Description

The Capri-Elegant Desktop Humidor comes completely lined with premium kiln- dried Spanish cedar and features quality importer's SureSeal technology to insure proper lid seal on closure. It has a scratch-resistant felt-lined bottom, gold-plated hidden quadrant hinges, engravable brass nameplate and a round humidifier (unless otherwise noted). This desktop humidor is equipped with tempered glass top and elegantly designed with gold-plated corner hardware and a glass hygrometer with brass ring.

I'd buy the "old world" box. Delivery wasn't too quick (to Europe/HU), but well informed, and arrived in time. Packaging was perfect, the humidor arrived in perfect shape thanks to the well protected pack. The humidor is beautiful, so got what you see on the pic's. The design is really nice, colours and the patterns are excellent. It really looks like a more expensive box. It's a well built box, you can feel it already from it's weight. When you open it, you can smell immediately the good quality cedar wood, so it's really built from quality materials. The seal and the hinges are okay, the lock is a bit cheap solution, but it works. The interior part looks good, no scratches or sharp edges. It's a big humidor, I put inside approx 50 pcs of cigars, and there are still pretty much space inside. After a quick cleaning you can start the humidifiying and the humidor preparation, as it is needed (light rub, good quality destilled water). I did it twice within 12 hours, then I put a shoot glass of destilled water inside for 6 hours, and the humidity was already steady. In the meantime I let the hygrometer refined first with the watersponge, then with the salt water plastic bag method, it needed to adjusted, but now it's okay. It's not the best quality, but I tested with a digital hygrometer as well, and it's working. You need to fix it with some additional sticker, I used a small dot of superglue. The only real negative I can mention is the humidor's humidifying part, if you want to have good and steady result, you have to throw it out. I tried anyhow, but it's not really a quality part. I'd buy Xikar Boveda bags, and I recommend to use it. With that you can have really steady humidity, without dropping the level. For the test period I opened the box a lot of times, because I noticed in every 2 hours the humidity level, but even with a lot of opening it was quite steady. The new box with a lot of new cigars inside is worth to ventilate after 2 weeks, I did it, the humidity level was dropped down of course, but after approx 2-3 hours with boveda it was again the same. That shows also the quality of the humidor at the same time. All in all, it's a good buy, for a reasonable money you get a well built quality humidor, which is big inside to store up to 100 cigars for sure (as it is mentioned by the details of the box). ... show more

I'm someone who likes quality AND saving money, and let me tell you this humidor fits the bill perfectly! I'm a novice cigar smoker who has just ventured out into the world of owning a humidor, so take that as you will. The Milano Glasstop humidor is everything a new cigar smoker like me could want. It's attractive and looks expensive (without being it), functional and quality. I saw this exact humidor in two separate cigar shops for $100! The hygrometer that comes with it calibrates perfectly after a salt test and installs with just a push. The lid closes with that oh-so-satisfying whoosh sound when dropped. This unit feels sturdy and well made. Most importantly of all, however, is that it holds humidity perfectly. I used four of the Boveda 84 seasoning packets and locked it up for two weeks. When I opened it, it was perfectly seasoned. I replaced them with 69s and the humidity is holding at a perfect 70 percent. I really can't recommend this highly enough for any level of cigar smoker, especially the newbie. It does exactly what it says it does (retains the proper humidity level) and looks darn good doing it. It has certainly become a wonderful conversation piece in my room. The only negative I have, however, is that (for me) it did not store the suggested 75-100 cigars. I was able to fit 15 cigars on the top tray and 45 in the lower storage compartment for a total of 60 cigars (glad I didn't order more!). The majority (35/40 in the lower compartment and 10/15 in the tray) are Robusto size (5x50), although I do have some Churchill and a few 6 inchers. So just be careful, don't go and buy this and 70 cigars, you may have a tough time. I'd say 60 is what this wonderful box can comfortably hold.     • An Absolute Must Buy Iteam for Cigar and Pipe Smokers.

I purchased this humidor to store and age My pipe tobacco because I live in the high desert of Nevada. I researched most of the entry level humidors because unlike Cigar Smokers My needs are a little simpler and not as critical. The first thing is you get what you pay for as a general rule, I choose this piticcular humidor due its cost and it had the fewest One and Two star reviews over most others in its cost category. I received My humidor undammaged with all its items on the the indicated delivery date. The humidor is an attractive design with nice fixtures and ample space for My needs, now to My review of what makes this humidor a very nice buy for the money. The hardware is as expected Fair in quality and appearance, 1. The locking mechanism is loose and the latch is to low and does not catch the lid fixture so I will make repairs if possible. 2. The hinges for the lid are well placed and work smoothly. 3. The Hygrometer at this time is functioning and holding RH of 70 to 72 as I season the humidor, I will attempt to calibrate just so I have an idea of how accurate it actually is after seasoning. 3. The fit and finish of the humidor is excellent, the tray all wood dividers are cut and sanded to a smooth finish and fit well, the Lid fits securely with a nice Glass Payne to view your goodies inside and it did Pass the Dollar Test.The Spanish Cedar construction smelled as expected very nice and the exterior was sanded and stained to smooth finish very nice as well. I would recommend watching YouTube video for reference when setting up this item, the directions are good but getting more suggestions is always better. I am very very pleased about this purchase, I know that the money spent to protect our items of choice is well spent on this humidor. I believe that if you are new to Cigar or Pipe smoking this is a must buy item for the protection and enjoyment of your tobacco products. 07/02/17 Update, its been just over two weeks and I have been very pleased with My humidor. I have tested the hygrometer on two occasions after seasoning the box just to be sure and its spot on using the salt test. I have changed out the original humidifier that came with humidor because it would not or could not keep up with Dry RH conditions where I live in the High Desert of Nevada. I purchased a small IKAR crystal jar and 84% Boveda packs which I am using two and it is holding at 78% RH. I have not moved the humidors location to check for optimal placement in My living room as of yet, its current location is out of direct sunlight and not in the direction of any air vents. I have checked the Glass Payne and Lid Seal and there are no RH variations. I keep my home at about 70 degrees plus or minus during the Summer so I hope I have found a combination for optimal storage. I will continue to adjust My tobacco products and Boveda Packs in quantity and location to check for any RH variations. ... show more
