many reviews on this product discussing assembly. I put this together myself (female, if it matters) in about 2 hours, taking my time. If you pay attention to the images/orientation of things/holes, it really is pretty simple. Yes there are a lot of pieces, but the instructions and pieces are all labeled well to prevent confusion. I am very happy with how it turned out - my drawers all close flush with the sides and it looks great. It seems sturdy and will get the job done in my home office to help organize things a bit for me. Don’t let the reviews about long & difficult assembly scare you! Just pay attention with each step - all the holes should fit up perfectly. If they don’t, take a step back and evaluate because you likely have something oriented incorrectly.

Very sturdy cabinet! Easy to follow instruction, all the holes line up! And they supplied extra screws which was very nice just in case. Tools are included as well. It didn’t take long to assemble, maybe an hour. It rolls very nicely even has a fifth wheel to support the bottom drawer. Both drawers lock, separate set of keys (total of 4 keys) are provided. Wood tone and black color variation was not as dramatic as shown, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it but I do. It fits well with other furniture.

The first time I received this cabinet, I inventoried the parts, of which there were MANY, to make sure everything needed to assemble the cabinet was included. It was not. I was missing 2 parts. Amazon was kind enough to send me another cabinet, advising me to use it for the missing parts in the first shipment. The second cabinet arrived with several pieces damaged and one of the SAME missing parts, "R-2" of the R category. In fact, the bag holding the R parts was punctured in the same place, presumably for this missing part, which is needed for the locking mechanism. Note, before I contacted Amazon the first time, I reached out directly to Devaise, requesting that they send the missing parts. To date, I have received no reply, not even an acknowledgement that my email was received. What's more, the second time around, taking a closer look at the parts, I noticed that they were poorly made and would, in my estimation, damage easily as one attempted to put it together. Final words of advise regarding the purchase of a file cabinet: stay away from wood. Stick with metal (steel, etc).

Took about an hour to put together, but directions were pretty straightforward. All tools provided, but be very careful with binding post screws they give you, it’s easy to damage the area around the hole. Overall it looks pretty good and seems sturdy enough. Is holding up a printer.
