Description
The Capri-Elegant Desktop Humidor comes completely lined with premium kiln- dried Spanish cedar and features quality importer's SureSeal technology to insure proper lid seal on closure. It has a scratch-resistant felt-lined bottom, gold-plated hidden quadrant hinges, engravable brass nameplate and a round humidifier (unless otherwise noted). I purchased this humidor to store and age My pipe tobacco because I live in the high desert of Nevada. I researched most of the entry level humidors because unlike Cigar Smokers My needs are a little simpler and not as critical. The first thing is you get what you pay for as a general rule, I choose this piticcular humidor due its cost and it had the fewest One and Two star reviews over most others in its cost category. I received My humidor undammaged with all its items on the the indicated delivery date. The humidor is an attractive design with nice fixtures and ample space for My needs, now to My review of what makes this humidor a very nice buy for the money. The hardware is as expected Fair in quality and appearance, 1. The locking mechanism is loose and the latch is to low and does not catch the lid fixture so I will make repairs if possible. 2. The hinges for the lid are well placed and work smoothly. 3. The Hygrometer at this time is functioning and holding RH of 70 to 72 as I season the humidor, I will attempt to calibrate just so I have an idea of how accurate it actually is after seasoning. 3. The fit and finish of the humidor is excellent, the tray all wood dividers are cut and sanded to a smooth finish and fit well, the Lid fits securely with a nice Glass Payne to view your goodies inside and it did Pass the Dollar Test.The Spanish Cedar construction smelled as expected very nice and the exterior was sanded and stained to smooth finish very nice as well. I would recommend watching YouTube video for reference when setting up this item, the directions are good but getting more suggestions is always better. I am very very pleased about this purchase, I know that the money spent to protect our items of choice is well spent on this humidor. I believe that if you are new to Cigar or Pipe smoking this is a must buy item for the protection and enjoyment of your tobacco products. 07/02/17 Update, its been just over two weeks and I have been very pleased with My humidor. I have tested the hygrometer on two occasions after seasoning the box just to be sure and its spot on using the salt test. I have changed out the original humidifier that came with humidor because it would not or could not keep up with Dry RH conditions where I live in the High Desert of Nevada. I purchased a small IKAR crystal jar and 84% Boveda packs which I am using two and it is holding at 78% RH. I have not moved the humidors location to check for optimal placement in My living room as of yet, its current location is out of direct sunlight and not in the direction of any air vents. I have checked the Glass Payne and Lid Seal and there are no RH variations. I keep my home at about 70 degrees plus or minus during the Summer so I hope I have found a combination for optimal storage. I will continue to adjust My tobacco products and Boveda Packs in quantity and location to check for any RH variations.

I'd buy the "old world" box. Delivery wasn't too quick (to Europe/HU), but well informed, and arrived in time. Packaging was perfect, the humidor arrived in perfect shape thanks to the well protected pack. The humidor is beautiful, so got what you see on the pic's. The design is really nice, colours and the patterns are excellent. It really looks like a more expensive box. It's a well built box, you can feel it already from it's weight. When you open it, you can smell immediately the good quality cedar wood, so it's really built from quality materials. The seal and the hinges are okay, the lock is a bit cheap solution, but it works. The interior part looks good, no scratches or sharp edges. It's a big humidor, I put inside approx 50 pcs of cigars, and there are still pretty much space inside. After a quick cleaning you can start the humidifiying and the humidor preparation, as it is needed (light rub, good quality destilled water). I did it twice within 12 hours, then I put a shoot glass of destilled water inside for 6 hours, and the humidity was already steady. In the meantime I let the hygrometer refined first with the watersponge, then with the salt water plastic bag method, it needed to adjusted, but now it's okay. It's not the best quality, but I tested with a digital hygrometer as well, and it's working. You need to fix it with some additional sticker, I used a small dot of superglue. The only real negative I can mention is the humidor's humidifying part, if you want to have good and steady result, you have to throw it out. I tried anyhow, but it's not really a quality part. I'd buy Xikar Boveda bags, and I recommend to use it. With that you can have really steady humidity, without dropping the level. For the test period I opened the box a lot of times, because I noticed in every 2 hours the humidity level, but even with a lot of opening it was quite steady. The new box with a lot of new cigars inside is worth to ventilate after 2 weeks, I did it, the humidity level was dropped down of course, but after approx 2-3 hours with boveda it was again the same. That shows also the quality of the humidor at the same time. All in all, it's a good buy, for a reasonable money you get a well built quality humidor, which is big inside to store up to 100 cigars for sure (as it is mentioned by the details of the box).

This is a great humidor for the price. It is spacious and comes with enough dividers to really make an impressive collection of cigars. This is well-made, but obviously not finely-crafter by hand. A really good, hand-crafted tabletop humidor of this size would run from close to $1000 and beyond, and clearly not what this humidor is competing against. I mention the more expensive hand-crafted humidors for a reason. This humidor from Quality Importers looks beautiful, and in fact has a classy enough look that you might start to expect it to work and act like a fine, hand-crafter humidor. It does not. Humidity is ok, but you must be sure to season it well and always maintain humidity. There is more airflow than you would typically want in a humidor of this size, meaning that humidity will fairly easily escape. This is not a deal breaker, as the box still maintains humidity for a time. You will just have to keep an eye on it to ensure it is where you want it to be interns of humidity. Just to be clear, no humidor of this style, no matter how expensive, will keep your cigars humidified indefinitely. This specific humidor simply looses humid faster than you might expect at first. This would be a great humidor for a study or man-cave, where you store cigars you intend to smoke fairly soon. That way, each time you go to the box to pick a cigar, you can also note the humidity. This is not well-suited for long term storage or aging. The humidity simply will not last that long without frequent checking. All that said, I love this humidor. It is beautiful, and does it's job well overall. I use it for my cigars that I smoke regularly, and do not mind checking and maintaining the humidity. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend anyone looking for a humidor in this price range give it a try. Tips: Use heartfelt beads, DymaStat tubes, or Bovida packs to maintain humidity. DO NOT USE THE INCLUDED SPONGE! They are a great place for mold to grow, and it will never keep this humidor at the right humidity for more than a day. Also, if you are crafty, there are ways you can upgrade the seal on this box, just read other reviews for this and other humidors, or Google it. I have not found the need to do this, but if you want a better seal, it's an option.

I'm someone who likes quality AND saving money, and let me tell you this humidor fits the bill perfectly! I'm a novice cigar smoker who has just ventured out into the world of owning a humidor, so take that as you will. The Milano Glasstop humidor is everything a new cigar smoker like me could want. It's attractive and looks expensive (without being it), functional and quality. I saw this exact humidor in two separate cigar shops for $100! The hygrometer that comes with it calibrates perfectly after a salt test and installs with just a push. The lid closes with that oh-so-satisfying whoosh sound when dropped. This unit feels sturdy and well made. Most importantly of all, however, is that it holds humidity perfectly. I used four of the Boveda 84 seasoning packets and locked it up for two weeks. When I opened it, it was perfectly seasoned. I replaced them with 69s and the humidity is holding at a perfect 70 percent. I really can't recommend this highly enough for any level of cigar smoker, especially the newbie. It does exactly what it says it does (retains the proper humidity level) and looks darn good doing it. It has certainly become a wonderful conversation piece in my room. The only negative I have, however, is that (for me) it did not store the suggested 75-100 cigars. I was able to fit 15 cigars on the top tray and 45 in the lower storage compartment for a total of 60 cigars (glad I didn't order more!). The majority (35/40 in the lower compartment and 10/15 in the tray) are Robusto size (5x50), although I do have some Churchill and a few 6 inchers. So just be careful, don't go and buy this and 70 cigars, you may have a tough time. I'd say 60 is what this wonderful box can comfortably hold. I'd buy this all over again, and have no complaints about the product.

First off; buy it, don't think about it. It's cheaper but its great. I got this about a week ago. It was packaged well in a styrofoam lined box, inside an amazon box. The inner box had been dropped and the corner smashed in but no damage to the humidor. I filled the the included cartridge humidifier with glycol and added a standing "shot glass" of distilled water to season. I have an AcuRite 00613 Indoor Humidity Monitor ($7.50ish on amazon) and after a day it was reading 80%. I have another in my other box so I swapped them out to be sure and it was correct. I waited a few days and filled it.... probably 50 sticks. It stayed around 80% I assumed the sticks would absorb some of the humidity. After a few days, I removed the shot glass of distilled water and let it be open for the afternoon to "dry out" a bit. It still a bit high... 78%, but I think it will take care of itself with some benign neglect. It's of great quality, feels solid and not cheap, obviously seals well. It looks good on the table. I always ignore the built in hydrometers, seeing them as decorative only. For the price, this is a great buy. Easily will hold 75 sticks, looks good and works.

I purchased this humidor because my previous two humidors did not have easy access to the additional digital hydrometers I purchased. The glass top provides great view of my hydrometers. I gave this product four stars instead of five because the instructions were not working regarding seasoning. I put in the shot glass of solution as instructed and did NOT open the lid. After 24-48 hours, the humidity went from 44 to 48%. The instructions indicated it would be seasoned & at optimal humidity by that point. I went ahead & purchased four Boveda 84% humidifying packets, 60grams each, and placed them in my humidor. It has increased in humidity in the last 12 hours. I also purchased the Boveda 4-packet holder and it fits nicely in the bottom of this humidor. Humidor was delivered as described and looks great! **2 MONTH UPDATE** - After having the four (4) 84% Boveda's in the Boveda holder for two weeks, the humidity was only around 72%. I decided to: 1) Pull the Boveda packets out the holder 2) I removed the holder completely from the humidor 3) Placed two packets on the bottom and two on the top tray 4) Let sit for another 1-2 weeks It was after this that my humidor got to 78% humidity. All four Boveda packets were sucked dry, so this humidor was very dry. I now have about 20-30 cigars in the humidor with five 72% Boveda packets. After a few days, the humidor has been holding a steady 71% humidity.

This review is for the Milano Glasstop. I am a very picky person. If I spend my money, I want the product to be PERFECT. That being said, this humidor is outstanding. I have owned it now for a few weeks, and so far the box stays at a steady 67% (according to both the analog and digital hygrometer I have in it). This is in a house in Maine in wintertime. My house is currently at about 20% humidity. The construction of the humidor is rather impressive. For the price, I was expecting something that looked rather cheap, or at least manufactured. I was wrong. The construction is very good, and the detail of the box is on par with something that is hand crafted by a seasoned wood-worker. The beveled glass, brass-finished lock and hygrometer, and laminate finish all add to the impressive presentation of the box. To ensure that this was going to work, I first calibrated the hygrometer with a Boveda calibration kit. I then spent a weekend seasoning the humidor. That involved wiping down the interior with distilled water, letting it sit for at least 24 hours, and then wiping it down again. After 2 1/2 days, the box was ready for my stogies. I have since filled the humidor with very good cigars, and can safely say that all is well. If you are looking for an attractive, effective, and affordable humidor, then I would suggest picking one of these up. You will not be disappointed.

This product is useless. It does not seal correctly, thus the humidity is not consistent. Of course, you wouldn't know that unless you use your own hygrometer, because the one that came with this box is just as useless. And by useless, I do not mean that it is way off true, and simply needs adjustment. I mean that it does. Not. Move. The needle stays exactly where it is, regardless of the humidity of the environment in which you place the meter. It is a nifty idea that the manufacturers had, using double-sided tape to attach magnets to the interior of the box, and using those magnets to hold up the humidifier and hygrometer. Except that they even cheaped out on the tape, which doesn't hold. So the moment you close the box, everything falls down on your (hopefully not too expensive or sensitive) cigars. I had to superglue the magnets into place. That's okay though, since the inside of this box didn't smell like cedar, it already smelled like superglue. Mmmm...tasty superglue... The customizable name plate that came with the product was the final insult, as it was too thin for any engravers in my county to touch - they knew that with material that thin, they'd just end up cutting right through it. I spent close to $100 getting the perfect gift for my father (the first time in my life I've ever had money around Christmas, so this was kind of a special occasion) and got a shoddy, pathetic, useless box. Since I don't have time before Christmas to exchange it, I have to give this slap in the face to my father. Thanks, Quality Importers. You really came through. I will never - ever - purchase a product from this vendor again. I suggest you learn from my mistake instead of making one of your own. Don't buy this product, or any other product in this line - I understand they all have the same defects. That is what comes of bad workmanship. And bad workmanship is the name of the game here, ladies and menfolk. Don't waste your money.
