    • Worth every penny! This hoop is incredible!
This hoop is amazing! I used it to do a continuous embroidery design the length of a full size quilt and it didn't shift at all. I didn't have to take the hoop off the machine, just take off the top of the hoop, move the quilt up and align it, put the top hoop back on and start embroidering. So easy!! I am amazed at how strong the magnets are, I have to pull the hoop apart! The only complaint I have is that it comes with a sticky tape that you have to put on the top hoop to show the hoop center. For the money that this cost it should have come with the tape attached, or better yet the markings etched into the hoop. It was a pain to do and hard to get in the right spot. Also, it was not delivered when promised. I spent over an hour with Amazon Live Chat trying to find out where my package was. They were not helpful at all. I could have saved a few dollars by opting for a longer shipping time, since this is what I got. Their so-called guaranteed delivery is a joke. ... show more

I used the hoop first to embroider a design on each block of a finished quilt. I had started using the hoop that came with my machine, but it took longer than to stitch out the design. So I finally broke down and ordered the magnetic hoop. What a difference! Very easy to hoop, held the quilt securely, worked great. Wrestling the quilt onto the machine bed took a little getting used to. The learning curve was short, and I am very pleased with the result. ... show more

For someone doing a lot of embroidery this is perfect. The magnetic hoops are so easy to use and hold material like a champ. The only problem is lining up the magnetics as they are so strong

This magnetic frame is amazing. The magnet is extremely strong and will be an asset to my quilting tools. However, the magnet being so strong could also be a problem as it is not easy to adjust or seperate.

    • Times save and much easier hooping.
It does make hooping much easier and can even facilitate rehooping while still on the embroidery arm when doing edge to edge quilting. I used it twice on a Big Dream panel and both times the quilt slipped a bit. On edge to edge, I don’t think it would be an issue, but in using IQ, the shift was noticeable. I gave it a second try and it shifted as well. So, when quilting in IQ, I’ll stick to my regular hoop, but for projects not using IQ I think it will be a big time saver. That being said, I do think it would be just fine on the Solaris, because it images the material in the hoop, rather than than loading an image from the IQ positing app. I have the Altair and the hoop fits just fine. If you do use it in IQ, you will need to lay the inside portion of the hoop that came with your machine on top of the magnetic hoop so the app recognizes it. I have a 5x7 monster hoop and absolutely love it. I’ve had no slipping with it, but I’m using it mostly on individual blocks prior to sewing together or Kimberbell projects. ... show more

    • I use this hoop for quilting my quilts and the larger size allows for fewer hooping.
I have a 12” x 8” DIME snap hoop and wanted the larger one for quilting my quilts.
