This might be a bit of an unorthadox use of this fire sleeve. For camping, I have a Blackstone OTG Griddle and a Coleman two burner stove. I bought two hose adapters so I could run both the griddle and stove off of one 5 lb propane tank (versus those expensive disposable little green propane tanks). By installing these hoses, I created a potential heat issue with the Blackstone gas hose that sits between the two. Seeing as both can get excessively hot, I needed to find a way to protect the hose from melting and causing a fire, or worse! "AI" suggested a Fire Sleeve and pointed me to this product on Amazon. The Blackstone gas hose is 5/8th inch outer dimension, and the fire sleeve is 3/4 inch inner dimension so the thickness, the fit and the appearance is perfect! Great value for my money that will keep us all safe at the campsite! It's quite durable for my use and the adhesion tape is tight and wraps on itself, no adhession or sticky tape. Now we're ready to cook some smashbugers, cheesesteaks and awesome breakfast meals! Highly recommended to protect hoses and cables. ... show more

DEI 5/8” ID protective sleeve fits snug over 8x13mm hose or 5/16 fuel hose for a diy project on my bmw. The section of hose I was replacing had rotten out and the dealer/parts store were asking too much for that small section of hose that came insulated so therefore i searched up my next best option for heat protecting my own off the shelf fuel line. And it turned out great. Just be aware of the fiber glass fibers inside this shielding which can becomes messy rather annoyingly quickly if it’s your first time handling fiberglass. Be prepared, have gloves when handling this stuff. They give you a rubber like tape to seal off the ends from fraying also to prevent the loose fibers from creating any mess I decided to use marine heat shrink tubing that I had laying around and I must say I’m pleased with the outcome and will be soon doing the remaining part lines covering it with this stuff :) ... show more

I used this to wrap around my rubber break line o 63 Fairlane. The over axle bend from exhaust was a little to close for my comfort. I cut a 5" piece in half and zip tied around line. Outer material is rubber, good thickness. About month of use and going good.
