  • Exact Fit for 2006 Mustang 4.0

Let's start with... this part I should have got with the rest of them, My Mustang Ride's and Drives like a brand new car! Direct Factory Replacement that makes a big difference to a 230,000 mile car. I've been very fortunate to have found Detroit Axle here on Amazon for all the parts my daily driver needed. These strut's wrenched right into place with the help of my wife with aligning the top mounting bolts. Detroit Axle came through in my endeavor of a new steering and suspension system including the front and rear brake pads, These Struts, Lower A-Arms w/Ball Joints, Tie rods with inner and outer ends and dust boots... Ride Quality is Greatly Improved, the Clunky front end noise is non-existent, But the most important thing is these part's have made my Ride comfortable and SAFE. Thank you D.A. for the Functionality and Budget Friendly Equipment. Quickly Ship's and Dependable Carriers. ... show more

  • 2011 Lincoln Navigator - Rear Air Shock Replacement
Size: 171139 x2/PAIR
12-6-24: Replaced my wife's 2011 Lincoln Navigator's rear air shocks with these coil over shock (struts) due to a system failure (bad compressor?). Shocks were in stock and arrived in 3 days w free shipping. Install was easy, just jack veh. up to give you plenty room to loosen control arm bracket & remove/replace shocks. Bolts are vey tight! You'll need a breaker and cheater bar to loosen. Plenty of YouTube videos to watch. New ride and stance good. Maybe better than air shocks? Haven't towed yet with it, but others say no problem. Eliminated the compressor, lines, air sensors, and leveling sensors & troubleshooting/replacing all Time will tell. ... show more

  • Great strut assemblies at less than half the price of repair shop cost.
Size: 171572L_171572R/PAIR
I was quoted about $800 to replace front struts and sway bar end links. Ordered these for my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan and saved a ton of money on the parts plus I did the installation on my own via YouTube videos . Our van rides very smooth and quiet now. If the bolts on the top plate don't line up with your vehicle you may need to use a long screwdriver to wedge across the bolts and slowly twist until the bolts align with holes. One of my strut assemblies was perfectly aligned out of the package, the other needed to be adjusted using this method. Installation took me about two hours. I also ordered sway bar end links and installed at the same time. Be sure to go back and torque the top plate nuts a second time after installation - maybe after driving 100-200 miles. Two of the nuts on one strut had loosened unexpectedly but are now holding after I tightened them again. This is normal, especially if the strut needs to settle in or wasn't seated correctly upon installation. Suspensions take a beating and even movement a fraction of a millimeter can result in a loose bolt and you just need to check it after installation to be sure. Longevity is unknown at this point as we've only put about 3,500 miles on our van since installation. Overall VERY happy with these struts at this price point. If they don't hold up I will update this review. ... show more

  • Great kit. Install tips...
Size: 171572L_171572R/PAIR
Excellent product, restored the height and ride quality of our minivan. Pro-Tips: Use of air tools is recommended for this job. Lower nuts/bolts tend to get pretty rusty being exposed to the elements. When taking the old unit out, make sure to compare it to the unit you are installing and ensure that the top plate bolts are in the same position, if not, spin the top plate until they are. You cannot install these incorrectly, it just makes the installation go a bit easier. Bolts on the lower mount are pressed in. Use a heavy hammer to knock them out once the nuts have been loosened. Use PB Blaster to soak the nuts on the lower mount, as they are likely to be very rusted. It may also be necessary to heat the nuts with a torch if a couple of treatments with the PB Blaster don't do the trick. The sway bar link arm is secured to the middle mount on the quick strut with a bolt that has a T-40 (Torx) insert to spin the bolt. This was the most difficult piece to remove as it was very rusted. Buy a heat treated T-40 bit that mounts to a ratchet and soak the piece multiple times with PB Blaster to ensure easy removal. If the torx piece is too rusted, you can also place a vice grip on the back side of the bolt, where there is a flattened part of the bolt just for this purpose and spin the nut off that way. Also, when installing the bottom bolt on the lower mount, try to make sure it is in the middle of the elongated hole, this will get you as close as possible to correct alignment. Make sure to take your vehicle to a shop to get an alignment after installation or you may do serious damage to your tires due to misalignment. ... show more

Hoping I save you all the trouble I had. I purchased in Summer of 2020 (installed without issue.) All was good for about 1 3/4 years. Then I heard a metal on metal noise when turning the wheel to the right. I couldn't pin point the issue, thought it was rack/pinion. I took it to the mechanic and he confirmed it was the spring rubbing. I work from home, rarely drive honestly and when I do, I drive passively. No bumps at 80 MPH. The mechanic had to replace these not even 2 year old struts and now all is good. Although past the return window by far and used, I contacted Detroit Axle about their "10 Year Warranty" and was hoping to get some kind of comp back as a matter of good faith. The warranty includes me shipping the struts back (at my expense) and if they are deemed defective by them (no guarantees here), receiving new ones. (Mind you, all while without having a car to drive to wait for them which didn't sound like a speedy process either.) I tried to save a few bucks here to buy from this company for the part. It didn't work out for me in the long term. I'd probably have given them another shot with some type of comp as I understand things happen. But that didn't pan out. If you need a part that may last a year or 2, this is may be a good route based on my experience. ... show more

  • Awesome!
Size: 271680_271681/PAIR
These shocks are fantastic! Bought these to replace the two year old Monroe shocks that I bought from Amazon only two years ago. One of them clicked from Day 1 & the other wore down so much that the tire would brush the wheel well lip on huge dips. These seem to have fatter springs & one more coil. Much more cushioned over bumps & no clicking due to a shoddy bearing upon arrival. The ride height was amazing upon install, wish it stayed like that! 🤣 They mellowed out after a few days. I can stick my fist up & down between the top of the tire & the lower lip of the wheel well. Hope it stays like that! Make sure to use a torque wrench with the proper specs for the small upper mounting nuts & larger lower bolts. Super happy with these! Ride quality is SO MUCH better! I hear the car go over bumps now but everything is so much more firm & the noise is more cushioned & contained instead of clicking. Thank you! ... show more
